Leif Becken, bartender and novice spiritmancer, has just moved in with his two boyfriends and he couldn't be happier. Sure, he's kept pretty busy with two part-time jobs and finishing up his psychology degree, but he doesn't let that stop him from finding time for couch cuddles, midnight massages, or the occasional day of playing fetch at the park.
That all changes when Tucker, his shifter lover and a top detective at the Department of Mythic Affairs, runs afoul of a dangerous artifact and is assigned to help unravel the connection between it and other mythical incidents in the area.
Compounding the issue, his second love, Private Investigator Rahul, is losing sleep after a missing person's case that he solves ends up being more than it initially appeared.
As a dutiful boyfriend who loves them both to pieces, Leif will do everything he can to help them out, and absolutely not get distracted by former friends, wrestling shenanigans, or an old crush finally confessing his true feelings.
Super easy, right? Right.
Cursed Spirits is a low-angst, polyamorous paranormal romance about the dangers of breathing in evil smoke, having healthy communication with your significant others, what to do when your former wrestling coach pins you to the mat, being polite to your boyfriend's boss, and how a good cocktail, properly enchanted, can hopefully help save a life.
I had to give this one up because the writing was beginning to grate, and why is all the characterization measured? We learn how tall each of the guys is, how many pounds, how many inches their dick is, cut or uncut, and then the line that squicked me out - When I hear that I immediately think what size cup of coffee it's equivalent to and, no. I'm out.
The main characters deepen their connections so thoughtfully and the “save his boyfriend” twist is amazing! I’m so elated to have forum this author and series. Absolutely loving it!
Much like the first book, this was a lot of fun. The characters were entertaining, and the plot had enough going for it to keep me reading. Tucker especially, continues to be a highlight.
