Everyone wants to belong, but what happens when it’s a serial killer that loves you? Join Lara, as she falls for a killer that wants nothing more than to build a life and a family with her. Whether she likes it or not, Lara is his. How can something so wrong feel so right?
Lara
I watched him kill a man in my bedroom. A bad man. But that doesn’t stop me from smelling the blood as I let him take me. I can lie to myself and say that this is all his fault, he broke into my room before he crawled into my bed but we both know the truth . . . I didn’t try to stop him, instead I begged for more. And now that he’s had me, he's never letting go. I’m his and he’s mine, no matter how much I fight.
Michael
I minute that I saw her, I knew . . . Lara Kelsey belongs with me. I’m not strong enough to stay away, I tried but it was too hard. My world won’t be right until I claim her. Lara makes me rash and impatient. I want a family, a normal life. Someone who can accept me for who I am, darkness and all. She can fight this all she wants but we both know what she’s hiding . . . She feels the pull too. Lara craves me, she wants me, and she will love me. I just need to give her a reason to stay.

- Serial Killer - He falls first and harder - Trauma hero
Michael is killer who can't stand to be touched due to past trauma. The only person that can touch him is his brother, and the h cas touch him more than anyone else (aside for his brother)
Safety: - both experienced - om tries to sneak into h room to r*pe her, but H is ther and kills him. - he loves to fu in the ass, something he also do with the h (didn’t need to know how he liked it with other, but apparently it was easier in that hole when they weren’t allowed to touch him? - No owd
Didn’t like: - He has trouble being touched, but still he has been with a lot of women?
- That yes, she could touch him a lot more than what anyone else could, but not fully, something I had hoped he could get over fully with her
- He never said it back when she at the end told him she loves him - even tho he had said it to himself many times before.
- Didn’t need to know he likes best to fuck women in the forbidden hole, something he does with the h also…
- Based on book one and this one, you get small information about their upcoming, but still, I have a lot of questions
@binnareads :: “Claim” by Jennifer Ivy🚀 —♡— Favorite line : “Still? I whisper.” […] “Always,” he swears.” —♡— Short none spoiler in the review on Amazon. This is the Long detailed rantier* version, spoilers may be here in attendance 🚨
I REALLY enjoyed myself reading this books. It helped me get out of my reading slump because I’ve been WAITING for this release since I completed “Mine”, back in December 2023. Ivy just has a way of pulling my heart strings for the Cromwell family.
Michael is a $erial k!ller who sees Lara running alone early in the morning, oblivious to her surroundings. He falls hard and he “$talk” her per say, but in his words he protecting her by following her on her morning runs…at a safe distance…so she doesn’t notice lol. In true, Cromwell fashion when they see something/someone they want go after it with full delicious force. And Michael truly does. Reading this book just made me feel for Michael even more, yes, Daniel is my number one guy but Michael is also. Their sibling bond just makes me so happy to see how protective they are for one another but also how much they want each other to be happy. So protective. Michael said it best, he will k!lol and d!3 for his and that exactly what they are. The entire family to be exact. Kaleb, Christopher, Helen ride or d!e.
Ugh, I dislike Sam this book like girl, I see the chemistry (hopefully ima seeing/reading the room correctly) because her and Kaleb but girl get it together. I was just over her.
But back to the family, how they protect one another and even them just respecting their boy’s boundaries. Daniel not talking for year along with Michael not wanting to be touched. They just accepted and loved their boys. It’s just so beautiful. Ugh, this book made me want to hug him and the rest of his family members.
Plus this book gives us a nice set up for the Third book in the series, “Taken” where it’s Lulu’s story who was mentioned in the first book. I’m excited and will be tuned in.
Something, I wish their was more deep conversations or even detailed chats between Michael and Lara. I probably missed it maybe, but I wish they talked more about Michael trauma and his scars, the reasoning behind why he doesn’t like be touched, I understood because I read book one but I don’t think it went into detail. Or I probably just don’t remember. I wished they had a talk about a plan for her obsessiveness for her workout routine and that if she doesn’t do it through the week she pun!shes herself to not be able to eat what she likes. Touch more on her parents and even her doctor appointment she lied about.
Other than that, again I enjoyed this book. I love that they were patient with one another even if just knowing one another for a short amount of time. Oh! I loved Daniel reasoning to getting physical! I’m just excited. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Michael and his new family. I’m also really excited to read “Taken” when it’s out. Ugh, just the tease we got of the two MCs meeting has me ready!

This was okay. I def had to force myself to push through and I certainly liked Mikey more in book 1.
The mom is always tugging at my heart strings, and I was living for the Daniel + Charlie scenes 😩❤️ I mostly read this because I was curious how the author would continue.
