another chance, tired browsing, library audiobook find 🙂
I think it is likely kinda OK for the short introduction it is... tho it's harder to tell than if I'd accessed a paper/print copy (with bibliography etc).
I didn't find it a particularly engaging book to read chronologically as an audiobook... tho I have read paper books detailing the forms and qualities of crystals A-Z without losing interest. maybe something about the same voice throughout, compared to the different quiet images on paper? 🤔
accessed as a library audiobook, read by Katie Bennett .
Although most of the information is handy to have to identify any kind of crystalline, mineral or geological formation, I became skeptical on the authors knowledge once she showcased photos of heat treated amethyst and portraying them as 'Citrine'. Incorrect presentation of Citrine crystal unfortunately, which is a common misinterpretation of both stones.
I think this a great beginners introduction to crystals. I like that each crystal had a illustration along with the characteristics, but also a little about how to use/apply them. It did have a bunch of interesting information, but I think it could have gone a little bit deeper into the uses. Like I said, it is a good introduction, that does draw interest into doing a deeper dive. I also have to say I liked the overall layout of the book with a little bit of history, good descriptors and identification with an A-Z layout. The quotes were a fun touch too. It was not exactly what I thought it would be, but rather combines the scientific with the mythical/supernatural, but interesting none the less, with nice illustrations and an easy to read layout. If you're looking for just science or deep dive into crystals, this probable of not as much interest to you, but if you like combination trivia, science, supernatural, and mythology, then this would probably be right up your alley.
This book was such a good starter book to get to know about crystals and the uses behind each crystals. I definitely recommend this if you’re wanting to get into crystals as there’s so much information about the background to crystals! My crystal wish list has got a lot longer since reading this book!!
Not going to lie, I needed a small book to get closer to my reading goal so picked this up off my bookshelf. I’ve always been intrigued by crystals but I don’t think this book really taught me anything or was detailed enough. Although not sure I should really have had very high expectations given it is the LITTLE book of crystals so my bad!
A mesmerising insight into the knowledge crystals has given us since centuries. The incredible energy which is revealed to us during meditation, spells and the time of need. A great introduction to the subject I'll definitely get deeper into.
Another one-day read of a LITTLE book about crystals. I enjoyed this one way better. It included pictures and way more information that are very useful. I also enjoyed the little quotes at the beginning and the end of each chapter. This book is also extended by some white witchcraft, not a lot but some lil basics that were very interesting to read about.
I loved this little book and it will become a useful reference. I first discovered crystals when I learnt about Feng Shui and have a clear crystal stack in me bedroom window to capture the Eastern light. Albeit ti small it explained about quartz crystals and energy and suddenly my thoughts on crystals feel into place. I am now going to explore the topic further.
This is a good pocket size book on crystals, and seems to cover all the common options, with some lesser well known ones as well. It's not as informative as other books on this topic, but I think if you're newly into crystals this is a good resource to tuck into your bag and take with you.
I love this book! It’s really good for beginners as it has descriptions of crystals and what to use them for etc. Also states how to charge them and how to use them!
