Bouquets and Belonging is book four in the Heartcraft Market series by Duckie Mack. I have loved this series from the beginning. These books are so swoony, so sweet, so wonderful. I’ve had this one on my Kindle since release day but it took me this long to finally get to it. I spent the entirety of the book completely overwhelmed with goodness. I loved these two so much.

Derek Marten is thirty eight years old. He is the chief marketing officer of a major company. He works long hours, and then once he gets home, works even more. He has little time for anything else and has no interest in dating or even hook ups. He doesn’t have the time. He barely even made it to his own sister’s wedding on time. But then, at the reception, something happened. He saw...HIM! The man with the fuchsia hair on the dance floor. He had no idea who he was, only that he couldn’t take his eyes off of him. He was smiling, laughing, uninhibited, joyful. Everything he wasn’t.

Marley Ortega is thirty one years old. He owns his own florist shop, Bearclaw Blossoms. He also runs a booth every two weeks at Heartcraft Market. Making people happy with his beautiful creations is what he lives for. Marley is a little overweight but is happy in his body. He believes in love and wants it for himself someday. He definitely noticed the very sexy man in the suit at the wedding but then lost sight of him. He thought he saw him again at Heartcraft a couple of weeks later but once again, he disappeared. Either his eyes are playing tricks on him or he has a stalker!

Derek was beside himself with nerves and confusion. He couldn’t understand why he felt this way about someone he hadn’t even spoken with. And every time he got close to approaching him and speaking to him, he couldn’t do it. He spoke to people all day every day for work. Why couldn’t he even say a single word to this beautiful man?

“I wasn’t looking. Haven’t been looking, but who I saw...was you.”

Let me tell you, even though Derek is gruff and grouchy and tongue tied, when he lets his words out, his feelings, he says the most beautiful, swoony things. This man had me melting. I could barely contain myself. Marley was perfect for him. He helped to balance him in a way no one ever had. And I cannot WAIT for you to meet little O’Malley. This little kitten was the star of the book!

I try to read my downloaded books in order and I am way behind. That’s why it took me so long to get to this. But I am still sad that this wonderful story has been sitting all this time waiting for me. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend them all. The next book, book five, will feature a talented wood carver in Wood and Wonders. Maybe I won’t let that one sit so long once it’s released.

A cute MM romance that made me tear up from its sweetness! It has Plus-sized rep, Opposites Attract, Grumpy/Sunshine vibes but the grump's a total softie for his happy lover ❤️, & an adorable kitten!
I loved Marley & Derek, devoured my #ARC in 5hrs!

“You don't dim my light; you make it burn brighter. When you look at me, I feel like a shooting star illuminating the night sky. That there is nothing in my path that I can't blaze through.”
😭❤️

Marley is a florist. He has a vibrant, friendly personality & his smiles light up the room!
Derek is a CMO, broody & workaholic, but a softie to those he cares for.
They have a 7yrs age gap romance, both in their 30s!

From attending a wedding, to "sweet" stalking, they were Opposites but curiosity then sparks flew high! I liked seeing D's nervous-ness, their vulnerability, sweetness. And, the rescue kitten!

They had a fun, very low angst, slow buildup but then things get HOT. Tad kinky with voyeur 🥵. The epilogue' cute. Loved the side characters, I'm excited for Adam's book & Want to see Paul's story 😳.

It's my favorite to date of this series! I've been in love with Marley since we first met him, and wow, does he not disappoint. Then you get his accidental stalker Derek, that one is a fun, unique character that just has you cackling in his cranky, akward glory. These two have a few misteps cause yeah, neither really knows how to communicate when attraction is there. Add O'Malley into the mix, and wow, these three are so perfect for together. Marley is just a beautiful soul who is proud to be who he is, and it just shines bright off of him. Derek is so sweet for him and loves him as he is. It's just a fun read from start to finish.

1st person, past tense, dual POV
Marley Ortega (31), Florist (owner Bearclaw Blossoms / vendor at Heartcraft Market)
Derek Marten (38), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of a marketing firm

Although part of the Heartcraft Market series, this works well as a standalone. Other characters from the series make little guest appearances but you aren't missing anything in not having read the earlier books of the series and the stories of them aren't ruined so you can go back and catch them if they tickle your fancy.

