Rob redeemed himself. :)

"Sigh" Book 1 of the Love and Trust series did not disappoint. I. Loved. It. Even though this is the beginning of the series...this is "Rob's story"...and once again we get to return to the beautiful little town of Fircrest. This book could stand on its own but I think it's so much more enjoyable having read Shannon Guyman's Love and Dessert series first. You are reintroduced to all of the characters you come to love throughout those books which makes this story all the more fun. Having come to despise Rob in book 2 of Love and Dessert....I was wondering how much I would like hearing more about him and his crazy mother :)...but I was so pleasantly surprised. Though he's still not perfect and still makes some idiotic mistakes along the way...I found myself definitely cheering him on and loving him by the end. His mother is still crazy though. :)lol As for our heroine, we are introduced to the adorable and talented little chef Wren. Her character is so likable and I loved that she continues to get stronger as the story continues. Kam Matefeo however, steals the show for me. He is my official new favorite sidekick. :) He is first introduced in the Love and Dessert series and I couldn't have been happier to see him return! I can't wait to read his story.
Come To Me is a beautiful, light, clean romance. I'm so excited for the rest of the series!

I really enjoy this series and I was so glad Rob got his own book. He was an interesting character in the original series (Love & Dessert) and I wanted to see him get his happily every after.

Rob used to play professional baseball and had to retire when he was injured. He opened a restaurant in his home town and that has become his new passion. After suffering heartbreak in the previous books I was looking forward to seeing him find love, and maybe get humbled a little along the way as well. He hired Wren a few months ago and is starting to look at her in a new light. Rob is an interesting character, he has a lot of charm and good qualities, but he makes some pretty dumb mistakes. He always seems to put his foot in his mouth too. He can be clueless. I liked Wren quite a bit, she was friendly and stuck up for herself when she needed to. I thought they made a cute couple, bringing out the best in each other.

We also get to meet Rob's younger sisters Taryn and Bailey and I love their stories too! Overall, another fun addition to the series!!

So I've had this love/hate relationship with Rob since the Love and Dessert trilogy. I loved him... then hated him... then liked him... then thought he was a putz... and in the end... I loved him again! Rob has been burned before in the past and decided that all beautiful women are nothing but trouble and he will just stay far away from them.

Wren is his sous chef at The Iron Skillet and everyone loves her. She is adorable, sweet, caring, talented and a bit shy. She believes that food should be an adventure and tries to get the head chef to branch out a bit. Of course he completely disagrees and yells at her. When Rob finds out what had happened, he became a bit over protective of Wren. And when he finds out that she has the same feelings about food that he does? Let their adventure begin!

And what an adventure it was! Between falling in love, someone trying to sabotage the restaurant, a crazy mom, new friendships being built, rugby games, jealousy, fights, heartbreaks... all I have to say is there is never a dull moment in Fircrest!

I absolutely LOVED the ending! I got my HEA but I also got set up for Be Mine... the next book in the series! YAY! Another amazing book by Shannon and you will NOT be disappointed!

So. Stinkn'. CUTE!!!

Shannon Guymon is one of those rare gems whose books I have regrettably overlooked for a long, long time.

Upon completion of the first book I finally succumb to, I thought to myself, "All right, that was actually pretty good."

Completing the second book I thought, "Ok, this is really good."

After the third, "Why has it taken me so long to read these books!?"

And now, after finishing Come To Me, I declare that I am a fan for life!

Guymon has this miraculous ability to write about relationships that are overflowing with abundant amounts of cuteness! The men she dreams up are the types that make you sigh and say, "Oh...if only you were real."

And because of the fact that you are emotionally attached to these characters, the drama that ensues is that much more intense and dramatic. It truly breaks your heart to see these characters struggling and in pain.

I can't even begin to express how excited I am for future novels from this author. And I about peed my pants when I discovered that she also writes under a pen name...More novels await me! Mwahahaha!!

I really loved the first book in this series. It's a spin off from the last series so we get to see all the old familiar characters and that feels good. It's like old friends who are still around but aren't the focal point anymore. I was glad to see Rob finally get his HEA. It was time. Clean, easy reading. Romantic fluff. Lots of talk about yummy sounding food. :)

Read The Love and Dessert Trilogy first so you can appreciate Rob and how he managed to redeem himself and turn into the man we once hoped Kit would end up with. Loved Wren & Kam and looking forward to the rest of this series! Review coming soon...

When you've been burned before, it can be hard to trust again.

I love these trilogies! Rob is a minor character in the previous trilogy, Love & Dessert. He owns a restaurant that is very successful. Part of the reason why he does so well is that he has a very dynamic and personable personality. He makes it a point to know what's going on in his employees lives and does what he can to make their work experience pleasant. As Wren noted, "The more I get to know you, the more I realize that I like being in the sun. It's warm and I'm so tired of being cold."

