Picking up right after the last book, Rebecca and her deputies are immediately thrown into a very personal and heart wrenching response. The story is full, I mean FULL, of big moments and actions either several citizens being killed, secrets being shared, and emotions flaring. The ending was not a full surprise as I was wondering about a certain characters behavior the last two books, but his final revelation was unexpected. My biggest two questions though are: 1) Is the one character okay? Especially after the hospital scenes? And 2) how or what happens now with the Yacht Club information!

This is a great series and this was one of my favorite books in the series. My heart broke for the law enforcement team for multiple reasons and my mouth dropped on some information and resolutions! Can’t wait for the next book.

Sad Days for Shadow Island

At the end of Shadow’s Escape, Rebecca and her team are celebrating her win as Sheriff. She receives a call that there has been a major accident. It will throw all involved into varying emotional states. Rebecca and her team try to find the truth of what caused the accident which killed one person and left the other in critical condition. Was the accident an accident? Will the person survive?

Someone is killing the Yacht Club members. Who is killing off the members and why? Which members are killed?

Due to Rebecca winning the election of Sheriff, she is now on the Yacht Club’s hit list. Is someone on the inside helping the killer? Will he get to Rebecca?

I will say that I was surprised and sad to find out the mole in the Sheriff’s office. How will Rebecca handle the betrayal?

Shadow’s Loss is an emotional roller coaster. It has plenty of suspense, drama, grief, action, surprises, twists and turns to keep you up all night reading. The ending was a big I did not see that one coming. Definitely recommend the Shadow Island series.

SHADOW’S LOSS is the fourteenth installment in the Shadow Island Series by Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes. You will be hooked from the beginning and have a hard time setting this book down for even a few minutes.

Meg is in a coma and may not survive. The Yacht Club is cleaning house and bodies are dropping. The head of the Yacht Club is revealed. Now what?

I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. The Yacht Club is going down! If you want to know who is behind all of Shadow Island’s problems, grab this book and start reading.

If you haven't read any of Mary Stone's books and enjoy mystery thrillers, start now. Mary and her co-authors definitely know how to get their lead characters in trouble.

I did receive an ARC of this book from the author and this is my freely given and honest review.  I recommend this book and the entire series.

Knew it

I put 2 and 2 together a few books back. It was so heartbreaking I had tears. How did I know? Because his character becomes less and less as the story goes on. Then you had 2 people who supposedly love each other, but Rebecca kept trying to push him out the door. You don't do that to someone you love. You fight to save that love. I honestly believe they love each other. As for the Yacht Club, knew he was definitely apart of it. Its sad what those people are doing. Hopefully it all works out. Can't wait for the next books to become available. Wanna see how this all ends. Happy reading enjoy a set of awesome writing & great stories. Heartbreaking but well worth the reading. Make sure you start with book 1 don't miss a step.

Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes have written the new Shadow Island book 'Shadow's Loss' and it is just as great to read as the rest of their 'Shadow Island Series'.
A shattering wreck involving a loved woman in the community and a death. The Sheriff's office is looking at every clue they can find and are hoping beyond hope that the one Aqua Mafia member they think could be involved will be the next one they take down.
The book was hard to put down even at 1 AM. There are many clues many questions and many answers, but who will find them?
You will enjoy reading this latest book in the series as much as I did.

Shadow Island Series (Book 1 - 19) *****

I've totally burned through 14 books in this FBI Mystery Series, and I can't put any of them down! It's awesome getting to know the main characters, and I love how each book throws in some new faces - usually the bad guys who end up getting caught or taken out. There are always crazy twists that keep me hooked.

The suspense doesn't stop until the very last page, and it always sets things up perfectly for the next book, so you never feel let down when you finish. With only five books left to go, I can't help but wonder what else Mary Stone has up her sleeve to top this amazing series.

This was the best book of the series so far. I had suspicions, but I was shocked. I think the last time I was this shocked by the ending of a book in this series was when the sheriff's department lost one of their own around book 7 or 8.

Fair warning, there are some truly gruesome moments in this book. The mystery of the Yacht Club is finally starting to seriously unwind. I was so shocked by the ending, I actually forgot Vivian's mother was still in somewhat of a precarious situation.

It will be interesting to see how this mystery continues to unfold, as well as how this revelation will affect Shadow Island.

Mary Stone likes to shock her readers. And voila . Here comes the biggest shock in the series yet and the most puzzling cliff hanger ever. Mary and Lori achieved the unbelievable. How do you review the thriller full of surprises, murder, craziness and deputies in danger without a spoiler?!
I have to admit I did not figure it out. So just a big high five to authors and a big recommendation to read this latest sleep depriving thriller. Bravo.
Beware though, for the first time in Mary’s writing, there is a real detailed gore at some point in this book.