Nitpicky Notices — •On the list of tropes I hate, ‘iM n0t GoOd eNoUgh fOr her’ is probably 3rd (unless Jessa Kane is writing him bc that big boy series is laced with crack)
•I hope I see less of Sam until her book because little sis gets on my nerves.
•Way too many chapters for the same scene.. like I thought it was funny in book 1 when the h held her pee for 4 chapters but that is clearly a trend here. O.o
•Too many rinsed and repeat occurrences from the first book.
•No in depth conversations @ all whatsoever! We don’t have enough background for the h & still don’t know what happened with the H’s parents from his prospective.
•the dad HAS to know his sons are murderers like there’s no way he is that clueless. 😑
•also did I miss it, or wtf do they do for a living? Daniel is security (I think), Kaleb drives trucks (I think), but what does this H do???
🩷’d: •Charlie + Daniel’s cameos who are now married and have a baby girl🥹 •the mom❤️
Anywhooooo…

If you start your spooky season early, this book is for you! Because serial unalivers can also fall in love and have their HEA.
If you haven’t read the first book in the series, you can read it on KU, it will give you some i sight into our main character, but you don’t have to. This book follows Michael our touch averse serial unaliver who falls in love at first sight with a college student and then debates whether or not to claim her, because 1. He can’t touch her (so spicy time will be awkward, unless she’s into bondage and doggy) and 2. He unalives people (usually only on halloween, but hey anything goes).
I loved Michael and Lara, i loved how they progressed and that that Michael wasn’t immediately cured after touching her, he had to work on it. The bond with his brother Daniel and the other brother Kaleb was also explored more and it was great. I would have liked a bit more insight (from Michael) into what happened before Cromwell’s adopted him (as it was covered on Daniel’s side in his book, so i was hoping we would get more insight into Michael).
I enjoyed the book, and now i’m just wondering if the 3rd book is about the new character that appeared during this book (that meeting was epic btw).
This time, we dive into Michael's story, the younger brother of Daniel. It's his turn to find the love of his life. Of course, it was in an unhinged, unrealistic, and downright frightening manner.
Our female main character, Lara, is a student living in the dorms next to the Cromwell household. She's spotted by Michael, and boy, does he fall hard and fast. She's smitten from the get-go, but will she survive what this family gets up to on an annual basis?
Our male main character, Michael. He is as unhinged as his older brother. But this time, we dive a little bit deeper into the past of what happened to the brothers. He claims Lara as his own, and he's not letting her go. Can he fight his own demons to be able to hold on to her?
A massive thank you to Jennifer for allowing me to ARC read this story! I loved it.
23%: why are these guys (the H and his brother) not noticing the fact that the car is damaged and has clearly been in a collision? why is the heroine crying on the backseat and instead of uhhh doing ANYTHING else, the hero starts grinding on her???? 🙈🙈🙈 literally what the fuck is happening.... and then the heroine asks to touch him!!!! why is she not telling him about the collision and saying that she's hurt?? this makes no fucking sense.. they also don't seem concerned about the guys' sister, who'd ALSO been in the collision.
26%: I don't like how they're basically laughing off the fact that their sister almost killed herself and the heroine through her reckless driving.
29%: so the sister is despicable and hateful, but then starts sobbing and they're all feeling guilty? seriously?
42%: so a stranger (the H in disguise) spanks the heroine because she's concerned for a drugged girl - and then the heroine is like "im sorry i gave you trouble". jfc. none of these people's actions make sense.
48%: the author is soooo good at writing sex scenes. it takes a lot to surprise me nowadays, but this scene is something i haven't seen a lot of.
final thoughts after finishing: definitely not as good as the first book 😭 the characters' actions were confusing. i never knew why tf any of them acted like they did. a generous edit was needed. it felt messy.

***3.5 ⭐️*** I honestly could of binged this in 1-2 days but I dragged it out 😅 I loved this dark romance. There were some parts I had to reread to understand and I felt like it was missing something. I just needed more and felt like I want getting it. However, I loved it and I’m ready for book 3
idk why i didn't vibe with this couple as much as i did with charlie n daniel but i am going to read lulu's book next. I wished there was more depth to the characters and they had discussed their past on screen rather than making it a discussion for after the book ends
This followed the same literary formula as the first book of the series but honestly they have me hooked. Claim delves into the life of the second brother Michael. More murder, more masked men, and more smut. So far this is shaping up to be a nice easy to read series.
4.5 stars I would have given this 5 stars, but didn't add the extra half because, while this book can be read as a standalone, I felt like I was missing details, as some things were being referenced that I had no clue what it was hinting at. I definitely recommend reading book 1 first which I will be doing now to see what I missed. But I could not put this book down. I started reading it this morning and canceled everything in my day to finish this. I was totally sucked into the story from the beginning.
