What happens when the brewery prince falls for the mermaid and ends up endangering his entire kingdom?
Welcome to San Camanez, a humble, peaceful little island in the Puget Sound and home to the McEvoy brothers. Four sexy single fathers—and one childless snack with a beard—who run a brewpub on the beach, raise their kids together, and hope to find love and happiness in the chaos that is life. This is Clint’s story ...
Single Dad and brewmaster Clint McEvoy went down to the beach to drink and wallow. He never expected to find a Hollywood starlet naked and unconscious on the rocks. Nor did he expect to learn that someone wants her dead. He’ll do whatever he can to keep Brooke safe, even if that means risking his heart and his family’s peaceful life to do it.
Brooke Barker didn’t see it coming. One minute, she’s on a yacht, celebrating the release of her latest film, the next, she’s fighting for her life in the frigid Puget Sound. Waking up on Clint’s couch was a blessing she’s not sure she deserves. Now, she needs to figure out who pushed her while allowing the world to think she’s dead. One thing that’s alive and well, though? Her attraction to Clint, and her growing affection for his young daughter.
Can Brooke keep her heart out of the equation, and also keep the McEvoy family safe? Or will hiding on the island and in Clint’s bed bring danger to their doorstep?
A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.
A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, Whitley’s books have all the funny and fabulously filthy words you could hope for.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: single dad, heroine in peril Angst: 😱😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Fabulous start to this brand new Single Dads series by Whitley Cox! Loved everything about it from the flawed hero to all the romantic suspense elements. The character development was fantastic and I found both characters likable and relatable even with their traumatic pasts. All the kiddos in the story really added an extra cute factor. Rescued had an interesting storyline that moved quickly and completely had me hooked to the last page. The chemistry between the two MMCs was super spicy and I look forward to seeing more of them in future books as side characters. Lots of breadcrumbs for future books - I can't wait to read the brothers' stories!
Clint owns a brewpub and rental cabins on the island with his brothers where they live. They’re all widowers (except for Jagger) who lost their wives in a car accident, so now they’re all raising their kids as single dads. Clint has resigned himself to being alone. Then one night, he finds a naked woman unconscious on the beach and saves her. Turns out, she’s a Hollywood actress who was pushed off a boat and is thought to be dead. She wants to remain hidden in the island until they can figure out who wanted her dead, so she’s staying at Clint’s house with him and his daughter. What could go wrong?
Is there anything sexier than a man who will put the smackdown on anyone who hurts his child? The answer is no! More than once, Clint stepped up to defend Talia from threats: perceived or real. In one case he refused to allow a jerk to pass off his bad driving as an "accident". In another, he protected Talia from the truth of his failed marriage and only spoke kindly about the woman who thought that shutting down emotionally was the way to end a discussion. I cannot wait to see how each of these single dad's find their ever after.
If I could have given this book ten stars I would’ve. It is soooo good! I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. This is a new series and for book one it stated with a bang! I am so excited to read all of the books after this one. There is off the charts sexual chemistry between Clint and Brooke who met in the most unique way possible. I don’t want to give anything away so I strongly recommend you read this book and each one that comes next. Because these characters are to die for! Whitley Cox has done it again! Awesome book! Must read!
Don't we all wanna get rescued by Clint, because he is who he is. Sindle dad, handsome, kind heart, and so many other things. Brook le got so lucky to have been rescued by Clint. This book was so good, and I am glad I went back and read it to be all caught up with the story.
Awesome story about 5 brothers who all live near each other, and working closely together. Raising their children together as well, and yearly mourning a loss near to each of them. Clint is by the beach dealing with this difficult time of the year, and he finds himself at a place where he thinks he is seeing something that cannot be real. A person lying on the shore, he rushes into saving mode! What happens when they realize someone may have intentionally tried to hurt this woman. Drama filled, intense, emotional and dangerous situations can cause others to be at risk. Join in and have an amazing time reading this story.
Mystery, Romance, a bit of heartache! This book gives me Disney Moana or The Little Mermaid vibes as it takes place on an island. She is a Hollywood starlet. Come and dive into this 1st book of a new series!!!
Wow! What a great start to a new series! It’s an emotional roller coaster ride! With murder, secrets, mayhem and steamy sexiness you get a great story! I loved Clint and Brooke’s story! Will a brew master and a Hollywood star make a relationship work? Clint, Brooke and Clint’s daughter Talia make a perfect family! Rescued by the Single Dad is a romantic mystery with heart and love. It is a fantastic start to The Single Dads of San Camanez: The Brew Brothers series! I can’t wait for book 2!
