We’re out of time. Out of hope. Out of options—unless I risk everything on him.
The outlaw. One not bound by rules or mercy.
With lives at stake, I offer him a deal he can’t refuse. And one I can’t go back on. Bargaining with a demon to save my people, only time will tell if I’ve sealed their fate, or found their salvation.
And mine.

Outlaw is a standalone, sci-fi alien cowboy romance intended for mature readers.
What to A hero who will do anything for his mate, a strong heroine willing to fight for what she believes in, danger, suspense, emotion, tension, chemistry, and a guaranteed HEA all wrapped up in a full-length novel.
*4.35* A mix of Dune, Star Wars, Cowboys and Aliens and blend with a steamy romance. I lost sleep reading this one, and it was worth it.
Found family Alien planet Sand worms Strong fmc Multiple alien species Size difference Unique peen Smokin HOT Biting/knotting/growling Heartwarming and intimate
He is utterly beautiful in an otherworldly way.
Humans crash land on an alien planet, struggle to survive the unique landscape and hostile aliens. One woman is brave enough to seek out an outlaw to help defend their small outpost from bully aliens.
“Can’t run, Firespark,” he growls. “You’re stuck with me now.”
While it was 5 star for a majority of the book, the ending felt rushed and the love story not quite complete.
Huge thanks to RL and Céloise for putting this on my radar!!
Reading this one made me think of all of the similar other books I’ve enjoyed:
Dustwalker by Tiffany Roberts Planet Zero by Lydia Hope Mercy by Catherine Miller Chosen by Stacy Jones Pheromone by C.M. Stunich To See the Sun by Kelly Jensen Cyborg Merman by Amanda Milo. Taken to Sasor by Elizabeth Stephens The last hour of Gann by R Lee Smith
A Wild West feel meets sci-fi meets alien dystopian sort of. I found this book to be so quotable because of how much I enjoyed the main characters and their fight for survival, while they developed a genuinely sweet romance. This is definitely a case of "only soft for her" and I ate it up. The author does have trigger warnings at the front of the book so please mind those. One option is to skip a certain chapter, which I personally did, and while I was confused for a minute catching up to where the next chapter started, it smoothed out quickly (for anyone else who also may want to skip that chapter).
Elsie (h) is a human on this planet that a group of humans were traveling to in search of a utopia. As you can guess, there's no utopia and sadly a tragedy occurs, the planet is a harsh place, and the human settlement becomes a target for aliens who demand payment and mete out harsh punishments as they see fit. Elsie has a small family of a couple friends and a daughter, so when the villains' pressure increases, Elsie chances crossing the desert to look for a mercenary to hire to stand up to the bad guys on their behalf. She finds the Outlaw/Zamari (H) in a bar. He's thinking of hanging up his spurs and doing one last job and he's immediately fascinated by the unknown being who enters the bar. Elsie is cautious and in over her head, but determined and resilient. Zamari is competent af at protecting her, caring for her, and being a badass marshmallow for this little human.
They have to travel back to the human settlement among all the danger and then face off against more danger. While there is a significant amount of violence and action, there are also lots of softer and more vulnerable moments, and the overall pace of the book does feel a little slower at times. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, H seemed experienced (but no details), and h has no practical partner experience (which the H doesn't find out about until in the moment). Yes, there is a daughter as mentioned before and it does get explained.
So Zamari has a reputation where other badass aliens keep a wide berth from him and he lets Elsie know that he can't tell her his name without endangering her, he's that kind of dude. He's big, scaly, chiseled features, and has fangs that react esp when his eyes turn black around blood...but because of their early interactions (and every other interaction after), Elsie feels all kinds of safe with him and it's lovely. Zamari is very solitary and Elsie has shouldered a lot on her own because she's the one who stands up the most, but with Zamari, she has someone who's willing to stand up next to her and he has someone who cares about him. They end up saving each other multiple times too, so good. There are multiple steamy scenes and anatomical differences, including a different kind of knot set up and some blood drinking.