After Derek is enchanted by the vivacious Marley at his sister's wedding, he goes to great lengths to ensure their paths cross again, becoming a bit of a quasi stalker as he tries to gather up the courage to ask him out. Marley for his part, sees past Derek's staid demeanour to the tender and caring heart he hides from the world. Together they are a match made in heaven, fitting seamlessly together. For someone who didn't really date and was content by himself Derek sure could talk the swoony talk. Everything that came out of his mouth was heart-meltingly sweet. It's no wonder being with him gave Marley twirlies.

As if that weren't perfect enough after their first date they rescue a small orange kitten Derek names O'Malley that he agrees to house temporarily (we all know 'temporary' goes out the window if you name it!). As they get to know each other things between them definitely heat up in the bedroom. I loved that Marley was so self-accepting of his weight and that Derek barely batted an eye at his size. As someone who is also overweight it was nice to see the positive representation and not have it be a huge point of contention or plot device.

This was such a sweet low-angst treat. Perfect for reading on my deck in the sunshine.

I was given an ARC and voluntarily wrote an honest review.

"You don't dim my light; you make it burn brighter."

Oh what an absolute delight of a book this is !!! I just love Marley - he's the sunshiney-est character that I've every come across ! His positive outlook to life is so uplifting .....I kinda wish that I was a lost one !! hehehehe And Derek - really is a grumpy workaholic and is truly clueless on how to ask someone on a date (and really not the way he went about it !!! bahahaha). I found this story to be just beautiful - it really did make my heart sing !! And I loved that even though we know there's a plus size character, that wasn't the focus. It was solely about how they felt when they saw each other and when they spent time together - they just clicked. I will add that this was a bit of a slow burn ....but when they do finally connect, oh boy, do they connect !!!! This is quite simply a beautiful and romantic story with no angst or break ups or miscommunications ...... just sunshine and love.....and here come the zoomies - go O'Malley !!!!

This was such an adorable heart-warming story through and through. Plenty of steamy romance, a precious ball of fluff, and plants everywhere. I smiled so much reading this wonderful, colorful, low angst, grumpy/sunshine romance. Marley deserved his own romance after helping so many people find theirs as the florist for weddings especially, and he got a pretty amazing one. They are so good for each other. Derek being attracted first and foremost to Marley’s amazing personality and joy for life and confidence was just wonderful to see. Body positivity and plus-size representation done so very right.

I loved Marley in the brief glimpses I got in book 3, Colin and Harper’s story, which was my first read of this series. Every book can be read as a standalone with references and appearances from characters who are not only from this series but other series of this author’s as well. I have yet to go back to read the first two but I absolutely will be to learn about the rest of them and I can't wait for our next visit to the market!

Bouquets & Belonging is the 4th book in the Heartcraft Market series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the rest of the series. This is Marley and Dereks story. I am so happy to finally get Marley's story as I have loved him since he was first mentioned. I so enjoyed watching these two figure things out because I just knew they were ment for each other. I love the way Duckie writes the characters because they are so real and don't feel made up. I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. I love the spice in the story also. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

“You shine so bright, Marley, I don't want to dim your light.”

This was the cutest book.
If you want a serious grumpy/sunshine then this is the way to go.

Marley could not have been more of a sunshine beam of a man, he came into Derek’s darkness and lit him up.
Derek is the grumpiest of them all, only really caring for his job and making sure his team is getting things done. He never expects to encounter a magenta haired man who he just can’t take his eyes off of.

Can these two become something? Even if Derek is stalking to the man 😉

A good, fun, lighthearted read.
The build up to these two is exactly my type of slow burn. Then when they finally come together it is so good and sweet.
Marley & Derek are what each other needs but they never truly realized it until they finally meet each other properly.

The cute moments in this book were so sweet the cavity is forming!
The duck pond..
The flowers..
The pet name..
Last but not least.. O’Malley.
Rescuing a sweet baby makes Derek open up that much more even if it is only to the two who he cares about most.