OMG!!!! Really enjoying the interpersonal interactions between the character's in this series and particularly this novel. They look out for their own with a "take no prisoners" attitude. The election is here but some in the town are not happy with the outcome and have 'taken matters into their own hands'. A myriad of events ensue and cherished character's lives are at risk. This novel ends with an unexpected double whammie that leaves you wanting to jump right into the next in series. Can't wait until it comes out!!

Just love, love, this. Series. Bravo!!!!

Wow, where to we begin, did anyone see this coming? I certainly didn't. What more has Rebecca got to do, to find love and family. We all know how good she is at her job, but surely this will knock her back. I really enjoy all Mary Stone's books, but this is definitely my favourite series. I really don't want to give any spoilers, so I will just say please read this series from the start, you will not be sorry. As for me, I now have to wait for the next book. Well done Mary, you keep writing and I will keep reading. Bravo!!!!!

Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes have crafted an explosive thriller. This book develops with heart stopping action and keeps those pages turning furiously. The authors keep the surprises coming with a wallop towards the end. And the last sentence of this book…WOW!

Rebecca has won the election along with her friend Meg according to voting tabulators, but some townsfolk just won’t accept it. Vale, whom has been a constant thorn in Rebecca’s side is one of those doubters. Election night sets some mysterious actions into motion and the newly elected sheriff has her hands full. Lots of lies and deceit she must work thru. This is definitely a book you can’t put down !

captivation that never deters from me reading.

I may not have the ability to read like most readers, but I stick with it. Mary keeps on sucking me into har stories with yearn for me to for the awaiting answers.
I’m 100% so glued with her books, I don’t care to venture other authors.
I always have more to read of her different characters. I have no reason to read other authors. I’m stuck with wanting to read her books.

Shadow's Loss(Shadow Island FBI Mystery Series Book 14)

OMG!!!!!!! I did not see anything that happened in this book coming at all. I cannot believe that very prominent people in the" Yacht Club" are dropping like flies. I can't believe that Rebecca survived another attempted murder. I am sad about Ryker, but I can't wait to see what else he has to say. This book was truly amazing and I can't wait to read the next book.

Rykers betrayal

This read was by far one that kept me interested the most. From the very beginning. The one before Shadows loss was hard to get through the first 7 chapters. So when I started reading this book I was very pleased.
However, I had a feeling Ryker was playing Rebecca and that his parents were part of the yacht club. There was a lot of action from the beginning to the end of this book. I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward ṭo the next book

Violent

I.have read all this series up to this book. It tells of an FBI agent that came to Shadow Island for peace and rest. Then the local sheriff asked for her help on a case. It is best to read this series from the beginning to understand the things that happen. Each story solves a crime, but leads to.the next one. Kindle Unlimited is worth the money to read this mystery and many others.

*3.5 Stars

This book takes a more emotional turn as the team faces personal and professional challenges alongside the case itself. I appreciated the added depth and how the story allowed the characters to feel more human and vulnerable. While the mystery was fairly straightforward, the emotional undercurrent gave it extra weight. A solid and thoughtful addition to the series that adds dimension without losing momentum.

I have really enjoyed the Shadow Island series. And look forward to more.

This book brought some surprises. One thing in particular, I did not see coming at all. Now I look forward to seeing how it plays out. It also left some things hanging, so sure hope the next book in the series is soon to show up.

A murderer is loose on a rampage in her island. great fast moving heart rendering story

A story that is unbeleaveable. A story that tears all that Rebecca holds dear apart. A story that you don’t want to believe because it will break your heart. Read it when you know you won’t put it down cause you can’t.

Kind of a messed up town, A real sadistic murderer

There is a real sadistic murderer, who isn't always a very good murderer. A yacht club that runs the town and contracts out murders, tries to buy elections, just how long will they run the town, and who is behind it all? A very messed up town for sure!

Getting to the end of this series, at least Book 15 not due out until July. This book lived up to the expectations put forth by all the books that preceded it. The plot was captivating and hard to put down. The ending was the best cliff hanger yet, a person let in a coma in a hospital and a character who wasn't who he seemed during the whole series.

Betrayed

The Yacht Club wants Sheriff Rebecca West to lose the election for the permanent sheriff. The Board is also holding an election as well and the Yacht Club is doing everything they can to have their candidate, and current head of the board, including attempted murder. Worse yet, Rebecca faces a betray from a totally trusted person.
