Two women on a deserted island. What’s going to happen?
Helen Hales, the 38-year-old Chief Creative Officer of one of the most prestigious fashion houses, Verve Couture, is tasked with going to a remote jungle in Guatemala to do a high-profile fashion shoot for two days. It’s not something she is keen on doing since she has to leave her husband and two small children behind. Somehow, she knows she’ll miss her girls more than ever. Before leaving, she just doesn’t want to let them go. And maybe she shouldn’t have.
Lana Spisak, a 23-year-old up and coming photographer was hired by Helen Hales to do one of their most important fashion shoots of the year. She’s excited and can’t believe it. All her dreams might come true, or they might be dashed away before she gets the chance to realize them.
What happens in the jungle is unexpected and sinister, and leads Helen and Lana down a path that will change their lives forever.
Enjoy the nail-biting twists and turns, ups and downs that Helen and Lana go through as they navigate their way in an unexpected journey of survival, self-discovery, and possibly love.
Stranded is a thrilling, adventurous, age-gap lesbian romance that will pull you in and leave you wanting more.
I may add a rating later but for now I’m just going to say this was not for me, and I’m just going to mark this review as having spoilers so I can openly get my thoughts out.
I am always intrigued to find more romances with a stranded or survival element, so I was excited to give this a try. Unfortunately I thought that it had a lot of issues and inconsistencies.
- Helen’s ankle hurts so bad she can’t even take off her boot, but then suddenly is fine and she’s running around. - They are 38 and 23 currently but say when Lana was 15, Helen was 27. How did their age gap go from 15 years to 12? - There was a ridiculous amount of talk about bodily functions. I don’t need to know that Helen feels like she might shit when she has an orgasm. I reread that line a couple times thinking I must be reading it incorrectly, because how bizarre. - Helen is described as curvy, and her husband is kind of a dick about her weight (and she’s happy to be losing weight while stranded) yet Lana says Helen has a flat stomach when she sees her partially stripped a couple days after they get stranded. Which is possible but… unlikely. - How were the others rescued? It mentions a couple people that were but nothing is ever said about it. - Who called at 4am after they were rescued? Lana seems surprised but Helen doesn’t, and suddenly there’s a time jump. - Helen says she can’t come see Lana then literally the next page she’s at her place. - Editing: u instead of you + a repeated sentence very close together - Both Helen and Lana constantly say hurtful things together, then say ‘I didn’t mean it’ and all is good again. It was exhausting, and never changed.
The ending was very rushed, and I feel like there was a lot of unanswered questions. Clearly this just wasn’t for me. If you decide to pick this up, I hope it works better for you.

This book has some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read, and I’ve read a few. The beauty of it is that they were not gratuitous, or ill placed. It all worked because the characters were well developed and believable. I didn’t think stranded on a desert island could be hot and sex for all of the practical reasons you can think of. The talent of the writing is that it extends beyond that to closeness, fear, companionship in a way that rounds the storyline out. The road isn’t easy for the MCs and that makes for an exciting read. I didn’t give five stars for the copious grammar and editing errors. Also, the author had me invested hook, line, and sinker but then rushed the ending. The grand gesture is made less grand by the choppy scene that preceded it. It spoiled what could have been an extremely romantic ending.
It will be a five stars if the end wasn't so rushed cause girl, the development of the two MCs and the love story are amazing.
The sex scenes are hot, really hot, and having two points of view makes everything better (obviously) but it's not gross, it's not sex for the sake of it.
The writing makes you be so involved in the companionship, the fear, the tension, the anxiety, the guilt, etc., that you end reading one more chapter, one more, one more, until you finish it. I couldn't stop.
I hate Jeff and I hate Mia. Sorry not sorry. We can't be read buddies if you don't think that those two deserve to end in a desert island. But I love Sam, and Kevin, and the girls. God the girls. Little angels.
I think the rhythm was asking for a better end. I mean, is a happy one, but it happens too quickly. A couple more chapters, that's all it needed, Helen and Lana deserve it.
I love them. I love the trust and how they understand each other or at least they try really really hard. They are clumsy in their ways sometimes but you see the meaning of what they are doing and saying. It warms your heart. I think Helen is my favorite but I feel attach to Lana too. They are an awesome combo.

3 stars. The writing isn't very good and the characters are incredibly unlikable however I blew through this book in a few hours because it was addictive as hell. It's so melodramatic and I wanted to strangle Lana and Helen but their love story was fascinating to say the least. I didn't buy their chemistry while they were on the island. They said I love you way too quickly and I didn't understand why. I did like when they were stranded though. There were some tense moments and I love a good survival story. When they were rescued things seemed to stall a bit until the dramatic end. Overall, this story was okay. Needs to be edited but the plot held my interest and I liked how it ended.
This is the 3rd book that I've read by this author, & everyone of them scored a 5 star review. The only negative on this book, is that the ending seemed rather abrupt. Hopefully, there will be a continuation of this story.
For sure and interesting ordeal, what we will do survive and understand what happened and how they fell in love but the cheating is not something I liked, why can't you just put end to what is not working and move on. It was a hard read for that reason.
I wish the story was longer, there were things left hanging. Perhaps there will be a follow up book? The story was good, who doesn't love two women stranded alone on an island with nothing to do but make love all day?
