It's difficult to remain professional when your new BL partner is your old crush. When Spin--or "Baby," as his friends nicknamed him due to his affectionate and clingy nature--joins a new Boys' Love production company, he never expects to be coupled with his old crush from university, Park Rardchawat. He knows from experience how easy it is to get too attached to your partner in this business, and, with his sister's tuition to pay for, he can't afford to get lost in his feelings. But with competitive fanservice blurring the lines, it isn't long before Spin finds himself falling hard for his handsome costar. Now, it's his heart as well as his job he has to worry about.
I write medium-to-high-heat MM romance, delivering passionate relationships, undeniable chemistry, and original world-building for readers who love alpha male, found family, opposites attract, hurt/comfort, and happy endings.
It was the artwork on the cover that attracted me to Baby Love in the first instance. I am so glad I found this book as I gained a lot of information into the making of BL- Boy Love Dramas on the streaming channels. I have watched a few of them but mostly felt they came up short on the feels, fades to black mostly.
Having read ‘Baby Love’ and the featured MC characters Park and Spin who are two actors in BL series in Bangkok I got a better background picture of BL movies/Dramas.
Spin had been featuring/shipped in dramas with Bang for quite a while but when it finished they parted ways, but Spin would have liked more.
He gets recruited to another Studio/Agency and is partnered with Park who is a bit older than him. They hit it off personality wise. When some of the scenes in the drama require a lot of intimacy, Ship is not prepared, (he still has his V-Card) so Park suggests practicing when needs to be done.
Park becomes very possessive of Ship and Ship is wondering if he should take a step back as he doesn’t want to get hurt again like he did when the drama finished.
But Park slowly takes care of Ship in the daily filming of the drama and it’s doesn’t take long for both of them to grow a lot closer outside of their work environment.
Park is such a good guy, he is bringing up his 8 year old step sister after their parents were killed in a car crash.
When Ship’s abusive, drunken father turns up to leech off Ship, Park steps ip as do the Studio bosses.
Park and Ship create plenty of steamy moments while practicing and also when they are at home alone. They are so adorable together.
There are several interesting side characters in this drama within a drama and I wonder if author Rebecca James will give them voices of their own.
There are 3 books in this series and I’ve also read the previous 2 which feature characters that also make an appearance here.
It was certainly an informative read as well as an engrossing story about Asian BL Dramas. The Fan servicing actors have to do to keep ratings high, 😰😱🥹.
This book will certainly appeal to those who watch KDramas or follow KPop Boy groups like BTS, EXO, etc., plenty of Fangirling or Fanboying if that is a term.
I really liked Spin and Park. Both have younger sisters and have had to miss out on just being kids. They make a great couple. Their story would make a great BL.
Nice, mostly sweet with an undercurrent of drama - a good palate cleanser. Might see about getting other books from the author. The "terminology" was the "worst" part. I am not sure if this is normal but being greeted by a whole list of terms and then by a list of characters... Look, any specific group doing something specific will develop at least some specific vocabulary (I can't remember what's the right word for it linguistically - not dialect, something... ) but the words were mostly normal. It felt like they were making up special words for normal stuff, which made it easier to understand amidst the cultural differences. It had some pitfalls but none of them sucked me in - it was quite smooth sailing and sometimes, it's nice to just find something that's good, modest but in a nice way, with simple plot and pretty mature characters dealing with life and love... I will say I did not like how that father situation was handled but you'll have to form your opinion on that one on your own, I won't spoil it.
For someone who knows this industry and watches it like I do it’s a really fun story to read, the book would have been a 4 star if it hadn’t been such a slow burn but either way good book, love the fact although they had chemistry they were still a little awkward, cause it’s the most normal thing that they could feel seeing as they’ve just been paired up.What left me really curious was what happened between Prince, Book and Bible.
Another good book in the series. Spin (Baby) and Park were so sweet. There were also.some sexy moments. Every gan girl's fantasy when the leads actually fall in love.
