With its plethora of supernatural and otherworldly myths and legends, I suppose it was only a matter of time before SEAL Team 666 set foot on good old Blighty’s shores. Britain has such a rich mythological heritage to pick from, I’m sure Weston Ochse was spoiled for choice.

Like the other books in this series, Reign of Evil is all about the ride. Don’t over think what’s going on. Just sit back, relax and prepare for the mayhem. As I’ve now come to expect, this author knows exactly what it takes when it comes to delivering on killer action scenes. Once again he proves he has the mad skills describing breakneck, kinetic combat with flair. You’re almost frightened to take a breath in case you miss something. The best thing about all this unfettered chaos? No one single character is safe. In Ochse’s world, actions have consequences and characters sometimes suffer because of them. Too often I read books, especially thrillers, where characters have a near super-human ability to shrug off all but the most serious of wounds. Not so here. The members of the team, and their new allies, suffer more than a few serious beat downs. Having them on the back foot from time to time helps to establish them as the underdogs and you can’t help but find yourself rooting for them all. It does help that their ultimate nemesis is a proper nasty piece of work as well.

There is always so much to enjoy with each new SEAL Team 666 novel, and this latest addition is no exception. It’s nice to see Britain and Ireland both have their own groups for dealing with supernatural threats. Once you are a couple of books into a series like this, you want to see an expansion on the original premise. Starting to include characters from other supernatural military organisations is a nice touch. Here’s hoping Triple 6 get the opportunity to work along side Section 9 and the Finn McCools again. I like the idea that there are yet more groups like this elsewhere in the world that have yet to be introduced.

As an aside, I’ll even admit there is still a certain amount of pride that the leader of the team shares my surname. Yes, I do know he is a fictional character, but I don’t care. I still think it’s cool. He kicks serious ass.

This novel ends with a nice little coda to events that suggests a much larger story arc is starting to develop. I look forward to seeing where this goes in future novels. While I’m waiting for the next book in the series, can someone please get Hollywood on the phone and demand an update re the proposed movie version of SEAL Team 666? I need to see these characters on the big screen, with lots of HUGE action scenes and a suitably bombastic score. Actually, IMAX 3D would be pretty fricking awesome as well while we’re at it. I’m sure I read somewhere that The Rock was interested? Why hasn’t this happened yet movie gods? Damn you! WHY?

What with hell hounds, witches, warlocks, threats to the British crown, more Tuatha De Danann than you can shake a big stick and the odd Saturnalian orgy thrown in for good measure this is all great fun. If only every book I read revelled in the sheer joy of pure escapism I suspect the world would be a far better place. If you are looking for thrills and spills with a darkly supernatural twist then look no further, you’ve just found it.

3.5 stars. All-in-all a worthy addition to the series. There were a few plot issues and the ending felt somewhat abrupt, but if you're a fan of the series, and the author, then read this book. You won't be disappointed.

From The Description:

Reign of Evil, the third installment in Weston Ochse's series starring the Navy SEALs who handle supernatural threats, with film rights optioned by MGM

Legend holds that when Britain is in its darkest hour, King Arthur will return to save the country, if not the world. That legend is dead wrong. When a Grove of Druids sacrifice the lives of a group of innocents, including the fiancée of a member of SEAL Team 666, the ancient king is brought back from the dead and sets his sight on subjugating humanity and cleansing his land of all who are not true Britons. Because of political sensitivities, Triple 6 is ordered to stand down, but that order is ignored by one of them seeking his own vengeance. Now, the members of America's elite supernatural-hunting team must decide what is more important: their orders or their loyalty to their own team member.

When I was offered an advanced reading copy of Reign Of Evil I jumped on it! Having read the previous books in this series I knew it would be a fun ride. In this book the members of Seal Team 666 have to help one of their own find out why his fiancé was killed and in doing so also help the few remaining members of Section 9 and a lone witch save England from the forces that want to restore it to it's former glory through ethnic cleansing. At times heart-breaking at others action packed this is one hell of a ride. A fun and fast paced story for anyone looking for a great read. I have only one question for Mr. Ochse, When is the next part coming out??? Reign Evil will be out on October 14,2014. A solid 4.5 star read.