Great addition to this series for sure!
Now to see about that wood carver..it’s the quiet ones that pack a punch.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

This is the fourth book in Duckie Mack’s Heartcraft Market series, but can be read as a standalone. This book is so gosh darn sweet! I love Marley and Derek together. I appreciate the inclusion of a plus sized MC. It’s very evident how much consideration and love that Duckie Mack took when writing this story.

That said, be sure to check out the author’s content warning at the beginning of the book. This story does feature elements of past struggles with self-image, weight, and fat fetishization from prior partners. Most of the story, however, focuses on loving and accepting Marley just as he is. And he is fabulous! I love how comfortable he is in his skin as well as the body positivity in this book.

Marley is an independent florist. He loves dancing almost as much as he does flowers. Derek is a Chief Marketing Officer. Derek works too much, so it’s amazing when he sets his sights on Marley and something inside of him just won’t let go. Derek arranges for Marley to deliver flowers at his office and after a couple of awkward encounters (mostly on Derek’s part), the two plant the seeds for the beginnings of a beautiful and blossoming relationship. There’s such genuineness between these two MCs. Both men are unequivocally themselves. Derek demands top tier quality at the office and may come off as gruff, but he is the absolute sweetest around Marley.

Derek is drawn to confidence and Marley has it in spades. Marley is a breath of fresh air and a ray of sunshine all rolled into one for Derek. He brings a lightness, warmth, and enthusiasm to Derek’s gray life. I love the two of them together. They are a perfect grumpy/sunshine pairing. Derek accepts Marley exactly as he is and Marley gives Derek some much needed trust and care. He doesn’t let Derek push him away or think he isn’t good enough for Marley.

This story exudes acceptance and respect. It will really bring a smile to your face. I love how Marley’s flowers and personality brightens everyone’s day. Marley and Derek find a home in one another and their love story is absolutely adorable and heartwarming. They definitely deserve their HEA and it’s a cute one!

Side note: I laughed out loud at Carmen’s reaction to Derek having a boyfriend. (Also, I loved the tease for Mack’s upcoming “Gaming at Randy’s” in this book). And of course, I’m looking forward to Theo’s book, up next in the Heartcraft Market series.

- Low Angst
- Body positivity
- Slow Burn

If there was a way to distill sunshine into book form, then this is it. I think I smiled from start to finish with this story, from the first page it was utterly joyful. Marley is sunshine personified, he shines out of every page he's in and it was so much fun to see him get his HEA. Derek is perfect for him, and let me tell you for someone who was lost for words at the start, he sure finds them and every one is used well, that man sure has a way with words, each one is gold.

I was originally going to put Grumpy/Sunshine but this isn't really that at all, Derek is just a very hardworking man who's let his work take over his life to the extent that he's completely focused on it to the exclusion of everything else. It's so much fun to see him unbend and never once does he not put Marley first, it's so refreshing and wonderful to see. It's a slow burn for sure, but once that match is lit, hooo boy is there some steam.

From the second Derek sees Marley, right to the end this is just so light and fun, and like Marley, I got the twirlies too at points.

"I was fine. Until I saw this person with dark pink hair dancing with abandon, looking like the most radiant person I’ve ever seen, and needing to find a way to soak up his light.”

Sigh. Derek. I loved this so much, I have read the others in the series but you can totally enjoy this as a standalone if you want.

“You don't dim my light; you make it burn brighter. When you look at me, I feel like a shooting star illuminating the night sky. That there is nothing in my path that I can't blaze through.”

So perfect.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

**4.5**
This is a perfect balm for the soul, low angst and body positivity throughout while reading two men who seem an unlikely pair at first glance, are a perfect match for each other.
Derek, the grumpy workaholic, is spellbound when he sees Marley at his sister's wedding, dancing like no one is watching, full of confidence and enjoyment. Marley, the sunshine who loves his work as a florist, has come to love who he is and his body.
It may be ever so slightly stalkery but Marley ends up with a delivery at Derek's business, which ends up with a hilariously awkward first meeting. He would have never guessed that was arranged specifically because Derek wanted to see him. The two men share a lot of sweet and adorable moments, with Derek being surprisingly charming considering his demeanor at the start. Marley is in full swoon mode! I love the body positivity and heated moments they share together, you can feel the connection and chemistry that they have.
Such a perfect addition to the Heartcraft series, and possibly my new favourite couple. A must read!
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I love visiting the Heartcraft Market. There is always something fun to be found, and an adorable man to uncover. In this case, we get Marley - the sunshine in human form florist - and Derek - the overworked, underloved, and lonely marketing executive. Marley handles the flowers for Derek's sister's wedding, and Derek immediately falls under the spell of the loveable man with bright pink hair.