I loved Elsie's friends and her daughter. I was a little confused about some of the side characters in the human settlement, specifically the mayor who's hinted at being shady. The villains are horrendous and while some do get their comeuppance (death, I mean death), the final show-down had so many moving pieces and was so chaotic, that I had a hard time picturing exactly how some of it was happening. But there's not a full resolution to the danger, just handing them a defeat and a threat of something more looming in the distance with some question marks too. There's also a lead-in to a possible friend of Zamari's (Elsie does learn his name btw eventually) making a future appearance so while the ending of this book is a HEA for the main couple (and a very cute ending and epilogue), some threads are left hanging in the bigger picture.
5☆ 'Ordinary' people doing extraordinary things. Feking loved it. ALSO SANDWORMS!
➳❦ As I rev the engine and the bike sputters before taking off, I know today might be the last time I see them both. Because where I’m going is everything but safe. Calanta is a city filled with thugs, murderers, and outlaws. And I’m hoping to bring one home.
The Outlaw has everything I'm looking for in a sci-fi/alien romance. I could not put it down for the life of me, so I'm very sleepy but satisfied today. 😎 Do check trigger warnings, but honestly they sound heavier than it is imo (thanks so much for the helpful spoilers, RLbooks!) Firstly, both MCs were all-stars. Our alien-vampire-Wild-West-outlaw-antihero was the very definition of a dreamboat 'good bad man.' The author wrote his POV so well, and the ways he expressed himself...too many quotes to fit here, see highlights. He's dangerous yet vulnerable, a lone wolf who's devoted, selfless, and hopelessly obsessed with his soft little human. Total book husband material who expresses his love with actions, not just words.❤️🩹 I love me a rough man who has the capacity for deadly violence against the villains while treating loved ones with such gentle, instinctive caretaking. Makes me all gooey.
And that SALOON scene. And that CAVE scene. And all the other FEKING SCORCHING HOT SCENES. 🥵
The heroine was awesome. Elsie is badass but relatable, terrified but brave, and daring but not dumb. It was fun and satisfying and sometimes heartbreaking to root for her little band of resilient, determined women and adopted daughter surviving together in scary dystopian circumstances made infinitely worse by the villainous aliens who need an acid cocktail in the next book's saloon scene. Not feeling bloodthirsty at all rn. Wait. WHERE IS THE NEXT BOOK, MS. WILDE? FEK! *whining pathetically*
➳❦ The only thing that we managed to save was an aluminum mug. The same one she was holding now, clasping it as if it were the key to life. Her life. And probably that’s exactly what it was. The cup survived, and so would she.
When I love both MCs this much I can't help giving it 5 stars. But combine that with powerful, straightforward writing that doesn't need overly purple prose to make it all come alive for you and make you care so damn much? Done and dusted. I highlighted a million things and could have done more but I was so impatient to get to the next page because the suspenseful adventure had my heart p o u n d i n g from the 1st chapter. Super fun buddy read with my book bestie. Ok I need to stop because Real Lifing, but here's a long one (just couldn't help it):
➳❦ It’s a strange sort of thing. One that has me stiff, unable, or unwilling, to move lest I break the spell. She is tending to me. Unexpected warmth bubbles in my chest, extending through my ayahl which wraps around her like an invisible cloak. Since we’re not mating, it has settled for this. And maybe I am too. It’s almost like stepping into a territory I have not yet explored. One I’m finding I do not hate. She shivers slightly as my ayahl writhes around her in a calming wave. Not consciously aware of it, and yet her body responds. I watch it, knowing fully well what that means. That somehow, I’ve stumbled upon a potential mate. That my ayahl thinks I can knot this human and create viable young. Not going to happen. As with all the other times, I will reject this urge. I might be heartless, but I am not selfish. A female like this doesn’t need the trouble a male like me brings.
Enjoy💌

4.5/5 ★ Western Sci-Fi Alien Romance? YES PLEASE! This was a super fun, fast paced good time. It has all the stuff you want... brave FMC with her back up against the wall, looking to find someone to help defend her colony on the outskirts... she finds a bad-ass sexy alien and it's ON.
THOUGHTS I couldn't put it down, desperate to know what happened next. Classic western story -- bad dudes are threatening the outskirts townsfolk, and they need a badass/gunslinger to help them. Desperate woman goes to the bigger town to secure a protector. A wild ride ensues.
Is there stuff that doesn't quite add up? Yup. Did I care? Not one bit. Loved the MCs and just cared about whatever they were up to.
My first AG Wilde book. Can't wait for the next one.