I’m loving this new series The Single Dads of Sun Camanez, The Brew Brothers, this is Clint and Brooke’s story. A brew master and the Hollywood starlet, will a fairy tale emerge for this couple. A mystery story about who done it, with romance, heartache and love.
I found this was a read that had all bases covered. It started off with a bit of a mystery. As the relationship develops between Clint and Brooke they still have some objects in front to overcome before they get there happy ever after. And Clint daughter is a real sweetheart. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
If the author had been more concerned with writing more about the story itself, and less entire chapters about sexual relations (and I'm not a prudish person), which are unnecessary. The plot about the attempted murder would have been much more interesting and captivating.
Clint McEvoy, 44, was wallowing in his sorrow on his daughter, Talia’s eighth birthday, the last five years she had not been able to be there. Neither were three of her aunts, since they all passed away in the same horrific car accident. His brother Jagger, 36, stayed over to watch Talia so that Clint could take his time to mourn his ex’s death. You see Bennett, 42, Wyatt, 40, and Dominic, 38, all the wives with Clint's were killed when someone sideswiped their car. Jagger was the only single one; the other brothers were home with their children feeling just as bad, but not as remorseful for the same reasons.
Theirs was pure love. You see they had been having serious problems in the relationship, and she had hated living on the island in the Puget Sound. Each year, it was not becoming more soothing to her, it only made her feel trapped. On this night, he took his bottle of alcohol down to the beach in front of the restaurant, and a brewery that he and his brother own. He went out to the waterline. But it just wasn't having the desired effect. So he set it aside and started scanning the shoreline. When something caught his eye, he blinked several times thinking he must be wrong.
So he got up and started walking toward it. As he got closer he thought his eyes for sure had to be wrong, with only the light of the moon to guide him, it looked like a body. He made it down the slimy boulders to find it was indeed a topless woman who had climbed her way onto that boulder. When he moved her hair out of her face, he knew it was Brooke Barker. The Brooke Barker. Hollywood sweetheart. Big screen phenomenon. Two-time Oscar nominee, Brooke F-ingBarker. His jaw dropped.
“Oh God. Oh God. Oh God, oh God.” Since he wore his standard white tee with a flannel he put his flannel on her. Panic wanted to overtake him. And was still alive but hypothermia was setting in. When he turned her over she had a faint pulse and cuts all over her feet and hands. Her survival skills had to have been strong and despite the pain she went through to climb those boulders. He knew he needed to get her some warmth and clean her wounds. Plus call the doctor. Maybe the police, too. But he started to worry did she try to commit suicide?
Was it an accident that she fell into the water? Or was she pushed into the water and if that was the case this would not be good for her if the killer found out she was still alive. The true crime stories he loved to watch were kicking in and living as a US Marine had his mind spinning. Once he carried her to his house and Jagger helped him do what needed to be done. Calling doc, drawing a warm not hot bath, lots of blankets, a first aid kit, and hot tea. By the time Doc got there, she was becoming more alert. Once he checked her out for a head injury, all her cuts, and checked for any broken bones.
He prescribed salt baths for her feet and muscles for cuts to heal, and aches in the muscles. That's when they found out she had been pushed. After talking things over it would be best if she didn't tell anyone, that she was alive and safe. So Clint decided she could stay there with him and his daughter Talia. That's when all the dads tell the children that it's not safe to tell anyone where Brooke is. That this is a secret only for them. The longer she’s there the more his man and his daughter become embedded in her heart.
There’s just one problem. She carries secrets from her past and he is not a great communicator because of his ex and learned to stuff things down and walk away rather than pry. When it happens for the third time she gets the hint nearly costing her everything. Although I pretty much knew who the killer was the small twists had me rethinking things a couple of times. Such a good story. The relationship she builds with all the motherless children is heartwarming. I didn't see a Jagger book in the lineup. Is one coming? Hmm?🤷
Overall it was a good story, romance, mystery, drama, and spice. And it had elements of family, small-town, and tragedy.
There will be spoilers, so don’t read if you don’t want to know.
But it also had inconsistencies and a major typo that confused me. At one point the author mentions all SIX McEvoy brothers being at Bonn’s celebration of life party, and I was like, what!?!!!! I thought there were five brothers, and I was so confused. Then a few pages later, they mention the five of them again. So yes, typo, but a pretty big one.