Loved this, but why use Dick Van Dyke? I like him, so having him being used as a dupe/bad guy was just hard to cope with. Other than that, WOW! What a fantastic book! I admit that I am clueless about weapons & all the military gear, but it flat out did not matter. I still understood what was happening, have serious crushes on these characters, really want happy ever afters but know that's not the real world, & generally loved every moment of this book. I rarely reread books, but I've already read this 3 times & am planning to go back this afternoon for the 4th time.

Best of the series so far, and that's saying a lot.
I love military horror, and Weston Ochse is setting up this series to be one of the must-read events in this genre.
Fast, great characters, depth, well-paced, and compulsive reading.

Last year I was introduced to, to be honest, one of the coolest concepts of military fiction. Seal Team 666. And I think we all know what 666 stands for. This isn't your ordinary Seal Team no, this group of America's elite battle it out on the supernatural plane. So far Weston Ochse has written two very successful Seal Team 666 books and actually this third installment completely escaped my attention until Titan dropped this book in the post for me. Just as the two predecessors, Reign of Evil is once again a surefire winner. This really is something of a guilty pleasure for me I think. Is there anything cooler than Seal in full battle gear fighting the supernatural? As to be expected there is a heavy emphasis on the military aspect in Weston Ochse books but Reign of Evil also has a most interesting storyline and this makes it for me the best Seal Team 666 book so far.

The story of Reign of Evil picks up the events of Age of Blood, Seal Team 666 has gotten back to base and debriefed and everything so far seems normal, they are all getting ready once again. When one member of Seal Team 666, Jack Walker, is being field test to see if he is battle-ready he gets a very disturbing phone call just a few second before he is about to make a jump out of an airplane. His fiancee, who spend time visiting a friend in Great Britain, is found dead and all evidence doesn't point towards an accident. She was brutally murdered. Now comes the hard news for Jack and the other Seal Team 666 members, this is out of their jurisdiction and they are asked to keep their distance... well as if... Jack being the Jack he is travels to Britain to find out just what is going on. And once Jack lands he starts to discover that there is a lot more going on than meets the normal persons eye. Because Jack's wife to be was murdered by a group of zealous Druids who tried to invoke the return of the Wild Hunt, led by none other than King Arthur. The Wild Hunt is an historical event that is said to "cleanse the land of all who are not true British", yes not actually a nice thing now is it? Maybe you can already guess what the cleansing might entail, to be honest it is actually quite dark. Cleanse all of those who are not truly British includes all immigrants that have currently live in Britain... This is the main premise of the story and Weston Ochse fully addresses the Wild Hunt subject and all that is accompanied with it. The whole story surrounding this and the different characters and the locations of England are all shown in a most interesting spotlight. Weston Ochse definitely knows how to write an story that punch you in the face and says you need to read me now. And dont stop.

The Wild Hunt aspect has featured in some others books that I have read but never have I read about it in the way that Weston Ochse describes it. From the start up in the grove of the Druids, and the massacre that was the result to actually embodying King Arthur and setting the Wild Hunt loose was done really skillfully and here the true horror element comes to the front. Next to the focus on Jack's and the rest of Seal Team 666 and the British counterpart of supernatural ops there is also an alternation to several events surrounding the Wild Hunt, more specifically how King Arthur goes about massing his army this, bit by bit you learn more and more about what it actually means. To be honest Weston Ochse scared me in this. How several people were amassed as dogs in the Wild Hunt gave me some serious chills. Just spot on in this supernatural setting.

As for the characters. This is already the third book and though we have seen some leave and new ones join the Seal Team, I have to say that the characterization in Reign of Evil was done very nicely. We have seen the good and the bad and the very bad moments of many different characters and as undoubtely in real life this brings soldiers closer together it did also allow me to connect better with them. In the earlier reviews I already praised Weston Ochse for showing the camaraderie between different characters and that it makes his books and the character cast highly enjoyable to read. Well this is precisely what you will get in Reign of Evil once again. Jack is firstly going alone abroad but Seal Team 666 wouldn't be a band of brothers if they wouldn't help him out. This is really a plus of the story seeing how several characters be it Walker, Holmes, Laws or YaYa or even the dog Hoover, interact with each other. There are some sharp remarks to each other but also many funny and humorous comments to keep everything lively.