A lot of scenes had me STRESSED, but it’s only cos this author is really good at transporting me into the moment. 🙈
The H wanting to leave lasted for too long IMO but the double epilogue made up for some of the frustration I felt with him.
I loved the h and her lil family. I typically don’t like ‘fiery’ characters because it’s often used to describe senseless behavior being passed off as brave but that wasn’t the case here.
Firespark is such a cute name 🥺

Interesting and unique at least for me at this point. Since I don't read as many alien/monster romances the few I read are usually a wonderful change in topic and plot. And overall I thought the plot/story was really well done, and kept me glued to the pages. The beginning of the story was just what I like, and the getting to know each other part was actually much longer than expected, and worked for this setting really well.
The first 3/4 of the book were a solid 4 stars, and really enjoyed the heck out of it. The last quarter of the story, especially the big climax, lost my interest. I felt disconnected.
BUT I'm still going to be first in line for the next novel :D
In a dystopian world oppressed by the ruthless Nirzoik, Elsie (h) strives to protect her daughter, Kiana, and friend, Estella. Determined to escape their perilous environment and save her daughter, Elsie faces off against aggressors, seeking refuge in a mysterious outlaw, the Zamari (H). Despite Elsie and the Zamari’s tense interactions, a fragile bond develops between them as they navigate danger and a potential alliance against the Nirzoik emerges. Their journey takes them through desolate landscapes and things heat up amidst the challenges they face. Through a series of intimate and perilous encounters, their relationship evolves amidst the challenges of the ravaged settlement. The Zamari's enigmatic past and Elsie's desperate struggle against Nirzoik lead to a climactic confrontation. Hot and steamy alien-human romance exploring sacrifice, survival, and the complexities of relationships in a harsh and oppressive world full of dangers and challenges.
This was a super fun read and had a little bit of everything. Part Western, SciFi, & Dystopian with a lot of adventure, a strong female character and a swoon worthy Hero.
Humans have crash landed on a planet and struggle to survive. The local Aliens take total advantage of the weak humans and one woman decides to take their fate into her own hands. Elsie takes off to find a Mercenary for hire that will help scare away the bad guys and save her small town. Zamari is looking for one last job and is immediately drawn to the female in need of saving. The two travel back to her town and encounter lots of dangerous situations that draw the two together and set the stage for some tension and steamy times. Zamari is such a dreamy Hero - he's super protective and feels like he isn't worthy of Elsie, so that makes for a lot of steamy push and pull scenes. And when that spice finally hits - its so hot. Just lots of fun & adventure and great start to a new series.
Sci-Fi Dystopian Alien/Human MF Mercenary For Hire Wild West Vibes Very Protective MMC Forced Proximity Biting, Marking & Feeding Unique Peen (& Knotting) Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Truthfully, I held off on this as it looked more cowboy alien and wasn’t sure how with him being an outlaw he was going to be with her, but I loved it. I really hope the author writes book 2 in this series.
Kinda' loved this one. Strong silent type, take chance female lead--really resilient storyline. I actually really, really want to read the next in the series, I am not yet ready to depart the Comodre crew.
Don’t judge this book based on my rating. It would probably be wonderful to someone who loves sci-fi stuff, unfortunately that’s not me. It was wonderfully written and really imaginative. I just may not be a fan of alien tropes, but I always like trying new stuff to see what sticks.
A perfect mash up of lots of elements I already love. Sci-fi, romance, westerns, vampires. Yeah this was a fun read. My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer and the ending a bit more fleshed out. I’ll continue this series.
I enjoyed this and read it quickly, but it’ll probably fade from memory just as quickly. Though it was my first alien vampire cowboy, so that’s a new one.
