A tour of some of the most famous shipwrecks in the world, those both accidentally sunk or sunk on purpose (to create a reef or in a war). Each shipwreck gets 2-4 pages with detailed, full-page illustrations of the wreck, historical information about the ship/vessel, and some scientific information about marine archaeology, reefs, and more.
The large illustrations and the bite size sections this is broken up into make the book fly by pretty fast. It is informative, easy to read, and draws you in with the illustrations. I can see those interested in real life tragedies, marine archaeology, and divers being interested in this book (it highlights a lot of popular dive sites). The bit about the photograph of the possible iceberg that struck the Titanic with a red stripe on it is a historical detail I’ve never read in any other book. There were many interesting tidbits for random fact sponges in this.
