3 Estrellitas.
I actually had forgotten how good Nora Roberts is. This book was a god reminder as to how good Roberts writes and how her words are able to make the reader actually imagine the same situation in their minds. As a story it wasn't that compelling but I really liked the writing. It was a little bit different from the normal Nora Roberts structure so I liked it. It had more romance rather than the suspense feeling but I liked the fact that Roberts didn't bring any Irish stuff into this. As much as I love Irish stuff I wished that she stayed away bit from that cuz repetition of the same becomes a bit annoying. Especially when you are a world renowned author and millions read your books. So I liked this book very much. I guess because this is an old book of hers this is different. I can say another good book by Nora Roberts.
"The Playboy Prince" is the story of Hannah and Bennett.
Prince Bennett, younger brother to Prince Alexander and second in line to throne has always lived a charming and carefree life, being nicknamed "The Playboy Prince". Picking up two years after the last book, things change when Lady Hannah is hired as a companion to Princess Eve and her kids, and Alexander experiences a spark of attraction to the dowdy and plain looking women. But under the mousy exterior, hides a sharp women, who has come to Cordina with ulterior motives which may or may not have everything to do with Deboque's release. Can this love whose foundation was laid with deception, come to fruition. As usual, Nora takes us on this intriguing ride with wonderful plot and story telling. There is passion, angst, love, honor and responsibility- and then there's family and true affection between the leads, as well as the secondary characters. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
This might be the first one star rating I've ever given a Nora Roberts novel, because normally I adore her. At first, I really enjoyed it. The characters, world, and plot were all fleshed out and interesting.
As I got to know the characters more, however, things got a little creepy. Namely, Bennet comes off as a major creeper. Yes, I suppose Hannah is putting on an act, and that her prim-and-proper thing is merely a facade. I got as far as the scene where he cornered her in the ballroom before I got too sick to continue. At one point, she says "actually, you're making me uncomfortable" and he responds with "good. I want to make you uncomfortable." Boundaries? Hello? The second time they meet, he walks right through their personal bubble and kisses her "because he wants to figure something out." Nooooope. I had red flags going off all over the place. I understand that she responded internally with "hubba hubba, I want to bang this fella" but she didn't say it outwardly, and despite his playboy reputation, Bennet should have picked up on the "nope, she's not interested" and at least slowed down his approach. Or not been a total creeper dick.
Couldn't finish it. I got it as part of a twofer though, so I am going to read Camilla's story. Thusfar, it's going better.
In short, this book was trash. Neither its current name nor its old name is fitting for this book, because it really is not about the price of Cordina. This is a spy romance with some ill-fitting situations, and I do not think the back of the book reflected the true story behind this book.
For one, She literally asks the prince if he would rape her, and he said something along the lines of "no, but I will have you" after she repeatedly said no. In fact, there were multiple situations where she said no and he decided to have his way anyway. the end of this book was another perfect example of this, she had just received a promotion at work and the prince literally told her that she wanted to marry him, that she did not truly want that promotion. I just ???
There was another instance where she stated something about the princes anger, then said it was "awesome" to see it in action. I am being serious, she used that specific word to describe it. Overall I just really did not like the prince as a person and I felt quite uncomfortable with this book. I did not know it was the third in a series, mainly because it says nothing about that on the outside of the book. It was not until I opened it and there was a note on the inside saying this was the final installment. I have no desire to read the other two.
I understand Nora Roberts is a popular writer, but I think this is the first book of hers I have read. Maybe because this was written in a different time period, or maybe for some other unknown reason, but this book felt very misogynistic and none of the characters were likeable. I expected this to be like a hallmark movie, with frilly romances and not a deep storyline, and I was disappointed.
I did like the spy part on its own, and did enjoy that part of the story. The romance I could have done without, especially as it continued to get worse instead of better. I would not recommend this read, but seeing the age on this book I realize there is probably not many people reaching for this anyway. If you can get passed the awful character writing, it is not a bad read. Also, it felt like the "winter" theme in the title was put in like an afterthought, because I continually forgot what part of the year this took place in until the boo was like "oh yeah, it is Christmas eve now."
Bennett, a prince of Cordina, is known as a playboy. But his heart stumbled when he see Hannah. Hannah, quiet and decent, is hooked by Bennett's charm. But Hannah stayed at Cordina's palace for protecting them, because she's an undercover agent. What will happen next.
I kind of like it. I find this book's very simple and pleasant. Because Nora Roberts's style of writing is very nice to read.
To me, Hannah's too safe. I mean, she's too protective upon herself. I wish she got hurt a bit, you know, to make Bennett feel guilty. After the love making that they already did, and when he force her, I want him to feel guilty enough to apologize more. You know what I mean.
So far, I love Nora Roberts style. Looking forward to read her other books.
3.5 ⭐️ - it was a quick and fun read, however the back and forth between Bennett and Hannah was killing me. Like, were they together and in love or did they hate each other?? It was unclear since they themselves didn’t know what they felt for each other at times.
Also the cover is giving cute Christmas vibes, but the entire book is about a royal family trying to take down a villain during the Christmas ball…?