I already mentioned that this third book was the best so far. This for me is I think owed to the establishement of the storyline in the first two book, firstly introducing the setting of the series in the first book and bit by bit, even already in the first book and continuing in Age of Blood to build on this foundation, exploring the world further and further and moreover as I put an emphasis on exploring the characters and the supernatural world of the Seal Team 666 universe. Really well done, this is by far one my favourite military/supernatural/urban fantasy series so far.

Reign of Evil is short is a fast paced and action packed ride but mroe over it is just plain awesome. Once you embark you won't be able to stop it until it is over. Which is far too soon. In this already third installment of the Seal Team 666 series Weston Ochse has really out done himself. When I tweeted to him that this was the best book so far he said "you just like it because I bulldozed through England. Lol" Yes it is. There are no boundaries that Weston Ochse is afraid to break. Showing partly his own vision on just what a Wild Hunt entails was done in a most detailed kind of way that will get you scarred. big time. Weston Ochse has created a very interesting take on military and supernatural fiction and this Seal Team 666 series readily stands out and I must kindly urge everyone who likes their action raw with a supernatural twist to pick up these stories asap. They won't disappoint. Just a last note: Weston Ochse did leave Reign of Evil on a bit of a cliffhanger. Lets see what the next mission of Seal Team 666 will be.

I put off reading book 3 has when I noticed it was already a couple years since the author released the book not like that has either the story was going to a rush ending, or might end in a cliffhanger. I did finally get to read do found I was some what right.

The story is based a series of Radom events that if one didn’t happen seal team 666 would never have be involved or even know what had happen till it was already done. I felt the author just used the most emotional tragedy for the team to get the ball rolling witch left a fowl taste in my mouth. The plot lines felt overly complicated and underporpused in that were easily overpower by SF teams. This was later shown in somewhat anticslmatic finish to author that the final battle happened in a single chapter.

The story closes all the Plotinus but the epilogue was just dumb when you read has also because I really doubt the author is going to write book 4 any time soon if ever,

Author made better use of building up to big events than the last book, but it still felt kinda rushed. There was near 100 pages of buildup to what at first seemed like the climax and then like 20 pages for the actual climax. It was good, but it could have been elaborated on and been so much better.

This was still enjoyable though. Far less spelling and grammatical errors and very few inconsistencies helped a lot. The historical content mingled with the supernatural made for an enjoyable read.

This book was awesome! Loved it. It started out with horrible death scene. Jen, Walker's fiance, thinks she's at Stone Henge to celebrate Winter Solstice but it soon becomes evident that something is wrong. Then all hell breaks loose and it doesn't stop till the end of the book. At times it was so sad when characters you like die. The epilogue left a big opening for another book, I hope. A great read.

Weston Ochse, why haven't you gone back to this series?! SEAL Team 666 needs a paperback release in the USA. I also think we need more stories about Team Triple 6. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this series. I look forward to reading any and all books Mr. Ochse releases. Read this series, you won't be disappointed. Good stuff, Maynard!

Hello, this is another good one written by the same man about the same good guys fighting different bad guys, demons, witches, etc. Said action is on par with previous books and definitely deserves a reading. Thanks.

It has been a very long time since I could pick up a book and finish it in 4 days. There was no way I could put this one down without having immediate " I need to know what happens next! " syndrome. People will stay up and binge watch a TV or movie series and this is what I just accomplished, but with a book.

Reign of Evil is the absolute best of Weston Ochse's SEAL Team 666 series. As I was reading, it felt like watching one episode of "24". Jack Bauer could wreak havoc if you happened to be away from the TV for a couple of minutes. Now we have Jack Walker and Team 666 along with it's dwindling British counterpart, Section 9. It was a very cool surprise because I hadn't considered other countries having their own SpecOps Supernatural Beast Busters.

There was so much mythology, folklore, and possible double crossing characters that you had no idea who would try to beat 'em all. I won't provide any spoilers, but if you've seen the Denzel Washington movie "Fallen" with John Goodman, you should get a glimpse into the raging battles that ensue.

Weston has a way to insert parts of the story that make you think outside of the book, which I think lend to his high and tight story telling.

If you've not read the other SEAL Team 666 books, I suggest you buy them all and read them in order. You certainly don't have to read them in succession, but it helps understand the characters and their interactions with each other.

I wish I hadn't read it so quick because now I'll have an anxiety ridden wait until the next appearance of the Navy's secret monster hunters.