🥇 When I tell you I have never met a smooooooother man than Derek Marten….oh buddy. Every word out of that man's mouth was *gold*. He loves with his whole heart, but it takes a special person to open that gate.

🙀 O'Malley is the best cat ever, and you can tell that Duckie is a cat person. Or at least, has owned a cat. The amount of interruptions and snuggles these two got from this little kitten was perfect, and as someone who has had “adult time” interrupted by an insistent cat….I get it

❤️ Gah, these two were so freaking adorable. Thankyou so much Duckie for giving me the chance to read and review their story early, it was beautiful and I can't wait for it to be out in the world <3

Marley is special. He’s a finder of lost things, people, animals, plants. He’s a lover of dancing, being authentic, and has a heart bigger than most. He has the ability to make friends with anyone. His light shines so bright that he attracts the attention of Derek, brother of the bride, workaholic, non-dater, serious to the extreme introvert. Somehow these two work. Like really work. Marley brings out Derek’s softer side, he makes him see his own value. In return, Derek makes Marley feel loved for who he is not what he is. Duckie’s tagline is sweet with heat. This book brings the sweetness factor up and up and away.

Also, this is my second review as Amazon is holding it and I forgot to copy it before submitting it. It may be more wordy, it may be a bit different. Bottom line, I adored this book. Heck, I adore this entire series. I’m waiting for the wood carver. I have a feeling about his book. Marley may always be tops for me though. There is just something about his character, his joy, his light.

From the very first page, this story brought a smile to my face. It’s a refreshing escape from drama and complications, a happy story that warms the heart. The unlikely pairing of Derek, a grumpy businessman, and Marley, an adorable flower shop owner, is the essence of charm.

Derek's transformation from a hardened professional to a sweet and romantic partner around Marley is touching. His genuine affection for him is evident in every interaction, making their relationship a joy to witness. Marley, with his adorable and lively personality, perfectly balances Derek's more serious nature, creating a captivating dynamic that keeps you hooked.

This book is a perfect read for those who appreciate light-hearted romance. It's a beautiful reminder that love can blossom between the most different people. It is a truly delightful story that leaves you with a warm feeling long after you've finished reading.

Love it

It was a story based off Marley and Derek. Marley is a florist and owns a flower shop and Derek is in advertising. Marley was Derek’s sisters florist for her wedding which is where they met “technically”. They just saw each other but Derek being a workaholic was so invested in his work even while at his sisters wedding he saw Marley and wanted to talk with him but his work got in the way and his shyness around him. Derek sort of became a “stalker” toward Marley since he wasn’t brave enough to talk to Marley until he got the courage to finally talk which than started their relationship and along the way they built their family with their pets and Derek learned not to be so much of a workaholic and now took time to come home he was motivated to go home and not work so much because of Marley and their pets. Marley grew more confident especially toward his body since he was a bigger guy but Derek didn’t mind it and loved Marley for him. I loved watching them build and strengthen their relationship with each other through out the book.

Bouquets & Belonging is the 4th book in Duckie Mack’s “Heartcraft Market” series—and though I didn’t think it possible, this series just keeps getting better! We met Marley in previous Heartcraft Market books and it was so satisfying to see this vibrant, caring florist get his HEA. When Marley attends a wedding he provided the flowers for, his obvious joy in life is noticed by Derek. But Marley leaves before Derek can meet him, so Derek devises an unusual way for their paths to cross…and then when O’Malley enters the story, the swoon-level goes sky high. B&B is a grumpy/sunshine romance featuring a plus-size character—and I love the way Mack presents him and the other characters’ interactions with him. This is a stand alone novel, but if you have the chance to binge these in order, go for it. Highly recommend!

Received as an ARC.
Duckie has done it again. Weaving a heartfelt story and staying true to the amazing world she has created known as the Heartcraft Market. The way her other series just blends right in makes the characters so memorable and exciting to see again.

