After searching for ages, Amelia finally found herself a new job.
Now she won’t have to live off cheap ramen for the rest of her life! Her new position as the personal assistant of the CEO of a prestigious real estate firm comes with a catch. It involves a lot more work with computers and printers than she anticipated. Mia might be amazing with words and great at managing an office but tech has been her sworn nemesis since forever.
Every time his phone rings Desmond Murray sends a prayer to the heavens that it isn’t Carson’s new secretary yet again. The woman is useless with a computer and even worse at handling printers. Why anyone this dreadful would get a job in an office is a mystery to him. Not even the delicious shortbread she keeps in a tin in her desk drawer can sweeten the bitter taste of his resentment. At least she tries to get better. When he encounters her crying in the storeroom, he finds himself agreeing to give her one-on-one computer lessons. He might make himself redundant but not having to deal with her on a daily basis might just be worth the extra effort.
HOWLING HEARTS & PRINTER PARTS is a Creatures & Coding Spinoff Novella. It has a lot of sugar & (open door) spice and can be read as a standalone!
What a cute workplace romance! I enjoyed this book, especially the ND rep where the FMC was terrible with tech. We need rep too lol. Mia was sunshiny with a habit of masking her ND traits and Desmond was the grumpy IT guy who frequently had to save her ass with tech. They had solid chemistry and a super cozy relationship where they supported one another. Desmond is awesome at trying to help Mia see that she’s a valuable and interesting person without her social masking.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: money struggles, mention of overprotective parents, mention of mean parents (of side character, off page), infertility (side character, off page), light CNC
Howling Hearts & Printer Parts made me gush SO MUCH while reading it. I could not contain how much it made me squee because of how adorable the two MCs are! If you're looking for a quick read with all the spicy goodness and emotional depth, this is the book for you!
Howling Hearts and Printer Parts by Rhea Fox had me howling with joy! The book follows a quirky technology challenged Amelia who has gotten on a first name bases with the IT support wolf: Desmond.
Amelia is very into Desmond. The wolfman that wears nerdy t-shirts that are a little to tight to hold in all his muscular form. Amelia makes cookies to help easy his constant present in her office since she keeps needing help again (and again).
Desmond ends up giving Amelia computer lessons and well the heat between them builds. Desmond starts to notice how good Amelia's thighs look and how he would enjoy having them around him. BUT he is a gentleman and that isn’t good to sexually objective your coworkers (god! I love him).
I love Amelia. She is everything I would probably have been working in an office building. I can handle basic computer things at time but once I am fluster: I am done. I loved how she is trying hard to learn and do better at her job.
Desmond reminded me of my husband in the way that he is very respectful and understanding to Amelia. He is trying to help her out but also falling in love with the woman he sees outside the office.
The spicy moments were 10/10 and the story was beautiful. Was I sad this was only a Novella? Yes. Could I have read another 100 pages? Yes. Would I change anything about this book though? No. Rhea Fox packed everything needed in this book to make a cute romantic novella that I am glad sits on my shelf.
This was so cute! If you're looking for a short, steamy read that, despite it's size is a complete story with well developed characters and good steamy scenes: this is one! I enjoyed it very much 😊
This is the perfect cozy winter monster romance novella. It was so sweet and wholesome! Amelia is perfect for her new secretary job and has been doing great the last few months. Well she's great at everything except for anything tech related. She is constantly needing tech support but lucky for her it's usually the sexy wolf man that helps her. When her crush sees her hiding and in tears he agrees to do some one on one computer tutoring. Desmond is a bit of a grump who works in tech support. The newest hire keeps calling him for help and while it can get annoying her sweat treats mostly make up for it. When he finds her crying it pulls at his heart and he agrees to help her out. Desmond always thought Amelia was pretty but he is all of a sudden much more aware of her beauty. The tension between the two of them is thick and the computer tutoring is not the only thing they work on. These two are so adorable! I loved how sweet and awkward they could be. Both of them were so endearing. Amelia was very down to earth and relatable. Desmond was both a gentleman and a dirty talker. This was a super cozy novella that is perfect for monster lovers and even monster romance newbies. Check out this cozy winter novella if you enjoy workplace romance, knotting, grumpy x sunshine, nerdy dirty talk, sexting, and a sweet wholesome ending.
KU Read 132 Pages Paranormal Workplace Romance Grumpy x Sunshine Human X Lupine IT Crowd with Monster Smut Knotting
When Amelia need a help from the Lupine IT guy Desmond, her computer lessons soon turn spicy and they both fall hard and fast. Like all Rhea's books they are set in a world that see the supernatural & hybrids living alongside humans. The characters are modern and relatable with their own quirks and back stories. The range and crossovers are immense the more you read and I am certainly working my way through as many of her books as possible.
Amelia is struggling at her new job. When she has no other choice than to call for the help of Desmond - again - she is short of breaking down in tears. And it doesn't help, that she has a huge crush on the handsome Lupinian.
