I am a college student who recently struck up an interest in AI. I'm studying cloud computing & wanted to find a way to get a quick lay of the artificial-intelligence-land. When it comes to reaching that goal, I believe this books does what it needs to do. It is very quick & concise & efficiently gives you a lot details. What it lacks in informational depth it makes up for in quantity.

I read it from start to finish. It's the first edition, so I made sure to cut Frick some slack. Aside from some strange/inconsistent formatting decisions, the only true typo I found was on page 35 in the summary. At times the information does get repetitive, but that is by design as the book was meant to be both a general introduction & a reference for quick information.

At the end of the day, for a introductory book on AI (an incredibly complex topic) that spans 150 pages, I enjoyed it. I acknowledge that I read during this time of life where I am deeply interested in AI; its certainly possible I'm a little biased. However, because Frick's work I have a better understanding of AI & most importantly, I know where to go & what to study in order to deepen my understanding. I hope to seeing new editions!

Well structured and organized and a good introduction to AI if you don't know much.

There are some minor mistakes such as some answers showing up in the quiz, and one of the questions having an empty fifth choice. The final summary also says something about how it hopes it was a intro to assembly language and then later mentions database management which had nothing to do with the book lol. Seems like the template text wasn't updated appropriately for this book.
