How devilishly clever written to got me hooked and lost most of my sleep hours.
Love at first sight they say, Trixie was beyond confused when John offered her a job, which she really needed to pay through her college. Although how different John's appearance is, still she didn't run away but do the opposite, trying to get John out more.

John, born with rare condition with pale as paper white sensitive skin found something in Trixie and was quickly pulled by it. He was the owner of famous and well established company worth billion. All he needed is a personal secretary to arrange his schedule and tasks.

What Trixie didn't expect is affection shown by John.

Mac Flynn writing really suited me, although all of her novel is mostly short and ended in very heart-hooking state (cliffhangers!).

Interesting but incomplete

A bit of a 'bouncy' type of book with no smooth sailing, so to speak. I found the story interesting but the execution of the storyline could be better with a little more work on the charactors thought process and emotions. Some parts are a bit too in the air and don't make sense to a degree. 3 stars but could be made into a 5 star book with a little bit of work and selling it as a complete book.
Part Works are a Pet peeve with me and always ruin a storyline in my point of view.
Can't really recommend this book as it feels overall incomplete ...., even as a part work.

Had an adult warning and very little content for it like other books that don't have warnings

Well the story is okay and I liked it well enough but I am left unsatisfied. There was a warning about adult content and it had very little of it. The Daria sparks books didn't have the same warning and was full of adult action. If the rest of the series doesn't have more coitus in it it isn't what I am looking for. I was looking for adult romance and less of a story. Still if you'd rather have more of a story this might be for you.

I am not much for romance, but I read this because I have enjoyed another by the author. I thought it was a vampire book, but turns out it wasn't. The build up was very well done. A nice, quirky story. Loved the interaction between the upright, but weird, Mr. Benson and white trash Trixie. Lots of comic moments.

I loved this book, trixie is a bit blunt and a bit of a trouble maker for example in the library scene plus she is a bit vulgar mouthed but she seems to suit john fine. I cant wait to read the next in the series.

Wow this was a great start. I hate cliffhangers so 4 stars. I love a snarky heroine and Angel/Trixie is one of the best. There is so much still to suss out in this story but so far I had a great time getting to know the protagonists. Here's hoping it will stay this good in the next book.

Another chart topper for this author

I have been following this author for years. I love how they bring you into the story right from the beginning and keep you on your toes until the very end. Must read.

Not a fan of episode style books

But unlike some of Mac's other stories this one I found cute and endearing and one I will continue as long as it is has episodes.

I almost DNF’d a few times. This book is short but I found it to be a bit boring. The banter was good but that wasn’t enough for me to want to continue on to the next book.

Omg....it got good and than I got left hanging wish I would have waited til another book to this series came out....it's kind of a strange book though it makes John seem like a vampire but it turns out he's just allergic to the sun I guess....it never really gets explained beyond that and he pretty much offers her a job because he wants her and she likes him but in the beginning she made it sound like he was not attractive at all even referring to his as Dracula and her fellow employee hid under the counter from him totally dumb he's just pale geez ....Trixie was pretty funny at times she made me laugh but it got a little corny because she was constantly telling jokes or saying something funny.....like the first paragraph was pretty funny she says she had to come into work because another waitress slipped and sprang her butt I laughed so I hard my fiancé was looking at me like what the heck lol....I would say kind of a happy ending and a bit of a cliffhanger because it definitely has you thinking you've got tone kidding me it ends like that??

I didn't know what to expect but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot.
Funny and entertaining romance between a poor, intelligent, witty and quirky college girl working in a restaurant and a rich guy with a vampire-like problem to his skin: he is violently allergic to sun and can't go out without a very strong screen and clothed all over.
I liked the two main characters but also the secondary ones were nice.
The story was quite short and didn't end with a bad cliffhanger (there is some sort of ending) but the story still continues...so I am going to continue the series.

I ONLY READ THE FIRST BOOK OF THIS SERIES AND I LIKED IT. IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE READING A MEXICAN SOAP OPERA. A SAMPLE OF THE SECOND BOOK TO THE SERIES IS AT THE END OF THE FIRST BOOK.
I SERIOUSLY WASN'T EXPECTING THE STORY TO BE OF A SKIN CONDITION. I KEPT SAYING TO MYSELF "HE'S GOING TO BITE HER!"
I AM READING ANOTHER BOOK AT THIS TIME AND I WILL START READING THE SECOND OF THIS SERIES. (HOPEFULLY NEXT WEEK)
THE DOWN FALL OF THIS BOOK IS THAT IT WAS TOO SHORT. I WISH MORE CHAPTERS WERE ADDED!

Interesting and snarky

Initially, the writing came off as juvenile, but progressed to some semblance of maturity. I grew to really like the young woman. She is someone I would love to hang out with. The story held my attention but I feel cheated as the author or publisher felt it necessary to break the tale up into segments. I am no so impressed that I feel the need to purchase more snippets for an outrageous price. Sad, I would've loved to see what unfolded between them.

Interesting, but not the best.

I enjoy how strong and capable Trixie is, however, somethings are quite disjointed and I didn’t understand a few basic plot lines in the story. I did fully enjoyed the book, and look forward to reading more from the series. But gave it to stars because of some of the flaws, and some of the exaggerated humor.

This book was a good read for me. I think that the Author portrays the guy's aflictions very well. Many people can identify with the feelings of not being accepted and/or understood by society so this is a good point in which the characters connect with readers. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about some romance and an accurate portray of human afflictions.

Such a funny cute book. I really wish it was longer. I wanted more. I loved trixie. She was funny and sweet. I felt bad for John but loved how he seemed child like. I don't really write reviews but I had to for this story. Read it! You'll like it!

Very intriguing read!

I wasn't sure about this at first since it was much shorter in pages than what I'm used to reading but other readers reviews were great so I gave it a try. I am sooooo glad I did as this was an incredible read. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Very well written. Love how the author use humorous, witty dialogues. Trixie was a very personable character. Charming, witty with a great sense of humor. Great read but very short. I bought book 2 & 3 as well, Pale Companion and Pale Lover. Finished all of it within 3 days.

Im not really sure how I felt about this book. It was sweet but a little bit silly at times. I may pick up the second and third but it may be a while. If you want a quick read this is fine but not what id recommend.

The story wasn't that great, but the author is very witty and had me laughing. That said, though, I'm not going out of my way to read the next chapter/part of this story.

Fun, with an actual story!

Fun, smart mouth female character. There is an actual unique story here, everything does not end perfectly and a great non cheesy ending.
