DISCOVER A GRIPPING HISTORICAL NAVAL ADVENTURE SERIES FROM A BESTSELLING AUTHOR.

Perfect for fans of John Drake, C.S. Forester, Patrick O’Brian, Griff Hosker and Bernard Cornwell.

1660. The Royal Navy is establishing itself as the world’s dominant naval power.

In Yorkshire, Scarlett Browning, daughter of prolific smuggler Smoker Browning, is establishing herself as a skilled sailor aboard her father’s ships.

Spotting the chance to legitimise their endeavours, Scarlett switches to privateering. With their letter of marque (proof of the English Crown’s consent), Scarlett and her crew head to the Channel. There they attack French and Spanish vessels, topping up the English Treasury — and their own coffers.

Scarlett proves herself a merciless captain, capable of silencing her enemies with cut-throat efficiency. One violent clash leaves her twin brother blinded — and fires up Scarlett’s bloodthirsty appetite for revenge.

She commandeers a French ship and heads to the Caribbean. There her ruthless raids come to the attention of the Spanish Inquisition, who are determined to seize and punish this ferocious female captain.

Scarlett finally comes face to face with an enemy even more savage than she is.

An enemy bent on destroying her whatever it takes.

Biography
I am descendent of a long line of Dorset clay miners and have chased my family tree back to the 16th century in the Isle of Purbeck. I have been a public speaker at conferences for most of my career in the Aerospace and Automotive industries and was one of the founders of a successful games company back in the 1990’s.
Now in my sixties, and living in the Netherlands Antilles, I finally got to write the stories I had going around in my head for many years. Thanks to inspiration from the great sea authors like Alexander Kent, Dewey Lambdin, Patrick O’Brian and Dudley Pope I was finally able to put digit to keyboard and start writing the Dorset Boy series.
I make no apologies that I write for myself. The stories emerge as I write and I am often surprised by the twists and turns that they take.

Cold blooded, but possibly can be viewed sympatnetica!ly

A story describing the demands placed upon a capable young woman and describing her hurt when barbaric treatment is exacted on those and loved and those of her cadre.

A decent sailing adventure

I enjoyed the sea going adventures, but had a bit of trouble with her age. There were too many decisions made that I felt were beyond a seventeen\eighteen year old inexperienced girl would or could have made.

hot action

whata fun filled salty action story. Loved every bit of it. Swashbuckling at it's best, even if I can't spell it. Now on to, book two. Scarlett Fox I'll follow you anywhere.

Well written easy to read, good characters, excellent battle scenes. Not too troubled by ‘love story’ incidentals.
A very cruel world of the 18th century, a time of the Spanish Inquisition and government encouraged piracy from all the wannabe empire countries.
I am disturbed and feeling guilty by my support and even liking for the main character, a psychopathic teenager who can torture, maim and kill with only a profit motive in her mind.
Perhaps I will seek counselling for that.
But not until I have read the last in the trilogy !

Interesting in places

I was hoping for more from this book to be honest. I was not expecting a story to rival Patrick O’Brien, but it needs to be much more cohesive and proofread properly. The characters have no depth, the grammar is poor, and the ending is a very damp squib.

A great Privateer novel

Twins Brother and Sister go from smuggling to being Privateers. A great read, easy to like main characters, and taking it to the Spanish Inquisition.

Absolutely brilliant.

I can only say that the seafaring knowledge was really exciting the way it was spoken, this author really done his housework or he did serve at sea, I fell into this book and did not want to put it down. A great read and highly recommended.
