In this third and final romp of a book in the series, Petronella and friends are once again in the service of their country and king, as they sail to Central America and British Honduras (now Belize) to investigate the problem of pirates disrupting trade in the Caribbean. Their assignment is complicated enough, what with Uncle Augustus’s continued predilection for eating insects and Petronella’s increasing popularity after saving Mother England and the life of the king. Things get even more complicated when the attentions of the gloriously magnificent Lord James Sinclair begin to grow more pointed and more flustering and characters from Petronella’s past adventures show up to insert themselves into her affairs.

Petronella feels as up to the challenge as ever, but when an unexpected enemy attacks her and her friends, she must accept some help herself before she is able to save the day yet again.

Delightful!

I’ve been waiting for the conclusion of the Petronella trilogy for some time now and it did not disappoint. Such a fun read!