Michael is killer who can't stand to be touched due to past trauma. The only person that can touch him is his brother and protector, Daniel. A lot of trauma from their past is hinted in this book, but not explained, so either, it was explained in book 1, or might possibly be explained in book 3, I'm not sure, but I'd like to know the whole story there. Whatever him and his brother Daniel went through, it was tragic and traumatizing. It turned them into killers. But killers need love too and Michael finds himself obsessed and falling in love with Lara. He battles a lot with himself because he worries about how he can have future with Lara when he can't stand touch. I love it when an unhinged, deranged man can go soft and protective for his girl. How can you fall in love with a killer???? THIS IS HOW!!! Michael is .... dare I say, sweet???!! But so dominant and aggressive at the same time. Him and his brothers, protect what's theirs. They love with everything they have. The love between Michael and his brothers is so heartwarming and endearing. And between Lara and Michael, there's a lot of character growth and development, which I adore. The tension build up and chemistry between them is sizzling and the spice is hot!!!!! Without giving away too much from the story, another serial killer enters their territory which brings on another layer to this story as well. I cannot wait for book 3. I have it marked on my calendar!!!
A family that unalives together, stays together. Ok, maybe that is not exactly the right phrase, but you know what I mean. This is Book 2 in the A Killer’s Love Series about adopted brothers who are serial unalivers. Michael and Lara’s story is full of st@lking, obsession, and coping with childhood abuse.
While you need to be aware of your triggers due to the v10lence and unaliving of people who deserve it, this is a sweet love story. The dialogue between the characters will make you laugh and then having you questioning why you laughed while reading about serial unalivers.
The plot keeps you entertained, and you learn more about this family function/dysfunctional of unalivers. Despite their unsavory activities, this really is a family that is close and has each other’s backs. The boys love their adopted parents and will do anything for them and the women they fall in love with.
The chemistry between Michael and Lara is smoking hot and the smexy times are just as hot.
I really enjoyed Book 1 (Daniel and Charlie’s story) and could not wait for this one to be released. I will happily say this did not disappoint. Now I just must be patient while waiting for the next one to be released.
Serial Killer Romance Where You Need Him To Get The Girl!
Can a serial killer be really really REALLY sensitive? Absolutely!
The second book in Jennifer Ivy's "A Killer's Love" series was even better than the first! In Claim, we revisit the world of 80's summer camp slasher movie vibes, but this time on a nearby college campus where our MMC has been hunting/haunting/protecting/jogging with the FMC, unbeknownst to her.
By the time they cross paths, our MMC has their lives planned out; too bad some bodies get in the way, oh, and our couple has never actually officially met. Too soon to introduce her to the folks, move her in, and call her his fiance? Not in this universe.
The connection and devotion between our main characters are immediate, intense, and completely undeniable. In fact, it might just be what the two of them really need.
This story was so layered as both the MMC and FMC struggle with body issues, trauma, and abuse. As with the previous book in this series, you can expect tension, captivity, trauma, insta-love, Stockholm syndrome, found family, and a deeply protective morally black MMC in the entire universe.
I loved the scene in the grocery store and the set up for the next books! I am hooked on this series.
Claim, written by Jennifer Ivy, is book two of the A Killer’s Love Series. Why not start your spooky season with a serial unaliver romance? I mean… they need love, too! This is my first book by Jennifer Ivy, and I am interested in reading the rest of the series. Sadly, I did not get the opportunity to read this first book, and I wish I had. I think there would have been some needed information that would have helped the story flow for me. I would definitely recommend reading book one, Mine, before this one.
In this book, we meet Michael, a serial unaliver who falls for Lara, a college student, at first sight. Michael isn’t your typical guy; besides his brother, he can’t stand being touched. So I was curious how this would work out, but it did nicely! *winks* I love the way he claims her and the battle within himself to keep her as his own. I loved his kindness toward Lara and his overprotectiveness. I love the chemistry between the brothers, as well as between Michael and Lara.
Thank you to Jennifer Ivy for gifting me an eARC of Claim. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This series is so good! I loved this book as well as the first. I tried to prolong reading this so I could stay immersed in this story. I loved Michael and Lara. They were amazing.
My heart broke for Michael and his struggles and how he had to relay on his brother to give Lara what he wanted. She started to help heal him and nether one of them know that was happening. She was so in tune to him and his needs. She gave him everything he needed and he was there to protect her.
I wished we could have gotten a little more into Michael's past like we got for Daniel. In the first it did touch base on a little of Michael's past as it intertwined with Daniel's.
Another beautifully obsessed serial unaliver. I love these broken men going absolutely feral for their women.
Michael cracks me up and when he hit Lara with the I'd do anything for my family, it made me squeal and remember why I just love dark romance so very much.
I loved that though this book is focused on Michael and Lara, you get to see Daniel and Charlie living life with their family. And honestly joke cracking Daniel is the absolute best. I missed him.
