Nice little story. Recommended by Michael Bunker on Facebook and I'm glad I picked it up. Read the story in just a few minutes and its a nice little lesson about learning to cherish the little things. I too collect books and value what the book means to me specifically more than the potential value of the book itself. Well done.

In a fit of whimsy, I hereby announce I will give everyone five stars, but the reviews may not reflect it.

Pretty good coming-of-age story about a boy who finds a valuable Batman comic in his deceased Grandad's bedroom. It's really short, but it's worth a read. Has a ring of autobiography about it.

Nicely done. Summers can develop a character and have you totally pulled in faster than a speeding bullet. But this story revolves around Batman. Loved it!

For me a good short story is the sort that completes -- and at the same time makes you want more. So it is with No. 38.
I must confess I thought the story would be about a train. Then once the comic book references started I thought it might be another comic book themed work.
It is none of those things. It is a coming of age short story that reads fast and hard like a hailstorm on a hot summer day. There are those things worth saving and perhaps, as Summers’ protagonist learns, they are saved despite the ravages of time, if we endure.
This is a haunting book that delves into those small events in our lives that define who and what we are -- and what we can become.
Two thumbs up. This is a keeper