Wren was hired on as a sous chef right out of culinary school and she's adorable--like a poet. She's the chess nerd to Rob's jock status. Wren thinks outside of the box and comes up with fabulous food creations, much to the head chef's dismay, but she doesn't have much confidence in herself. She's one tough woman though--her first meeting with Rob's mother was absolutely hilarious and proved that she just needs to believe in herself and all things are possible.

Rob can be kind of a jerk, but he's really good for Wren, just as she is good for him. I love a good, clean romance with great characters! I loved seeing the sisters (Layla, Kit, and Jane) from the Love & Dessert trilogy. When I'm drawn into a story and can actually visualize the setting, smell that great food, and don't want to leave, I know it's a winner and this one definitely is.

Clean romance (kissing)
No language
Mild violence (talk of a past suicide, a fight during a rugby game)
Mild religion (one scene attending church, but no preaching; mentioned that they prayed)

This is the first book in her Love and Trust trilogy, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second!

We meet Rob Downing, a former baseball player who now owns a restaurant. He has two sisters and a mom that he loves. His mom really wants him to get married, (and she's a bit on the psycho side actually. I had a hard time with her overall) but he's had a breakup and while he wants to be married, he hasn't found the right girl.

Enter his sous chef at his restaurant.

Wren is sweet and everyone loves her. She's got a past she's trying to overcome, though, and just wants to keep her job and keep her head down. The head chef pretty much hates her and makes her life miserable. Rob steps in to help and well, things just go from there.

A fun story, with the twist of the restaurant background and food talk. It seriously made me hungry while I was reading it. A sweet romantic read!

LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!
LOVED the characters!
LOVED the storyline!
LOVED this book!
I couldn't put it down!

Wren has landed a great job as a sous chef in restaurant.

She also got a condo as part of the deal...

And the fact that the owner, Rob, is cute doesn't hurt at all.

The only drawback is Jared...the head chef.

Rob is getting pressure from his mom to getting serious about dating.

See what happens when Rob starts to pay more attention to Wren...

Watch as Jared gets jealous..

Witness what happens when Wren shakes off her past and stands up for what she really wants...

Will life turn out like the storybook romances or will Wren be out of a job and a home?

What a FUN book!
Can't wait for book 2 in these series to come out!

This was a fun easy read. It was ok written with a silly plot and fun love story. Shannon's books are a light read when you just want something to breeze threw. I thought our main character was a mess and liked the change threw the book as she grew up and saw things in the right way. I love the men in her books, totally unrealistic and amazing but very fun to read about. I couldn't read more in the series or it would get repetitive. These are clean romances with a touch of church.

I love the dimensions in Shannon's characters. I finished I Belong With You barely liking Rob, and by the time I finished My Sweetheart, I was back on decent terms with him. I loved how this book not only helped me to better understand Rob, but also get to know and appreciate Wren and the amazing connection they have. I love the Fircrest books and I am so glad they keep on coming! Anne Downing and her "family councils" crack me up!

Wren and Rob’s story was fun to read, since they were side characters in another book I read. Wren is one of the new chef’s at Rob’s restaurant. The way they fall in love is pretty fun to read. This story had all that I needed—romance, cute characters, tension, humor, and bad guys. Great read!

Sweet love story with the realistic mother who wants all her children married and producing grandchildren, fun, carismatic characters, and hilarious sibling interaction as they try to get their mother's attention off them.

Spolier:
Rob is a successful ex baseball player that now owns a restaurant, but hasn't found the right woman to marry and start a family with. He dates beautiful women that are successful in life, but hasn't found the attraction and interest until his quiet, cou chef gains his attention when his sister, Taryn who is manager of his restaurant lets him know that the chef was yelling at Wren. In talking to Wren about the incident, he wants to know more aboiut her. He gives her a chance to show her talents in coming up with new recipes for the menu despite the sour attitude of the chef, Jared. She wow's him with her menu. He becomes very forward in telling her of his interest in her and she him. They start to date and immediately hit it off. Bailey, Rob's other sister is a reporter for the newspaper and writes up an article for the new menu. In the interview she uncovers some of Wren's insecurities with her past boyfriend who used her to get to her recipe ideas. She has a problem with trusting men's true feelings for her along with her ability to be loved because of her mother's suicide and "not loving her enough" to stay.
Rob deals with her insecurities when he jumps to conclusions when after firing Jared, the ex chef sabatoges the ingredients for the opening menu night and Wren has to compromise the menu just to keep the resteraunt open for the night. Rob who was out ring shopping and not answering his phone, comes into the restaurant with an old girlfriend to the changes and tells Wren how disappointed he is in her. This crushes Wren and hr faith in a future relationship.

