I think readers, especially grade school age, are going to love Rebekah and I also feel a lot of them would want to be just like her and try out their detective skills. As Rebekah tries to find out who is stealing flowers from the garden her adventure begins. The author does a great job with this story and I even think this would be a good book to read aloud as a bedtime story to younger kids. Included in this book is a sneak peek into a few of the author's other works, all of which look very interesting.
This entertaining story is about a curious little detective, named Rebekah, who investigates why flowers from a community garden are being stolen. This book is a first of a series and is great for children digging into chapter books for the first time. I really enjoyed the author’s voice throughout the book and look forward to reading more.
I am 10 years old and I loved this book. I strongly recommend it to those kids who love detective stories. But what I did not like was that there were a lot of mistakes in it.
This is a cute little story for my daughter. There are a few spelling mistakes which shouldn’t really be in a book for children learning to read. Another downside is that the story only constitutes 48% of this book, the rest is sample chapters from other books.
Reading a book for school kids is fun. It may be predictable as hell, but seeing a glimpse of how they see the world from their perspective always fascinates me. However, I just find our MC, Rebekah, to be a bit more aggressive and pushy. I pity Ernie when he first met Rebekah face-to-face. Regardless, this is still a good book for your reading challenge. I would still recommend this book to kids, even if Rebekah is too strong a character for my liking.
I think the character - Rebekah, has the potential to become a kids favorite. I adored her inquisitive attitude and her love for mysteries. I strongly urge the author to develop this into a full-fledged novel. If a 21-year-old guy finds Rebekah amusing, I'm sure the kids, middle-grade children would find it very appealing.
Excellent choice young detectives. Will definitely recommend for my cousin's and little ones. Worth reading the whole series. A must read for mystery minded and adventurous kids.
I thought this was a cute little quick read. However I did think little Miss Rebekah did have a bit more of an attitude that I personally didn't care for, than she should. But it is a safe and fun book for the kiddos to read, and hopefully they'll keep their own attitudes in check though.
I love the cover and as always, I am intrigued with anything that has the word "detective" on it. :) Having a little girl myself, I like Rebekah's inquisitiveness and I know my girl would enjoy reading this soon.
This book is perfect for beginning readers who are ready to tackle chapter books. Lots of action and adventure in this story as Rebekah tried to solve the flower thief mystery. The characters are full of life and seem like they are right there with you as the story unfolds.
