This was a great read, it was quick and held my attention the entire time. The author takes you on April's journey that is full of raw emotion as she re-lives her traumatic childhood. Although the story is absolutely heartbreaking, it is also a story of one resilient person, who took life's challenges and used them for the greater good. The reader will feel a variety of emotions while reading this book, but most of all, compassion for April and will find themselves cheering for her as she wins in the end. I hope we see more books by this author in the future!

A captivating and moving story

This was an absolutely amazing book of a troubled (that’s putting it lightly) childhood and family life turning someone into an amazing human and amazing mother! Such a great story with so many ups and downs, sad moments moving me to tears and silly moments that made me giggle.