Recommended? YES. Get all three! (SEAL Team 666, SEAL Team 666: Age of Blood, and SEAL Team 666: Reign of Evil. When you're done with those, grab a copy of Grunt Life. Trust me.

King Arthur has always been a favorite character of mine, but what they do with him here is very different from your usual mythic tale. Yes, there is almost unstoppable evil, leavened by some humor; there is heroic effort matched by unspeakable violence and there is tragedy followed by hope. These are things I have come to expect from a Weston Ochse book and I was – not disappointed! These are not Disney fairies, these are the regal, dangerous, tricky Fae of every tale with a grisly moral and they are just as untrustworthy here. For every gift they grant, there is a cost and some unscrupulous billionaires have no problem with other people paying that cost if it brings King Arthur back to rule an England cleansed of invaders (make that immigrants). England’s version of Seal Team 666 is Section 9 and their team has been purposefully decimated by budget cuts and transfers, such that Seal Team 666 is a welcome addition in the fight against Hellhounds, the Wild Hunt and Merlin. I can’t give any more of the plot away because it is so awesomely horrific; but I love these stories and while this one has more tragedy than I wanted, the end leads me to believe both Seal Team 666 and Section 9 will live to fight another day – yay!

Excellent work, Reign of Evil is another well-written book in this series and one could argue that this entry was notably better than Age of Blood, the previous book in the series.

First and foremost, the beginning is brutal and unexpected, kudos to Mr. Ochse for that bit of storytelling enough to make George R.R. Martin blanch. Nevertheless, the characters throughout are well developed, whether they are known commodities or they last just a chapter you get a good feel for them as people, which makes their troubles weigh even more on you the reader as they are no longer just a face in a crowd.

You can feel the whole series building to something big, but it is still lurking beneath the surface at this point. I am anxiously looking forward to the next book in this series and I definitely recommend this to anyone into genres such as Urban Fantasy/Monster Hunting or Military Fantasy.

Age of Blood is a perfect sequel to SEAL Team 666, and Reign of Evil is an absolutely perfect end to the trilogy! This one starts out with a jolt and immediately reels you in, and it does not let go until the very end. Familiar characters return and new ones are introduced, and the well-paced narrative seamlessly transitions between a number of points of view, with the lead being the primary focus, of course. Once again the author's military background and first-hand knowledge add a high level of credibility to the technical aspects of the story, in turn making the supernatural elements appear more "real", and the depth of the backstory surrounding said supernatural elements takes it to a whole other level. Yet again I closed this wonderful novel with a smile on my face, and I unequivocally recommend it to any other fans of the genre!

Weston is a great writer. His military fiction is spot on, and Reign of Evil proves it. Who else could combine special paranormal military units from 3 countries, Celtic myths, a coven of ultra-conservative politicians, witches, demons hounds, and King Author in one story and make it work? The action is non-stop, the plot is filled with twists and turns, and his penchant for thoroughly researching the topics blends myth and reality seamlessly.

If you haven't read any of Weston's Seal Team 666 novels, get them.

I continue to like this book series. Some of the writing is a little ropey and the end seemed a little rushed but I thought the twist in chapter 1 was an excellent way to start the book. It is an entertaining book and I look forward to book 4.

I also saw that The Rock optioned these books a few years ago - I'm not surprised I think the concept has been written with one eye on a film / TV adaption.

Incredible book and engaging storyline

I began the seal team 666 several weeks ago and have voraciously consumed all of the novels up to this point. If I had any criticism, it would be the books go by so fast that you wish they emerge twice their length!! Can't wait for the next installment.

Probably give it a 3.5 overall rating. Liked it; especially enjoyed the new characters we met in London, but overall very dark, and not enough of Hoover. Even though the book has supernatural elements, the gritty realism is what didn't leave me, even after I closed the book. I had never heard of someone being "curb stomped" before, but that was scarier than most horror novels I've read.

I honestly loved this entry in the series. Despite the historical error of confusing Stonewall Jackson for Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans, I loved everything else. The action was trilling, the heartache was gripping, and the revenge was satisfying. Dwayne Johnson better start doing something with the rights to the series or give them back to Weston because I need another book!

Ochse's shtick may be getting a little tired. In this, the third of the Seal Team 666 novels it feels hurried and lacks any real suspense. I still had fun with it, but it was something of a letdown.
