To find and sink a rogue Nazi spy ship commanding U-boat forces in the Caribbean. Venezuela provides most of Britain’s oil, but Caribbean refineries and their tankers are being slaughtered by the Kriegsmarine… and it’s up to Jarvis and Meg to stop them.
However, while the U.S. Navy and the OSS make there plans, so too do their enemies. The Nazis know of Jarvis and are planning to destroy him. Turner’s Japanese foes are gathering together to devise an ultimate plan to rid them of him and his meddlesome boat once and for all!
Will turner and Jarvis prevail in their ongoing fight… or will the Axis powers drive the final harpoons into the deadly steel sharks that hunt them?

I have read all the previous books in the series. I have always been fascinated with the Second World War. Most men in my town (POP<14,000) were involved in this war. My uncle was in submarines. While on leave, my uncle's sub disappeared with all hands. So, growing up, I heard many stories about the world war. Reading this series gives me a feel for what my uncle went through.
Scott Cook is an excellent writer who gives the reader a sense of the fear and tension submariners experience. I couldn't do it. I would have a mental breakdown locked in a steel tube deep in the sea while depth charges explode. To me, this is a real page-turner. I have to pace myself, or I will be reading deep into the night.
If you're curious about the submarine service and like a good tale about World War Two, you'll really enjoy this series. It's well-written and features well-developed characters that you get to know throughout each book.
As always Scott Cook writes a "hellva" spell-binding book. Not quite as exciting as some of the books in this series, but still a good read. In this series, it is the World War II story of the SUBMARINE fleet of the U.S.A. Introduced in the first book the people carry through the entire series. You almost become friends with some of the men and women, but again, there are a few that you want to slap along side the head to get their attention. But all are fighting for each others countries. Several spots were "tear jerkers" but you really need to start at the first book of the series to get a good understanding of the problems encountered by Art Turner, Captain, USS BullShark. There are several typos that are small but annoying. One thing I wish the Author would do is to add a section at the beginning or end with what all the abbreviations are. I ran out of sticky notes writing down the abbreviations.
I'm never disappointed with any Scott Cook yarn. Started with the Scott Jarvis series and moved into Bull Shark. Scott know how sailors talk, the area where the action takes place, and the emotional toll these men endure. It was great catching up with Art, Jarvis, and their crews; felt elated when plans worked and devastated when war becomes it's deadly self. I have read all Scott Cook's series except the Dracula series...think I'll give it a shot! Thanks, again, Scott.
WOW…I just finished Scott W. Cooks “Bull Shark” series. What a great series of adventures. Book number 8 was the final one I read and it was excellent just as all the others were, yet it’s a cliffhanger! Now I can’t wait for the next book. I certainly hope he gets it out very soon..! Fantastic Series, and you should read the “Bull Shark” series as soon as you can. Each book is exceptional….!
While a good read. It was a little far fetched on the clandestine side. However looking for the next book in this series. My brother served in Wii and while not on sub the lingo is close.
2 stories in one with a familiar crew and some new characters at war in different oceans vs different enemies and antagonists. An enjoyable fiction tied to historical events and milestones. Left me hangin’ - can’t wait for book 9!
Author however showed his young age however in stating that they pulled the tab on their beer. Tabs did not appear on beer cans in the 1940’s. Church keys were used to open beer cans. I know, pickie, pickie, but have read the series and looking to the next book.
Very good read, full of action. A good mix of both action and and personal feelings on both sides. Moving from Pacific to atlantic makes you pay attention and gives you a broader picture on different outlooks of the war.
Where the story line is some what unlikely it is very effective. As a history nut the the back ground is quite accurate but as it is fiction you should just sit back an enjoy.
a very well written dialog, that will keep you on your toes.... waiting for the next straw to drop... Captain's Jarvis and Art Turner in Megalogdon and Bull Shark keep evading the best traps laid for them..... 10 Stars for Scott Cook
I enjoyed this book. I have read the other books in this series and found this one to be of the same quality as the others. I look forward to the next book.
