Piper Addison is on the vacation of her dreams… or nightmares.
Vacation mode has been activated in Orchard Hollow. When Piper’s vampire boyfriend suggests a beach getaway, she jumps at the chance. A week on a secluded island with nothing to do but sunbathing and romance? Who can say no to that?
But what’s a holiday without a dash of the unexpected? A relaxing beach stroll takes a sinister turn when Piper stumbles upon a body in the sand! Turns out, Serenity Bay isn't just known for its killer tan lines. With a mystery afoot, Piper's instincts kick in, and she's ready to trade her umbrella drinks for a spine-chilling investigation.
Between dodging the local police, avoiding her dearly departed ghost familiar, and trying to turn the trip around, Piper has her work cut out for her.
The sand in the hourglass is falling as our witch who can’t witch races to solve the crime before her return flight home. With the killer on her heels, Piper better be careful or she might stay on the island longer than anticipated. Perhaps even for all of eternity…
Six Brews Under is a paranormal cozy mystery complete with an unlucky witch, a ghost familiar, and a feisty raccoon with a talent for getting into sticky situations.
Six Brews Under is the fifth book in Sage's Orchard Hollow series. It is a paranormal cozy mystery featuring Piper, her ghost familiar, Stella, and her hunky paramour, Joe. While it can be read as a standalone, I think the journey is enhanced by starting from the beginning: A Grave Roast (book 1), Cafe Au Slay (book 2), and Killing Grinds (book 3), and Devil In A French Press (book 4).
In this book, Joe steals Piper (and Stella) away to Oyster Bay for a little getaway. They can definitely use a reprieve from the perpetual murder madness that seems to follow Piper. And follow it does. What starts out as a relaxing beach getaway leads to Piper discovering a body and a brand new amateur sleuthing endeavour. As with any great murder mystery, there are twists and turns along the way.
While trying to figure out who did it, Piper is also doing her best to avoid dear old dad, the god of the underworld, who keeps opening rifts between their worlds and pulling unassuming spirits and ghosts over to his side.
This was another fun read! Sage has created this charming place with wonderful characters. While I missed Harry, Cilia and others from Orchard Hollow, I definitely enjoyed this change of scenery.
Sage's writing is always entertaining, but I especially enjoyed her inclusion of some witty coffee-related phrases such as: "You scared the latte out of me!" and "son of a latte".
While I'm certain book 6 is in the works, no news yet on a title or release date. You can be certain that I'll be watching and impatiently waiting.
Six Brews Under is the fifth book in the Orchard Hollow series by AN Sage, whom I’d like to thank for the opportunity to win a digital copy of this book, along with Goodreads and the publisher, Oliver Heber Books. This book transported me to the cozy town on the shores of a nearby beach. Piper Addison, her familiar, Stella, and her sweet and genuine vampire boyfriend, Joe, pack up and head to an island vacation for a short break from life. So much for a break! Piper of course comes up on a body on the beach, and the vacation turns into an investigation. I thought this book had some witty banter, cooky and intricate twists, and some family history elements that made the characters feel very realistic. I’ve never read an AN Sage novel before, but I was able to jump right into this one and it wasn’t too complicated. The characters were easily relatable, despite the paranormal/fantasy elements involved. I loved the side characters! Joe is adorable! Stella is so funny and provides so much levity - I want my own Stella!! I thought the little puns and jokes throughout the book were really cute. The island backdrop is really cozy and cute. This is a quick read and there’s plenty of twists in the mystery, but it’s never too stressful. I suggest making yourself a nice cup of tea and curling up under a blanket for this one in front of a fire, or a faux fire on your TV :)

Trying to escape their problems for a brief while Piper and Joe jet off to the islands to try and enjoy a tropical holiday. Unfortunately for them it seems that wherever Piper is death is haunting her. Likely a side effect of her parentage. When murder comes calling not once but twice Piper can’t seem to help herself and get involved in the investigation. Can she find the truth before the culprit gets her too? I have mixed feelings on this story. I’m wavering on whether or not I like the revelation of who Piper’s dad is and what that means for her. Specifically for this story I just wasn’t as into it as others in the series. Maybe I missed the familiar faces and the town I don’t know. It wasn’t a bad caper it just wasn’t working for me. Your mileage may vary. 3.5/5 stars.