The spark between Marley and Derek is pure fluff and gooey goodness. While Marley gets the twirlies from Derek and the love he has for his Sunshine. Derek finds out that he is the world’s best cat dad and that anytime spent with Marley is the best time.

Marley and Derek balance each other out so wonderfully and here’s hoping to a life time of love and a home full of cat zoomies!

OMG... I absolutely loved this sweet romance. This is definitely a sunshine/grump or completely opposites attract romance...loved every bit of it. Marley was such a free spirit...people adored him. Which attracted Derek...lonely...handsome...somewhat cold/all business type guy...BUT he couldn't help being drawn to Marley kind spirit. I love their cute meet up and their journey to their HEA. Hardly no angst...sweet heated and feel good moments with an adorable kitten added in...makes this a romance I highly recommend. If you read and loved the previous books in this series, you definitely love this wonderful romance.

This book is a ray of sunshine.

Marley and Derek are the sweetest couple. Marley brings light and warmth to everyone he meets and Derek has a cold exterior but is a big softie when it comes to the people he cares about.

I loved that Marley is a plus-sized character. Being plus-sized myself, it was refreshing to see. Body positivity is one thing I struggle with and it was nice reading about it and the way Marley viewed himself.

I loved everything about this book, its characters and the storyline. You can't help but smile while you read it.

Derek, the bride's brother spies the florist, Marley at the wedding and is smitten with the joyous, vivacious man. Attempting to meet him, he orders flowers, sees him at the Heartcraft Farmer's Market and finally successfully meets him arranging a weekly flower delivery contract. Marley has overcome body issues and is all sunshine, rainbows and sparkles wrapped up in a big Teddy bear. Derek is a grumpy, lonely, uptight businessman who badly needs a hug. They are perfect together! And hot!! It's a heart-stopping, breathtaking, joyful, honest to G romance that captivated you. Old friends from the Heartcraft Market series return adding the perfect touch. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

I love Marley! He can make the biggest grump smile and he does - Derek is the perfect person to unleash his magic on... I love that Derek is both grumpy and clueless and that Marley makes things easier on him. I also love that there's plus sized rep in this book, but it's not done in a hit you over the head way... it's just a sweet, slow burn story that brings the steam without the drama.

This book is a great addition to the Heartcraft Market Series and while they do build on each other, can certainly be read standalone!

Very positive - I've never seen a photo cover model so incredibly matching the character - the enthusiastic and happy just pours out of that picture, it's not just the looks. The story itself was lovely in every way, really low angst and with a lot of appealing characters. The way Derek became more human under his influence was really touching.

sweet and delightful!

I love the Heartcraft series so much! It's full of low-angst, cute, sexy MCs and meet cutes and love. Marly is the sunshiniest MC to Derek's grump and they were mfeo! I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to wait for the next book!

5+ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love the idea of someone catching your eye because of their smile and overall personality. Finding attraction in attitude and flair/panache, rather than general attire or other physical attributes.

Marley is hilariously dramatic. "...after eighty-four years..." in reference to how fast Derek undresses him. 🤣

I fell in love with Marley when we first meet him in Dash & Evan's story, and that's a super quick meeting. He comes to life in Collin & Harper's story, and I knew before I jumped into this book that I'd love following his romance. He has such a fun, pure spirit. He spends basically none of the book unhappy or angry. Quite the sunshiny opposite to Derek, but they compliment one another so well.

With some sweet, feline help, Marley & Derek find their similarities & the harmony to their relationship. Their feelings grow in a very natural, organic way, and the pair seem to simply click into one another's lives with very little issue. Some personal/emotional insecurities at times for each of them, but ultimately the men simply slot their lives into place with one another like it was always meant to be.

Bouquets & Belonging is definitely the sweetest story of the Heartcraft Market series so far. I would love to make friends with any of the MCs we've met throughout the series, but Marley would be the best one to know by far. It's simply impossible to read a scene he's in without smiling. I already feel like I need to re-read the series, but especially Marley & Derek's love story.

Everything I read from Duckie Mack is amazing and has some of the sweetest love stories. You absolutely cannot go wrong with any of her creations.

I received an advance copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
