I really wanted to like this, but oh well. Where do I start? Saying that reading this book was a waste of time would be an understatement. I started this book two years ago and I just kept on giving up on it just to pick it up again and again, hoping that maybe it will get better later on- it didn't.
The mentality is so old fashioned but somehow this book still tries to appear as that nonconformist and groundbreaking work of literature whose theories and povs have never been shown before to the average reader. No offence, but it ain't that deep. The narration wanted to come off as cheeky and intelligent but only managed to be condescending and mediocre at best.
I have learned nothing from this book. The best description for this book would be "a nice package for an empty box". The excessive use of fancy words to describe the most simplistic ideas makes this book utterly obnoxious. The topics were interesting but discussed in a shallow manner and everything felt rushed.
By the way, there are more types of people than the "idiot macho man" and the " bimbo materialistic woman", maybe look into that.
The only things that I liked about this book were maybe a few obvious quotes that I have seen a thousand times before- so yeah, that's it.