Things work out after grand jestures are given ending in a proposal of marriage. Rob's mom is thrilled.
Taryn is still fighting her attraction to Brogan, a waiter at the restaurant who is also a graphic designer on the side. Kam the new sou chef and rugby player of Rob's is interested in Bailey, but Bailey has sworn off guys as a rule beside to just have fun with. Kam wants a real relationship and a chance.

I have been waiting for this series to come out for awhile, and the first book was definitely worth the wait!! This book will have you hooked from the first page until the last! Once you pick this book up, it is impossible to put down!!! The story is fun, charming, and will leave you smiling!!

Words of advice, don't read this book when you are hungry! Throughout this book she describes the most delicious dishes, that will make you instantly crave them!!

Shannon does such a good job of describing the characters, it makes it easy to picture them in your head! The new characters she introduces you to in this book are fun, witty, and have loveable personalities!! There is one that you feel like slapping however! She also brings familiar characters from the Dessert series into the book! This is always a fun thing, because it's like catching up with old friends!! I love how Shannon shows you another side of Rob in this story, he is definitely more swoon worthy in this book!!

The way she creates the scenes in the story makes you feel like you are there along with the characters! You can picture everything in your head, her descriptions and details are amazing!

This is a fun read, and if you are like me you will finish it in no time! It will also leave you giddy for the next books to come out!!

Come to Me is book one in the Love and Trust Trilogy by Shannon Guymon.
Rob, Taryn, and Baily Downing have been instructed by their mother, Anne, to get married and provide her with grandchildren before she is too old to enjoy them. She puts a real guilt trip on them this time.
Rob is already thinking of getting married. He just hasn’t found the right girl. Meanwhile, he has a restaurant to run and a sous chef to protect from his Chef Jared. Wren is too good for Jared to run off. Taryn who helps him run the restaurant, wants to get rid of Jared; but that would leave Rob without a chef.
Wren was second in her class and was the first choice Rob was given when he needed a sous chef. To get her to come to the small town, he arranged for a condo for her to rent and told Taryn to help Wren get situated. Taryn didn’t have to because Wren was such a wonderful person that everyone in the kitchen and the dining room staff all loved her, much to the anger of Jared. Wren keeps her calm and does her job although she itches to make changes to the menu.
When Rob gives her a chance to make changes in the menu, she is delighted. Now is she up to the challenge? Can Wren put the restaurant on top with her menu? Can she disregard the attraction she feels for Rob? Can she hold her own when they begin dating?

I enjoyed this; it had a different flow than most love stories I've been reading lately, which was refreshing. I didn't quite think the main character felt real, the way the author described her (quiet, nervous...) is totally different than how she ends up acting. Still liked her though, just a little confusing. I do wish I had read the preceding series (Love and Dessert trilogy), I didn't know they would flow together. I can see that a lot of relationships and history took place between the characters before this book. So I'm going to read that series before I continue the rest of this one. Overall I enjoyed it!

Rob was seriously annoying in the last series, but he did a pretty good job of redeeming himself in this book. I liked Wren, though I thought she could use a bit more confidence. She stayed pretty positive with all the crap she had to deal with, and I like that she stood up to Rob when he was being an idiot. Though part of you is hoping she would fall for Kam (who is amazing! I hope he gets his own book), I was very happy with the conclusion of the story and look forward to the rest of the books in this series.

While I loved the story, I really have a hard time with these indie published novels. I admire an author's willingness to "take matters into their own hands," but there is something sorely lacking in terms of editing and formatting when the book doesn't come from a professional publishing company. I have read several of Guymon's other novels (professionally published) and enjoyed them and I will probably continue to read her work, but the experience isn't as enjoyable when I keep getting caught up on editing errors while reading.

probably more of a 2.5 for me. Cute, very cheesy little clean romance. Writing wasn't great and there are lots of editing problems, particularly a lack of commas. I did, however, appreciate the fact that there is no swearing and no sex, which is becoming harder to find in romance books. Apparently the main character is from her previous books. Maybe that's why I felt like I didn't know him well. All in all, not a terrible read, but nothing special. Pure fluff.

What a fun little novella. It was actually longer than I expected it to be--which was great! I loved Wren's personality. It was refreshing to not have a perfect hero--Rob's mistakes were endearing. Stupid, but forgivable. It was fun to read about the characters from the Love and Dessert series as we met Rob and Wren.

I'll try to update this review more later-but SO thankful that Rob redeemed himself from his whole debacle with Kit in the first trilogy. Although he isn't without fault when it comes to dealing with women, sheesh.

Another clean, easy read romance. Couldn't put it down, like the others by Shannon Guymon.

I really loved this story. It drew me in and held me. I've read others in these intertwined series, so I was familiar with many of the characters, and some characters I like better after reading this story (hint: Taryn). I look forward to reading other books in the series. Note: There are a lot of editing errors.