You definitely have to read the first book in the series, Mine, first as each book appears to be following a different brother, but the brothers are close and spend a lot of time together, uh relieving the world of some not so good people.
Ok my favorite quote from this book right now “No, I drowned her in the bathtub, Michael. I’m just cleaning up the crime scene.” I could not stop laughing when I heard this part! It's so perfect with this book. This book is a quick read for me. I couldn't stop reading it. It was so good! I honestly want to read book one to read Daniel story.
It's so interesting because you see how this family works and why they do what they do. It has serial killers, stalker, and I want to say Stockholm syndrome. That's really fast lol. I loved this book, I really did. Some might not, but then it's a book about this stuff. So if you don't like that stuff. I wouldn't read it, but if you do. I would read it!
Apparently, these can be read as standalone, BUT I feel like I'm missing things from book 1 that I need to really appreciate this book. Im going to go and read book 1, and then I'll come back and update my review.
As of now, though, my thoughts are that this book is just okay. I don't really care much for Michael and Lana's relationship, which is the primary focus in this book. Michael has a lot of issues, and I am most interested in his backstory, I am hopeful book 1 will give me that.
I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
Claim is the second book in A killer’s love series. Michael has been a bit lost since Daniel found his soulmate. That is until he meets his. All it took was once glance at Lara and he was hooked! He may or may not have stalked her (he even gets his brother to help) He was just making sure she was safe while running. 😉This book moves fast! It was a nice quick and a little unhinged, just perfect. The way Jennifer writes, she has me invested in not only the two main characters but the side characters also. I’m already ready for Taken, just with the glimpse we already got of Ajax.
claim started out very stalkerish and developed into more than just stalking. some parts of this book were weird and had me very confused. i felt like it would jump around and i wouldn’t know what we were talking about or what had just happened and sometimes who was even speaking in the moment. although i was sort of confused i still was interested in the book for the most part. the book wasn’t terrible, it piqued my interest (mostly towards the end). i thought it would be more spooky since it is about unalivers but it just wasn’t it. still a good quick read!
He hates to be touched Instant Love Instant Lust Breeding Serial Killers Romance
This book was just as good at the first! Just as filthy, just as exciting. Without giving it away, the knock out was SO satisfying 😂👏🏻 As with the first book, Jennifer Ivy has such a good writing style, everything flows, the POV switch is seamless and easy to follow. I read this book in a day, I couldn't put it down!
If you haven't read it yet, read Mine (the first book) immediately! Claim will be available August 28th! It will also be available on KU!
Also looks like the 3rd book is coming in October 👀👀
I haven’t read the first book in this series. This second book is supposed to be a standalone, but it felt a bit like I was dropped into the continuation of a story of the MMC and his brothers - or that the first few pages of this book were missing. To avoid that issue, I recommend reading the first story before this one.
I was interested in the premise of this story, but sadly, the plot felt sparse, shallow, and rushed, and the characters one-dimensional. By the halfway mark, I still didn't know any character well enough to care for them, but the carelessly unrealistic handling of the first smex scene made me give up hope on the story growing in depth. I DNF'd at 51%.
I received an advance copy of this book from the lovely author in exchange for my honest review.
Loving these books! The story itself is about finding a love that is so deep nothing will come between them. It's about pain from the past and healing from that pain. Are they killers? Absolutely and I was always on their side. It's also about family and a really great one. It's a unique read and I suggest reading in order. So well written and parts just made me tear up. You won't be disappointed!
- I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I started this book and immediately got drawn in so I put this one down and had to go read the first story! And honestly it was the best decision. This book had me hooked!! The instalove was *chefs kiss* and I can’t wait for book 3!!!
Sweet, sweet Michael ❤️ Jennifer absolutely kept up the same energy with the 2nd book in the series, and it was amazing. I don't feel like it was as dark as Daniel's book, but that didn't take away from the story. I loved Kalebs humor in this book, and the banter between him and Lara was 🤌🏾.
Ok… wow this book was not quite what i expected, this is a serial unaliver book with a heart of gold 💛 Michael is a beautiful man who will do anything, and I mean anything for his girl!
It was a quick read that kept me reading on and on, the story was smooth and sets up the next book nicely, can’t wait to read the next story.
What could make for a better book than a serial unaliver and an innocent college girl who has no idea what world she’s about to stumble into.
From the very beginning it’s impossible not to love both Michael and Lara. The way this story develops make you want to keep hearing more about their story and seeing where it leads.
This is the first book I've read from this author, and I loved it! Lara is pulled into the sexual trap that Michael has over her! And if she's honest, it might just he what she really wants and needs! And the way I felt reading that baseball bat scene 🔥🥵! We might all need an unhinged Michael in our lives!