Inconsistencies were things like Clint and his (never mentioned in the entire book) dogtags that conveniently glinted in the sun to catch Brooke’s eye toward the end of the story.🙄 seriously!? Yes, he was in the Marines (oohrah) all those years ago, but they never once mention him wearing dogtags, not when he undressed, not when he tells Brooke, not during intimate moments, never. And suddenly that’s what the author goes with in that dramatic scene…? I also wasn’t a fan of the PTSD mentions, it seemed to just be thrown in there carelessly, or just to remind readers the four oldest brothers were veterans.
I also thought it was gross that Brooke took on so many roles from actresses who died or faced tragedy. I thought that was super bad juju. And you would think she wouldn’t want to touch them. I mean I get one, perhaps, but 3 times, and you decided to take them all😬eeew. I get the author was using it to set up a big reveal at the end, but it wasn’t a big reveal by that point. Oh and what’s with all the single parents on this island!? I mean the four brothers’ wives, ok fine. But there were other guys and sisters. It was just a lot of people mentioned that conveniently ended up on this island.
One of the main focuses of the story is who wanted to kill Brooke, and I had always believed it was her assistant, Inez. So it wasn’t shocking. And I think the author leads you there as you get closer to the end, but the facts she revealed just made it more unlikely. If a Hollywood actress got into a car accident that was that bad, I’m pretty sure the police would be able to determine brakes were cut and that would open up a huge investigation. But that never happened so it just didn’t make much sense. And how in the hell did this woman get into the house of the peanut allergy actress!!? And how did she know where to find all the epipens!? Again it just doesn’t make sense. Then Clint manages to catch up with the car…how? He actually gets a visual on it even though it left at least 5+ minutes before he bolts out after it. I guess small town and he somehow just knew to go away from the ferry. So the author took some liberties from real life in order to make her story wrapped up all nice with this evil villain to blame and hero Clint, once again, but it just wasn’t great.
The epilogue is sweet, though two years later! Why the wait? And Clint is 46 now and she reveals a pregnancy, goodness, he’s going to be an old dad (and probably 47 by the time the baby is born). The free bonus epilogue isn’t worth the trouble to sign up and download. It’s super super brief and only about Brooke and Clint picking up a puppy for Talia and Brooke, of course. And it’s a 5-month old rescue puppy from people who found her too difficult to train🙄 That’s barely a rescue, and they make such a big deal about rescuing and not purchasing from a breeder. A rescue would’ve been going to the pound and finding a poor pup there. Sure, sometimes you get lucky, and I guess that’s what happened for Brooke, even though I wanted to slap her every time she was all woe is me, I’m destined to be alone🙄🙄
I don’t think I’ll continue this series, at least don’t plan to anytime soon. Maybe if I find book 2 is free. We’ll see.

This is the first book by this author I have read, and I really enjoyed the concept of five brothers in business together on a small island. The fact that four brothers have children but are now single fathers makes it even more enjoyable. In this book, we meet brewmaster Clint McEvoy, the oldest brother, his daughter Talia, and Brooke, a mermaid Clint rescued—well, okay, she’s like a mermaid. 😆
The romance between Brooke and Clint is not all roses and sunshine, but that pulls you in more, making you want to know how things work out. Their chemistry is off the charts, and I was definitely cheering for them to work out, even though I battled to see how they could.
I like Brooke because she speaks freely and doesn’t try to be a pampered princess, even with her injuries. We gradually learn more about Brooke’s childhood, which shaped her trust issues as an adult—and with good reason, too. Clint is a fantastic father and an excellent businessman with a knack for knowing how to mix different beer blends. His defence of Talia is admirable, and his love for her shines brightly.
The mystery in the story is intriguing, and although I did predict the person who wanted Brooke to die, I was led on a merry chase, ticking off suspects as the story progressed. I might have guessed the correct person but not all of the motive!
It is a terrific story with a fun romance and a thrilling mystery.