This is the old west meets outer space and I'm so down for it! Gritty, dangerous adventure with top notch characters best new series!🌟💖🔥💖🌟 Elise is one of a few humans left after their colony ship encountered something that made it crash on the supposed perfect planet they were heading for. The planet turned out to be a mostly desolate waste land filled with unsavory characters including ruthless outlaw mercenaries. Elise and what's left of her colony have been living out on the fringes of nowhere for at least a decade, when a group of huge horrible alien thugs decide to raid and force the citizens to work in the mines. Life went from a day to day struggle to a struggle to survive. No one was willing to rock the boat until Elise decide she had something worth fighting for. She sets off to find help and what she finds is so much more. Enter the Zamari a ruthless outlaw mercenary who doesn't understand why he's drawn to the small female human. All he knows is that he should get involved with whatever her problems are but can't stop himself from doing it anyway. Everything she is calls to him but he fights it, because he knows he's a predator one that could hurt her with out meaning to. As he resolves to help her they both struggle with their attraction until they realize danger may take everything they've come to care for away from them . There is so much going on and the end give you a feeling of temporary contentment but you know the story is far from over and that the problems have only temporarily been quelled. Mode danger lurks on the horizon and we will see what unfurls in the next book? Yes yes I want a Zamari outlaw of my own one who is ferocious with his enemies, but has a soft spot for those he loves! More please !!! I can't wait for book two!!!!!!💖🌟🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖
Oh my goodness. I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was, but now I am so HOOKED and I need more books in this series asap. I need updates about Vy'syn and Elsie. I need new Zamari males to come be grumpy badasses for Estella and Viv. Gimmie!
I honestly could have read the entire book in the Outlaw/Vy'Syn's head. He was my favorite character. I loved his personality as it slowly revealed itself. I ADORED how he saw Elsie and his thoughts about her. I loved that despite his aloof and unemotional outer shell that he had a soft center. That he was vulnerable in the way that he felt like he wasn't worthy of Elsie. That a nomad outlaw like him didn't deserve her kindness let alone her trust in him. It only made him more endearing to see him work this out for himself as he learns to accept and even crave the kindness and intimacy that him and Elsie had. I loved the gradual slide into "I can't stay, I can't keep her" to "She's mine" with his feelings but also that he was able to finally settle down. That he was examining his own people and their tradition of having a nomad lifestyle.
Vy'Syn was just impressive. I mean...dude had fangs, drank blood (could go years without apparently), could go two days without water, eating or sleeping if needed, had crazy fast reflexes, had green eyes that he could MAKE GLOW like beams which also even bled to black when he got angry or a whiff or blood and turned on. And YES SIR he was packing some heat in his trouse with not one but TWO KNOTS which came in the form of two rings on his cock. I also cannot forget that he growled quite a bit and eventually purred when he was pleased and whether it was intentional or not the slight shades of omegaverse just made me love him more.
Plus who couldn't love a man who calls his woman "Firespark" in such an adoring way.
Alright, enough about the Outlaw. Yes, I liked Elsie, which was surprising as I wasn't a fan of this author's other heroines. And generally I like about 30% of any heroines I read, if not less. But Elsie was a strong and resilient type of woman. Despite staring down the eventual extinction of her own kind she managed to find the strength to look for another way. To hope there was someone who could help, something she could do, anything to help her people get out from under the thumb of the Nirzoik and their threats. It was reckless what she did by going to find a mercenary to scare the Nirzoik but it was also a last ditch effort because things were so bad there was no other choice but to do SOMETHING or just sit by and continue to watch her people perish or even herself. She had nothing else to lose and everything to fight for. So yeah, I liked Elsie. I think it took a bit to really get a grasp on her personality but by around 30% I was rooting for her.
Another part I really enjoyed was that we got to experience Elsie and Vy'Syn journey back to Comodre and all the perils they had to experience along the way. What is also did was build the trust between them and their chemistry. I think without that journey that as a couple they wouldn't have felt as right or so deeply bonded. It allowed us to see many different facets to Vy'Syn and his response to how Elsie handled herself and him. It was a good foundation for the eventual evolution of their relationship once they reached Elsies home.
Their dynamic definitely had a bit of the grumpy/sunshine vibe even though Elsie herself was hardly a ray of sunshine but in comparison she had more emotions and she was more open with those emotions compared to Vy'Syn so it gave me that vibe at times.
I liked how action packed the ending was and that it still carried the right amount of emotion despite assuming there would be a HEA. I loveddddd that we got TWO epilogues and just how cute the second one was.
