Lucky for us, Steve Hudgins has a limitless imagination. This latest collection ticks all the boxes: monsters, crazed lunatics, vengeful spirits, aliens, and more. My favorite was The Creepy House Next Door. I’ve already put in my request for a longer version of the story. I’m finding this author’s style is somewhat addictive, like potato chips. It’s impossible to consume just one scary story. Bring on volume 3!
Ahhh alas it has been a while since I read a Steve Hudgins book... I got an itch so I decided to scratch it with this one, since the first volume was so good.
We're back with 21 new "true story" style tales. I absolutely love these types of books and Steve's writing is always fantastic.
Some of my favourites were: * The Bait * Darkness in the Dungeon * You're Going to Die Tonight * The Creature from the Black Forest (I was very happy to see an old character from a previous series by Steve in this one). * The Ouija Board * Is Chivalry Dead? * My Roommate * The Wrong Bus
Some monsters are not to be toyed with as death is their business. Some people who look affable on the outside are creepy on the inside as a ten year old boy discovers. Sometimes haunted seminaries and creepy houses are best given a wide berth. These and other short stories had me completely glued with the description of the eerie atmosphere and the dread. Steve's stories are always entertaining and scary.
Sorry not good at reviewing and mine are short. I can tell everyone word by word vocally but typing not so much. Anyway if you like short stories that is horror this is for you. 5 anthologies out of 5
Like short stories - hear for a quick read before bed. These were interesting and some were very original ideas! Enjoyed them. Read 1st and now plan to read 3rd collection.