There isn't a book written by this author that I don't love. None. So you can guess how I was when this title popped on my Kindle. Let's just say that if you saw me, I would look like I've lost all of my marbles... Whitley Cox is an amazing author and all should give her a chance. She has a unique writing that will keep you on your toes waiting for the other shoe to drop. Rescued by the Single Dad is her latest release and it's the first book from The Single Dads of San Camanez: The Brew Brothers. This book explores the lives of Clint and Brooke. Dayum, let's talk about a beginning with a bang. Clint and his brothers lost their wives in a car accident. And now, they all help each other raise their kids. When Clint is having a pity party at the beach to help ease the pain of his daughter not having her mom present, he discovers a naked and unconscious woman. Brooke is a movie star. She's used to fame and when she's celebrating the release of her latest film, she didn't imagine that it would end with her fighting for her life in the middle of the ocean... Oh my lord. This book was so freaking amazing. I did not see that coming. Perfect plot, well written, super engaging and intense. I thought that it was going to be a sweet book, despite the blurb, but I got so much instead. lol Love the mystery vibe the book gives us. Love the suspense and the unknown. And let's not forget the hot stuff. Oh yeah. These two were made for each other. But dayum, did they take way too long to realize it? What I loved also was the tight friendship each brother had for each other. They are super close and that is amazing. And the kids? Love them all. Overall it was another amazing book, full of love, loyalty, desire, suspense, drama, and crime. Just the way I love it. What an amazing way to start a new series, Whitley. You nailed it.
Oh how I do love me a small town romance series and Whitley Cox makes it an island town to give the series a little twist. We get up front and personal with Clint, the eldest of four brothers, all widows and all with young children. Morbid, but something I think will make this series stand out a bit.
Clint was written as a solid, stoic man, not looking for love necessarily, because he’s busy with his eight year old daughter and the brewery business he runs with his brothers. I loved Clint’s character, wary, however ready to help anybody in need and so sweet with his daughter. Once he finds Brooke Barker, the famous Hollywood star, washed up on the shore of his sanctuary, his home, Clint’s life changes in an instant and not all for the better.
Unlike Clint, Brooke was a character that had to grow on me. I don’t know what it was, but I didn’t find her all that interesting, no matter what Whitley Cox threw into her background, which was a LOT. This chick had all kinds of stuff going on past and present. She was a walking nightmare in my mind but, one Clint invites into his home, because that’s the kind of guy he is.
The blurb says it all about the mystery surrounding Brooke, however I was more interested in getting to know the brothers and the island they call home. I think it was because all of this Brooke and Clint stuff happened within thirteen days and it felt super rushed, feelings-wise. That bugged me as I read.
The book is well written and checks off all the boxes for me, small town, sexy and some angst thrown in. One complaint would be the draggy feeling it gets about a third of the way in. I will admit to skimming a smidge to get to the whodunit faster. I’m hoping the series will be interconnected so we can peek in on Clint while letting another brother enjoy the spotlight.
Loved it from the start & couldn't put it down. Clint & his brothers live on the island bringing up their children following the death of their wives but whilst drinking on the beach one night he makes a discovery that will change his life. Brooke woke up in agony the last thing she remembers is swimming to save her life but wakes up somewhere comfy with a soft voice & a little girl asking if she is a mermaid. She finds a handsome man there explaining how he had found her unconscious on the rocks so brought to his house. After telling him that she had been pushed off a yacht almost drowning & had he not found her she may have died. However, it turns out that she is a famous actress & there is already speculation upon the media that she has died so to try & find out who has tried to murder her they pretend she is dead with Clint's 8 yr old daughter Talia & her cousins all promise to keep the secret. During the short time together Clint & Brooke fall for each other lead to some steamy but also some emotional times & also times when I just wanted to tell him to man up. Brooke has been cautious not to give too much information to Clint about her past but her secrets have to be told in the hope that the person who tried to murderer her can be caught. When Clint hears her secrets he understands why she has been cautious with him. Whilst Brooke's feelings have grown for Clint she has also fallen for his daughter Talia who feels the same & we get to see the connection she has made with all the children. This is a story of love at first sight, fate but also secrets leading to a shocking discovery.
What a great start to what I already know is going to be a great series & I can't wait for the next story.

It is a terrific story with a fun romance and a thrilling mystery.
Clint is a single father just trying to live his life, protect his daughter , & run his business with his brothers after the loss of his wife. What he never expected was for a nighttime stroll on the beach to lead to finding a person washed up. Let alone, the person being none other than movie star Brooke Barker.
Doing everything in his power to save her & help her, Clint lets her stay in his house with his daughter, allowing her the time she needs to recuperate & decide how she is going to handle all of this. What he also never expected was to fall for this woman.