The only aspect I felt irked by, although it was minor, was that the author didn't find a moment in the early chapters to explain properly what Vy'Syn's "Ayahl" was. Perhaps they wanted to leave it up for interpretation more than defining it, which was fine too, but it left me a little boggled through most of the first half because of how prominent the Ayahl's presence was. By the end Vy'Syn finally explains that it was like a "Sixth Sense" when Elsie finally asks outright. So, my original opinion that it was this sort of primal instinct within him was close to accurate. As it also seemed alive and almost sentient with how often he mentioned watching it physically reaching out to embrace Elsie like a cloak or to caress her despite that Elsie couldn't see it herself (but she could sense it) since she didn't have her own Ayahl. It was very mysterious but also unique and I enjoyed the role it played in the story and Vy'Syn the character.
And with that said, I was genuinely surprised how much I enjoyed this book. Only because my first introduction to this author was her "Captured Earth" series which I only read the first two books of before (forgetting about it) putting it down for another time. I even remember beginning book three of that series but never getting but a few chapters in before losing interest. So, for me, this book was just better in every aspect.
For reference, in my reviews of the two books I managed to read from the "Captured Earth" series I main impression with this author and that series was that I was left underwhelmed. I felt that the writing was good, the world building decent and even the story itself unique, but... I was disappointed by the lack of true emotion from the characters and how they read across flat. It was hard to connect to them, particularly the humans in those stories as I expected that from the aliens.
I am very happy that I gave this author another try. This book was just night and day for me compared to the CE series. Truly. I can see the same writing, of course, but something about this one felt different. It read differently too. More importantly I FELT genuine emotion from these characters, and I personally felt their pain as if it were my own. I connected, and that was the difference maker.
The Wild West and an alien vampire outlaw? Add in steamy romance and giant sand worms and evil alien beasts. You may think that there is no way these things can go together but I am here to tell you that this novel absolutely succeeded in doing just that.
This novel was incredible and I really hope that the series continues after this one. I was on the edge of me seat and usually I don’t even like too much action and violence yet I found myself reaching for this book continuously. The pacing of the story was perfect, with moments for Wild West action but also romantic development and dynamic characters. I thought our fmc was incredibly resilient despite all of the challenges she faced being prey to most other aliens yet being the only one in her colony with the strength to get up and change things. Our mmc was every bit of a dangerous outlaw as he was a male trying desperately to traverse the planet in search of the one unnamed thing that all of his vagabond kind are looking for. (Spoiler it’s her lol)
I could go on for longer about every aspect I thought was perfect: the tension between them, the world building, the journey back to the colony, etc etc. but it would take too long and frankly just read this book because it’s amazing. Be warned that this definitely is an action packed book, not a light read and does have some themes that are dark in nature. It’s also definitely sci-fi which may not be everyone’s vibe but I think you should keep an open mind! Thanks author I am hoping to read the second one in the future!
Very enjoyable read! Outlaw is the first of what appears to be a promising new series from A.G. Wilde, one of my favored scifi romance writers. I love interconnected standalones and enjoy a scifi romance that has some tension and stakes rather than being pure fluff (though I'll read that too!) so this hit a lot of marks for me. The setting was interesting, with the sort of wild west crossover vibe, and the world-building was just enough, intriguing but not overwhelming.
There were just a couple of things that kept it from being a five-star read. I would have liked to know a little more about the Outlaw and his past and motivations, I think that would have rounded him out as a character more. Elsie's attraction to him came on rather suddenly in a time when she would have been stressed and afraid and, I would think, really not in the mood, so that was an odd choice. It felt there were odds and ends that weren't tied up by the end, mainly the urgency in getting medicine for a sick character, but perhaps we will get answers in the next one for this series.
I hope Viv gets a book--I'd love to see her . Will be keeping an eye out for sequels!
Love this new book by author A.G. Wilde, Outlaw, which pulled me in from the opening pages. The action takes place on the desert planet Ivaria 10 where human colonists have tried to establish a settlement on a small part of the world but suffer under the threat of the alien Nirzoik who bleed them for credits and have the colonists living what isn’t a life under their constant threat. Another incident with the Nirzoik sets things into motion for MFC Elise and she sets out for the lawless city of Calanta to find a mercenary for hire. The one who actually finds her is an alien outlaw Zamari (we find out his name later in the story) and Elise awakens his Ayahl in ways that mystify him. The writing is exquisite, the world building expert, the adventure, action, and suspense, laced with emotion as characters perfectly crafted are woven into a hard to put down immersive read. Can’t wait for the next book that mirrors in a way the classic western the Magnificent Seven which the author has turned into a classic of her own with the start of the Midnight Seven series!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book wasn't bad, but it was overdescriptive, which made it repetitive, and the story dragged for at least 50% of the book.