Completely at loss for what to do, to keep her job, Amelia asks Desmond for computer lessons which turn into something more quickly....
This is such a cute novella. Desmond is a complete cutie, encouraging Amelia constantly to stand up for herself and to ask for what she wants 🔥🔥🔥. I loved it 💛💛
What a sweet and cozy read, I loved it! The main characters were adorable together while also making for a hot combination in the bedroom. He's a perfect gentleman in the office and a Big Bad Wolf in the sheets, and she may look like Little Red but is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to invite the wolf over ;) There were funny moments in the book as well. Did I mention that I loved it?
I love the warm and fuzzy feels this story gave me. The office setting is perfect and as a IT person, I found myself giggling over their nerdy dirty talk. Grumpy and sunshine was a fantastic trope and the cinnamon roll vibes from Desmond were just chefs kiss.
Ageist remark near the beginning tarnished my enjoyment of it. Not interested in reading authors who write discrimination of any kind into their narrative.
Oh I adored Amelia and Desmond. They were both just the sweetest and so good together. I loved how it wasn’t an insta mate book. They had to take the time to actually talk and find common interests. It made for a very sweet fulfilling story. I loved how Desmond encouraged Mia to be her authentic self and how Mia took the time to memorize computer terms for bedroom time. It’s sweet and I thought it was awesome. Such a cute story!! Definitely recommend, especially if you love dirty talking green flags, and women who may be a bit of a walking disaster but have generous hearts.
This was so freaking cute omg. they meet at work, he's in IT, he's helping her learn more but this little spicy Red jumped quick on the Big Wolf 😅 They are so adorable though. She learned some IT terms so she could use them during their spicy time. 😏 Little minx.
STEM MMC IT nerd, loved the nerdy talk. It was a cute short story. I’m still not sold on fantasy yet, but this one was weird because the wolf MMC was only ever in his wolf form, he was never human, so the spicy scenes seemed weird to me. Good plot though and no conflict so it stayed sweet the whole way through without much anxiety or angst.
Almost too short but so sweet I will forgive the author! Lol Loved reading about Mia and Desmond, they matched each other and made each other better. Loving this approach to fated mates in this world, it's not overly in your face, but just enough to know the feelings are lasting and mutual.
Amelia gets a job as a secretary but she can barely work her printer. Always having to call tech support to come rescue her print job. She is still within her three month trial period. Amelia prays that all her tech problems don't get her fired right before the office Christmas party.
Very cute, fairly short. Amelia is hopeless with computers and feels bad about bugging the hot IT wolfman, but bribes him with homemade shortbread. After a particularly rough day he agrees to give her some tutoring on the side, and those lessons very quickly turn to other things!
I liked that this was the story of a normal relationship. They met at work, got to know each other, spent some time together… and fell headfirst into lust.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. I wish there had been more of her job struggle but it was a novella so I digress. I would love to read more of this author with full books. Desmond is adorable and I love him.
Super cute and steamy monster romance, love the vulnerability in both characters. I only realized a couple of chapters in that it was based in alternate reality monster Scotland, so definitely advise reading the prologue which I skipped. Look forward to reading mir books by this author.
Such a cute story with lots of steam! I really enjoyed the interactions between them. Desmond is a large cinnamon roll wolf and Mia is a quirky assistant and together they make a super cute couple. 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 on spice!
IT support agent finds love on the job? Yes, please! I loved Mia and Desmond falling for one another! Sexy and sweet, this novella was lovely to read. I’d recommend this for anyone looking for a short romantic romp, but especially for the fans of Rheaverse or monsters!
The ‘world’ in this book is different from others I’ve read. The ML isn’t werewolf he’s just a wolf, who works in IT support and helps the technology challenged human FL. They get together, it’s hot and steamy
3.5 loved the characters, and I wish that there had been more story to balance out the smut, which was certainly smutting. even with two epilogues, the ending still seemed abrupt. But overall this is a delightful, quick read that I would recommend.
I really wasn't sure what to expect from this story, it's quite different from what I usually read! However, I truly enjoyed this cute, spicy, and rather cozy story. I'll definitely be checking out more of this author's books.
This was a sweet cozy spicy monster romance. It was a perfect read before bed. It gave me everything I was looking for in a quick amount of time nice fun spicy reed I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This book was great!! It was a very hot, sexy, office romance that was a delight to read! It was over too soon! I wanted more! They made such a great couple and the nerdy pillow talk was fantastic! So much fun!!!
With all the many many detailed descriptions and multiple instances of snogging herein, I don't think the author has considered how different human and werewolf physiognomy is! (Making out like humans do does not work the same physically when one of you is a wolf. I don't think the author was realizing this when she wrote those scenes!) Too bad, it would have been interesting to read how she resolved those physical differences...
(In this book, the (were?)wolf is never fully human.)