Idk anymore 🥲 I did enjoy the characters and the interactions in the book so I was thoroughly entertained anyway lol 🤭
One of my favorites to reread when I hit a book slump. No cliffhangers, predictable (even you haven't read it yet). It is innocent and smutty free. A non thinker and a perfect feel good book.
This is the third installment in the Cordina's Royal Family series. So it's time to marry off the last of the three siblings, the flirtatious and rebellious younger prince, Bennett. As a royal who is used to having pretty, confident women throw themselves at him, Ben is intrigued by his sister in law's companion, Hannah. Hannah dresses in boring colors and frumpy clothes, but once in awhile he sees a spark there.
Yes, there's more to the story there, as Hannah keeps secrets of her own to protect the royal family. A vengeful criminal has just left prison after ten years, and after multiple failed attempts on family members, is eager to finish them off once and for all. Or, can they flip the tables on him and guarantee their continued safety?
Título original em inglês: The Playboy Prince Autora: Nora Roberts Páginas: 287 Editora: Editora Harlequin
When I first read this book, Bennett was my favorite. After rereading the story I find myself disliking Bennett and Hannah. He is impetuous and impossible. For a spy she is weak willed and easily taken advantage of. The whole story left a bad taste in my mouth.

The Playboy Prince is the third book in the Cordina’s Royal Family series by Nora Roberts. This is a fun series, it has some action and romance. I think it’s a good buildup to some of her later novels and series. In this book, we get Bennett’s story and the conclusion of the Deboque drama. Prince Bennett has been itching for a greater purpose and a need to be settled. In comes Lady Hannah Rothschild, companion to his sister-in-law and a bluestocking if I ever read one. It’s easy to overlook Hannah, that’s until Bennett starts to notice her. But Hannah has some dark secrets and she might not be all in on the right side. I really enjoyed this book, with the added suspense and forgiveness after betrayal. I would definitely recommend this book and series for someone who enjoys lighthearted romance, but maybe wants something a little different.
The Playboy Price is the third book in Nora's Cordina Royal Family series. Prince Bennett, the youngest and most carefree of the royal siblings, has a reputation with beautiful women from around the globe, so he initially takes little notice of the bland Lady Hannah when she arrives at the palace. However, Bennett becomes more intrigued with each meeting, seeing that there's more under the surface. What he doesn’t know is that Hannah is an ISS agent on a secret mission to protect his family. This book has great suspense and the best heroine in the entire Cordina series. After reading the first two, I should have expected action and intrigue but I wasn't expecting this much.
When Hannah is first introduced, I can see that she won't be mean by the end, but I wasn't certain what exactly was going on.
Bennett was everything I was hoping for in the first two books. He was a playboy but he had a heart of gold.
I'm glad Reeve could have a bigger part in this book. He was my favorite after all.
Again I say, I had no idea Nora Robert's books were like this, but if they are, I really must read more of them.
The scenes where Hannah was risking her life were so exciting! I couldn't wait to see how the bad guy got taken down in the end. It was better than I imagined!
This is the first Nora Roberts book I have read, and that only by chance since it was one of only a few available at a weekend getaway cabin rental. Her spin on modern royalty was interesting, and I found myself getting pulled in to the Hannah/Deboque plot as the book went on. With that being said, there were huge holes in the plot, and the way Nora hops from one character's point of view to another's in the middle of dialogue was sometimes confusing. Without giving away the ending, I will say that the epilogue was a little unbelievable given the character's interactions up to that point. Props to romance fans, and there are some I enjoy, but this wasn't one of them.
So in this part I'm struggling between giving it 2-3 stars. 3, maybe even 3.5 because it seems to have the best protagonist out of those 3 parts. I do remember those were written in early 90s, so some more emancipation had a chance to develop since then... Still, those books are written by a female writer, mostly for other women. You would think that would mean a bit more realistic emotions. And now, 2 stars (or even 1?) for a sex scene that is on a very dangerous edge of being rapey. It wasn't sexy and rough. It was on the edge of being disgusting.
This series of books was great. I read all four and was not disappointed. While Nora does an incredible job at telling backstories in each book so that it is not necessary for readers to read all of the books in the series, I highly recommend reading all of the books. They tell a wonderful story and immerse you into a beautiful fantasy world that the princess in us dreamed of as a child. Not to mention the explicit romance that follows, highly recommended!!!
SPOILERS: This is the best of the series so far, in my opinion, and I like that NR incorporated the O'Hurleys into the story. I would've given it 5 stars, but the first love scene between the main characters was pretty disturbing, and the happy ending was kind of bizarre, with Hannah giving up her career without a fight and it just being expected of her.
Nora Roberts found someone to win Bennett Bisset heart and end his playboy status . What he doesn't know is that she's helping his father and others to take down the terrorist trying to kill all of the royal family . Read this book to find out more and how the Playboy Prince finds love .
Probably the best of the series, all thanks to the characters.
This story is light with a touch of intrigue and all the Genovia feels. With Nora, it's really when she writes very particular characters that I enjoy them. I would love to read another one like this but written recently because as I've always said this really shows how much her writing style has changed.
It was so good could not put it down. I really thought Hannah was planted there by Debquo. When I found out who had done this I was so amazed. She was trying to be so plain but of course who else than Bennett broke thru the layers and found the true Hannah. She could not refuse his charm and love.