If you like reading about characters stranded in the middle of the dessert dealing with the weather, sandworms, and some vandals, you're going to love this one.
With that being said, I liked the other half of the book way better. It was much more balanced in terms of romance, drama, and action. Etc. The first half was kind of stagnant to me.
I liked the characters, especially the main female character. Elsie was capable, adaptable, and smart.

I wish we could have gotten more on-page development between Kiana and the Outlaw. When she referred to him as "papa," I was all skeptical about it. I just couldn't see how she could consider him her paternal figure in such a short amount of time.
The world-building is not precisely innovative. It was more like a combination of some genres. In this case, western, fantasy, and sci-fi. It has potential, though, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
I really enjoyed this book, mostly because it was really good in what it proposed to be. It was interesting and well built, without being overwhelming. I was completely engaged the entire time. It reminded me a lot of Zoey Draven’s ‘The Horde Kings of Dakkar’ that I read a few years ago and adored. It has a back plot that will continue into the other installments of the series, but still has a sufficient happy ending for this couple. The main couple was so good together. I love heroines that are strong and resilient, despite all the difficulties. This heroine was braver than anyone in her colony and actually managed to fight and save them all. The hero was so intriguing and intense from the beginning. I wish we had gotten more about his backstory, because he seemed to have a lot going on. But still, they were amazing together and both deserved their happiness. My first book by A.G. Wilde was absolutely a hit, her writing was smooth and engaging. I was easily submerged into this new world she built and its characters. There were still a lot that could be explored in the next installments of this series, so I will definitely keep an eye out in the future.
Listen, I read a lot of books. Like - :a lot:. I've even read a few of your other ones this year.
So it's very rare that I bother to review one and even more rare when Im shell shocked enough to givr it a solid 5 stars across the board.
It hardly ever happens.
But you damn well did it. My God. The pacing. The world building. The tension. I can't remember the last time I took my time on a book because I didn't want it to end.
I was so worried it wouldn't be an HEA. I was legitimately scared that you'd have him ride off into the sunset and THAT was going to be the straw that somehow collapsed this beautiful house of cards.
But you didn't. You finished this alien western in a blaze of glory that had me exclaiming well after I was done that it was probably the best book I've read all 👏 year 👏. ( I mean I've already read 78+ and we're not even into October yet!).
Please for the love of God I need the next one. I'm begging you. Take my first born but do not make me wait years for a repeat of this caliber.
Outlaw features Elsie, human and The Outlaw/The Zemari, alien. Elsie is part of a human settlement that seems old timey/western (except on an alien planet with blasters and rocket bikes) and is ruled over by a gang of aliens extorting them. When things take a turn for the worse, she leaves the settlement to find a bounty hunter to help with the gang. The Zemari, who will not reveal his name, takes her up on her offer and together they start a journey back to her settlement.
This gave me all the western vibes and I loved it. I know it was an alien planet (with alien tech and alien anatomy) but I kept picturing a spur wearing cowboy on a horse helping Elsie. The Zemari is an excellent shot and has that cowboy stoicism down.
I loved the relationship between Elsie and The Zemari. Fated Mates is my fave and I loved the extra addition of his ayahl/sixth sense helping him sense her. He was so into her, I enjoyed his total devotion.
Overall, an excellent alien romance I didn’t want to put down and I will for sure be keeping an eye out for more in the series!
Elsie is one of the few human colonists that have survived their colony ship crashing on a rather uninhabitable world. As a famous villain once said, sand is awful. Her people are threatened by an alien race that not only demands protection and restitution payments, but also has taken women. Elsie has no choice but to seek someone to help her. She ventures to a dive bar of sorts and gains the attention of everyone. Even the Zamari alien known as the Outlaw. Their adventure across the sands is exciting and gripping. The environment and setting is interesting and varied, as are the different types of aliens mentioned. You see the different types of personalities in the human colonists. The fighters, the survivors, and even the ones that choose to bury their heads in the sand in hopes of avoiding conflict. Elsie is a force of nature and the connection she has and builds with the Outlaw is well done. I thought this book was part of a series but it seems not. I for one would like to know more about their colony and the continued threat. 5 stars.
