Trapped in Yggdrasil, the companions must escape from Hel, the Norse Goddess of Death, pursued by immortal fiends through the darkest realms of Norse mythology, in a divine war where the Gods of only one religion can survive.
I felt like this was the best book of the trilogy. I enjoyed the author’s imaginative interpretation on Yggdrasil and the other realms. I also enjoyed how the author brought some idea of how the afterlife might differ for those of differing belief systems. It was an interesting take and for a fantasy series I think it worked. My only complaint was again trying to turn everything into a love/sex triangle. It all just felt very unnecessary and honestly detracted from the overall story barring very small portions. The ending was a bit cheesy, but I don’t think there was necessarily a better way to end the story with a sensible outcome.