Brooke was just out on a yacht celebrating when someone pushes her over the railing. She does what ever she can to save herself & manages to get to shore. But she hadn't planned for her rescuer to be so handsome & charming & kind. Or for his daughter to pull her in & open her heart. But Clint & his daughter Talia, along with his brothers & nieces & nephews, all manage to open Brooke's heart more & more, making it harder for her to want to leave.
Between falling for one another & the ups & downs of her stardom, Clint finds himself pulling away from her after the downs. But inevitably, he can't stay away too long because in the end, he saves her yet again.
This was such a sweet story of two hurt people finding hope & solace in one another. Add in the suspense of trying to figure out who may have tried to kill Brooke just added to it as well. The characters were very well written & the story flowed effortlessly.
Such a great story, excited to see what happens next!
So excited for the next group of the Single Dads series! After loving the last Single Dads series from Whitley, I was so excited that she was bringing it back with a new group of men, and this first book did not disappoint! Clint and his brothers run a brewery business and have banded together to raise their children after their wives died in a car accident together. Even though he wasn’t happy in his marriage, he still feels like he can’t move on, but all that changes when he stumbles upon a body on the beach while wallowing in the pity of his life. Brooke is a famous actress who is at the height of her career, but when at an event, she is pushed into the ocean and left for dead. Thanks to her past as a swimmer, she somehow survives and is unsure what to do or who to trust since she knows that she was pushed but doesn’t know who pushed her. Clint takes Brooke in and helps her heal while hiding her from the world, and as they spend time together, they develop feelings and Brooke can see herself falling into this life and leaving fame behind, but Clint doesn’t think that she would ever want the slow life he lives. In a wild ride and turn of events, Brooke is found out and then thinks it’s safe to return home after they supposedly catch who is behind everything, but it’s not the case and her life is still in danger. I love that Clint and Brooke get their HEA and I can’t wait to see what happens to the other brothers! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This author has started a new single dad series that is sure to be a hit! This series is about 5 brothers who decided to pull all their money together and buy a giant plot of land on Island and open a brewery. The 4 oldest brothers are military veterans who lost their wives all in the same car accident 5 years prior. The brothers have spent this time building their life together to support the 6 children and their business. The first book is the love life for the oldest brother Clint. He rescues an actress who gets pushed off a yacht into the puget sound. Brooke decides that she wants to “remain dead” in the eyes of the world so they can discover who is trying to kill her. Brooke and Clint have an instant connection. However they need to keep that a secret because they don’t want to cause Client’s daughter any pain when Brooke goes back home. Their connection is so pure that they don’t know anything but how to fall in love with one another. However there are many outside factors that try to drive them apart. The intimate scenes begin early in the book and become less descriptive as the chapters progress. They were well written with the right amount of detail for this book. There are some great breadcrumbs for the plot lines of the series in the first book. I am really looking forward to discovering more about the brothers as the series goes on. The next book is Bennett’s love story and the sneak peak is that he can’t stop the flush of emotions when a beautiful woman rents one of the cabins on their property.
We will start by saying we enjoyed this first story in a brand new series that contains 5 brothers most of whom are single and all with children. We love a series that revolves around large families so this was just the perfect read from a new author. This series is off to a great start and we are loving it. We loved the story from beginning to end it was intriguing and suspenseful and full of mystery and drama and one that keeps you guessing. You have to love a story we the kids of the parents steal the show and Talia was one of those characters we just loved her. These kids and what they got up to sometimes made for some laugh-out-loud moments that we thoroughly enjoyed.
We loved the dynamics of the brother's situation and how they all live together on a small island where they run the family's business. We loved learning how Clint and Brooke met it gave off the mermaid vibes we love so much.
The main and side characters were all so loveable. We loved the romance between Brooke and Clint it wasn't all smooth sailing it was a bit rocky at times although the chemistry from the moment they met was off the charts they just sizzled together.
We enjoyed the fact we got a glimpse into the other characters' lives as we are looking forward to their stories as they come. We could not put this one down the story was quite enjoyable and engaging and we are looking forward to the next book in this awesome series. We always love a story that makes you laugh and this one did not disappoint.
"If the world doesn't see you as brave and amazing, then f*** the world and burn it to the ground. I'll get my f***ing blow torch."
