Lucas Hurschel is an orphaned child living in the recovering lands of Skavania- a battered and broken country after years of fighting. When a once in a lifetime opportunity arises for the boy to attend the yearly festival “Flight”, an airshow featuring the greatest pilots in the world, Lucas packs his things and never looks back. His dreams of following in his parents footsteps and becoming a pilot himself seem closer than ever before, but when he discovers an insidious plot that would engulf all the lands in the fire of war, the fate of the world falls upon a young boy's shoulders. I had fun with "Flight!"

This is a good read for all ages. "Flight" will especially appeal to those who relish various action-adventure genres from World War One biplane dogfighting to Star Wars and medieval and mythological air forces battling for domination - or just survival. At the same time, there is East vs West real-world Cold War undertones cleverly woven in. There are several well-developed characters that you are going to like, brought to life by their recurring catch-phrases and mannerisms, while you are taken on the hero's journey by a young boy who yearns to find his place in a new, but familiar world.

Absolutely adored Flight! It's short and sweet, perfect if you're wanting something light yet still whisks you into the world of childlike wonder.