An enjoyable paranormal cozy mystery that moved quickly enough to keep you interested while still including lots of details. Honestly, aside from the ghost familiar, the paranormal aspect wasn’t a big part of the story. Set on a beautifully described island, which had me longing for the beach, the twists keep you guessing. It was altogether an enjoyable read! While I haven’t read the first books in the series (and was definitely missing some character development because of that) it still read well and was easy to follow. Now I just need to go back and catch up with the first part of the series! I received the book as a Goodreads Giveaway, my opinions are my own.
Joe has whisked Piper off for a vacation on a tropical island. They were looking forward to a few days of rest and relaxation on the beach. Discovering the dead body of the man staying in the villa beside them was not part of the plans. Piper is determined to find out what happened and Joe has caught the bug too! Can they figure things out before their vacation ends? I love the special relationship between Piper and Joe. Piper's familiar Stella who is a ghost is always good for some laughs too! Great read especially if you like cozy paranormal!
I've never read this author before, and maybe starting with the latest book in the series wasn't the most brilliant idea, but I have to say it can easily be read as a standalone. I had no trouble following along, even with relationships that have developed over the books I haven't read.
I really enjoyed this. Both main characters were relatable and likable, the ghost was the perfect comic relief, and the mystery was top-notch.
A nice cozy that was fun to read. It's vacation time, and Piper's vampire boyfriend suggests a beach getaway, which she jumps on! unfortunately she stumbles on a body... now she is ready to jump in and try to solve the case. Piper has to be careful since she has the killer on her tail, and she is a witch that is somehow not a witch. lots of sticky situations, a ghost and a racoon!!! loved the story.

Vacation time!! Piper and Joe leave for a little vacation….. and what does Piper find? Hmmmmm? I’ll give you a guess lol. Of course she’s gonna investigate and let the adventure begin. We get to see more of her dad and I’m not sure how I feel. Stella of course is hilarious and I don’t think there will be another, but I won’t be mad if there is :)

Joe and Piper head to the islands for a vacation which ends up short-lived. First it was the next door neighbor. Then the owner of the villas. Can she go anywhere without finding dead bodies? Not to mention good old dad showing up a couple of times. And the fact she doesn't trust the police to solve the crimes. Nothing like good old fashioned sleuthing and some laughs to make a book enjoyable. And this one is. Great job. Thank you.
Another entertaining adventure for Piper. Together with her charming boyfriend Joe en her familiar Stella (my favourite character) she has to solve another murder. The story is well written, captivating, and fun.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
This series is so fun to read! This book stepped away from the normal town but there was still a mystery to solve! It was good to see a POV from Joe. If you are wanting to read a charming cozy mystery this is the series to read!.

This is my first read of this series, but I will definitely go back and read from the beginning. While it read okay as a standalone, I think it would have been more fulfilling with the back stories from the previous four books. And there's a raccoon! How can you not love a book with a mischievous little raccoon? Go read it!
I've never read this author before, but I found this a fun cozy with a paranormal twist. Stella, the ghost familiar, was a great character. The two main characters being a witch and a vampire seemed almost incidental to the story, but they go on a much needed tropical beach vacation, and almost immediately stumble into a murder, making for a less than restful getaway.
Piper and Joe go on vacation but as usual they stumble into a murder mystery. This was a fun book to read it has mystery and magic. Wonderful characters. I would recommend this book.

I love the characters and the twists and turns these books take. I particularly liked this book because it was in a new setting, giving it a little something different.
I love the murder mystery in each book, this book takes a different route of scenery by happening on a vacation which was a nice way to spice things up.
I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book though!
A good edition to the Orchard Hallows series. I personally have enjoyed the previous stories more - I love the town setting and familiar characters. This book was a fun change of scenery, vacation on an island! But I prefer knowing the characters and story line of the small magical town!