This book follows Clint McEvoy who is a single dad to 8 year old Talia following his wife's death. Clint struggles with his feelings following his wife's death; all Clint knows for sure is that Talia is the most important thing in his life and nothing & no one will ever come before her. He's reserved and protective of his peace, yet when he discovers Brook Barker unconscious on the beach, he'll do whatever he has to to keep Brooke safe. Brooke is a Hollywood starlet who was celebrating her latest film, but not all that glitters is gold. Brooke has been hiding a part of her past and when someone tries to end her life, she has to decide what's worth fighting for: the life she's built for herself or the one she's always wanted. Their chemistry is so good and the spice between them is smoking.
"Come on , Little Mermaid, it'll be a piece of cake. You don't even need to sell your voice for this prince.
I fell in love with Talia as quickly as Brooke did. That little girl is amazing and strong. I love the McEvoy brothers and all their children as well as the relationships that they all have with each other. I can't wait to read the rest of their stories.
This book was so much more than I thought it was going to be. It was sad & full of joy, sweet yet spicy, and suspenseful. I loved all of the characters and I cannot wait to read more of this series. This author may become an auto-read author for me.
✅Single dad ✅Damsel in distress ✅Forced proximity ✅Mystery romance
Clint is a single dad, who went down to the beach to have a drink and wallow, he never expected to come across a naked and unconscious Brooke Barker, “Hollywood sweetheart. Big screen phenomenon. Two-time Oscar nominee, Brooke Fucking Barker.” Just like Dory, Brooke kept swimming after being pushed off a yacht. Because it was either swim—or die. There was no option C. And she wanted to live.
This was a cute lil romance book. I loved how Clint was protective of her automatically and wanted to keep her safe and help her find who pushed her off the yacht. He literally said all the right things. For example “You don’t need to be strong anymore. Let me be the strong one. You crumble if you have to. I’ll pick up the pieces.” And “If the world doesn’t see you as brave and amazing, then fuck the world and burn it to the ground. I’ll get my fucking blow torch.”
Favourite quotes: “There’s a difference between confidence and arrogance,” their mother used to say. “Learn the difference. Notice the difference in other people. Arrogance deters, confidence attracts. Be confident. Know your worth, but remain humble. That is how you will get ahead in the world. Confidence and humility.”
“The tears don’t have to make sense. Sometimes tears just don’t make sense, but they need to happen in order for the world to make sense again.”
You need a dustbuster for your brain. So you don’t get any dust clouds that make you think you’re drowning when you’re not.”
OH My Gosh did I ever fall in love with this book and I already know it’s going to be a remarkable series. I mean what’s not to love: 5 Sexy brothers, 4 of which are single dads of precocious, funny kids who will all steal your heart and 1, the youngest brother who is the best uncle kids could have. The brothers all live on the same property as their brewery/pub on the small island of San Camanez. The brothers are there for each other and help each other as only close family can do.
Book 1 is Clint’s story. It all starts on the night he finds a woman, washed up on the beach who is all but naked and barely alive. He quickly learns she is the Hollywood Starlet, Brooke Barker. He wraps her up and carries her home in hopes of warming her up while waiting on the family’s doctor and his brother to arrive. Once she is able, she informs them she didn’t jump or fall overboard from a yacht that she had been on (like the news was saying) but she was pushed. From here the story takes off in a fun yet suspenseful way. The kids and some of the situations the group find themselves in had me laughing and smiling while the suspense and search for who wants Brooke dead had me on edge.
Grab Rescued by the Single Dad up asap and get in on the beginning of what this reader feels is going to be an outstanding series. I can’t recommend this book enough and I am anxiously waiting for book 2 to hit the shelves.
I love a good mystery romance and this book definitely had that. Brooke is a famous actress that finds herself at the center of the mystery when someone tries to kill her by pushing her off of the yacht she is on. Lucky for her she is a strong swimmer and was able to make it to shore where Clint finds her. He is on the beach trying to drink away his pain when he notices something strange on the beach and finds Brooke. Recognizing her at once he knows that she wouldn't want the paparazzi to get wind of what is happening with her so he takes her to his secluded house to keep her out of the public eye. Having Brooke so close and watching her bond with his daughter really makes it hard for Clint to avoid letting his heart get involved. The two are drawn to each other and his instinct to protect both her and his daughter is strong. The storyline was definitely unique and the writing was good. I also enjoyed getting to know the other brothers that I'm sure will each be featured in future stories and I loved all of the kids in the story. There were parts of this story that didn't keep my attention but I really wanted to know how everything was going to work out. If you love small town romance, a little drama and suspense along with some sexy single dads then you will want to give this book a shot. I can't wait to see what the next book has in store for us.
