I loved her when I wasn’t allowed to, and in death, she’s all I think about.
Purgatory is the life I never knew I wanted. I’m able to release the rage I’ve kept locked inside my entire life. When the fog hovers above the ground, I am in one place. The Graveyard. A fighting ring where I can unleash the violence my werewolf craves. The winner of every round gets a step closer to getting out of purgatory. The loser has their existence wiped from the universe. With one drop of blood spilled, I think of her. Elouise. I remember being young and in love with a vampire I wasn’t allowed to be with. Our love was forbidden. And that fuels my lividity. My love for her keeps me strong in a place so wicked. I thought our time together ended when we were seventeen. Until I see her in purgatory. Only to learn the real fight has just begun.
January Rayne is a pseudonym I decided to use because it sounds better than my given name. I’m a lover of all romance and write in the genres I love most because why limit myself? I want to write anything and everything, from badass men and women to characters who want to rip each other’s clothes off. I plan to ‘take it all’ like the good little girl I am.
I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Take the best parts of Damned, the adventure and world building from Cursed, add a little darkness and you have Eternally Lost.
I loved every second of this book. This is definitely by favorite of the series now. I absolutely love Aziel, and truly don’t know if I can choose between him and Alex as my favorite man of the series. Don’t make me. I refuse.
I loved how much Aziel was all about Eloise and everything that she is. Their sweet moments and the way he learned things to take care of her and remembered it all despite everything he went through was so heartwarming. But then in a heartbeat can be the alpha wolf that he is. He is a slaying machine, let me tell you. You didn’t want to be on his bad side.
I love that we now have a black FMC in the series getting the love that she so deserves. While Louie is feisty, strong, and a fighter; I loved that she allowed herself to be vulnerable for the ones that she loves. I can say both Aziel and Elouise had this trait and I loved it. Aziel only for Elouise though. lol.
Leave it to January to write yet ANOTHER side character I love. Give my bear baby Iggy his mate ASAP. I love him so much and can’t wait to see him be loved by his mate, hopefully his mates an alpha, because I need a full alpha x omega story from Jan. OMG!!!
I cried during one specific scene, like ugly bawling and I will say I don’t think I’ll ever forgive January for that, it was pain I didn’t need.
I’m super glad to see some plot progression of things for the overall series and can’t wait to see where it leads. I will say, I’m glad I guessed right on something specifically but also, ugh.
Definitely a must read if you like Vampire x Werewolf mates with lots of spice, back breaking… literally, and a life or death adventure in purgatory.
DNF 28% all because of their first intimacy scene.
i don't know about you but for me it's a completely turn off if a girl is dirty talking to the point that it's triking my mind thinking she is a male LOL. It's like she takes away his masculinity xD lol, i want an alpha male not a beta :))
Aziel & Elouise: Love them More Than Maven & Alexander- 5 Stars!!!
As a lover of January Rayne’s books, the Eternally Series is definitely my favorite. As the series advances, the books get more intense and dark. The series has reached a new level of greatness and ETERNALLY LOST is a testament to this fact.
Book six of the series is the story of Anwyll’s (of ETERNALLY CURSED) older brother, Aziel, whom we’ve met briefly in ETERNALLY DAMNED & ETERNALLY CURSED, as he battled the sickness, a disease that affects paranormals who don’t find their fated mate within a certain time frame.
The last time we saw Wolf-Shifter, Aziel he’d entered into a deep sleep from the effects of a cure administered to him from coven witch, Maven and Anwyll. Aziel’s soul was displaced from his body and was relocated to Purgatory, where Aziel has to fight and kill to survive. With the help of a familiar Shallow Cove character, learns of a way out of the nightmare-ish place and begins a quest to leave Purgatory. However, on his quest for more clues to return home, he discovers another soul in Purgatory that he didn’t expect to see. His first love, Elouise.
Aziel has been smitten with Elouise as children and fell in love with her when they were both teens. Yanked apart due to the whole Wolf/Vampire feud, they lost contact for years only to be reunited in the hellish confines of Purgatory. Will they both survive the trials of Purgatory and find their way home to finally have the ‘happily ever after’ they were robbed of years ago?
OMG!!!! From start to finish this book kept me on the edge of my seat. January Rayne’s writing continues to amaze me! I fell in love with these characters as teens, as they were absolutely adorable with their fresh, young love amongst the adversity of their species. Although from two different paranormal worlds, they were determined to be together in spite of it all. This was such a refreshing love story where you could feel the emotions and feelings each character had for the other through the pages!
And if you know any thing about January Rayne books, there is going to be spice and plenty of it. Aziel and Elouise heat helped fuel the Purgatory fires that burned hotter than the deepest pits of Hell. So, buckle up… this one is extra, super S-P-I-C-Y!
January Rayne always provides her readers with such engaging stories they reel you in from the word “PROLOGUE”. The world building is simply sublime, her characters are multi-dimensional, and the storylines are so complex, you feel as if you are on the journey with Aziel and Elouise.
Get ready because this one tugs hard at your emotions. I rooted for them. I cried for them. I rejoiced for them. So, I am confident that you will too.
I caught a few Easter eggs in this book. They were cleverly hidden and I didn’t catch them until my second read through. If you follow January’s books, you will understand and catch them. The fun part is connecting the dots with the other books.
Bravo, Ms. Rayne! You have once again proven yourself to be one of THE BEST paranormal authors in the game!
Friends in the beginning, a forbidden secret love between a werewolf and a vampire, then ripped apart, only to find each other again while both being lost in Purgatory.
Aziel doesn't know if Elouise was his fated mate or not, but he knows he can't live without her. He purposes they run away to be together, and Elouise is all for the plan until her father finds them, taking Aziel down and ripping Elouise away. Both will find each other again in Purgatory, also finding that they are, in fact, fated mates! Talk about spice that two monster mates can bring the table! It was fire! Aziel is so possessive, protective, and deeply in love with Elouise. Elouise, her little bada$$ vampire self, has kept herself and her friend Iggy alive for their time in Purgatory, but is ready to fight to keep her mate safe as well... even though he is the big bad wolf that keeps them all safe. As fated mates, they can get enough of each other - which gags poor third-wheel, Omega bear shifter, Iggy. The trio make their way through purgatory, hopeful to make it out a live.
I truly enjoyed this book. I did start this series with this book, so I will admit there was some confusion on the world building, but I did make it through okay - the love between Aziel and Elouise made it so easy to enjoy and cheer for them. I enjoyed it enough even though I didn't read previous books, but I will be going back to book 1, Eternally Damned.
January is at it again. I have read most of this eternal series. I absolutely love this authors writing. She surprises me with every book I read.
This is not a stand alone and should be read in order. Even tho this is a side characters book, we get an amazing paranormal story.
Definitely check the TW before you start. ( I don’t because I don’t know if I have any)
I really enjoyed the dimension and world building in this book. Purgatory is a very base, primal created dimension; for souls that are stuck in the in-between for paranormals.
We get the story of Aziel and Louie. We briefly learned of Aziel in a previous book in this series. It starts out in a small scene from the past when they are both younger and best friends who are in love and want to be together, but are torn away from each other. We then jump to the future or present day 15 years later or so. We find ourselves in purgatory, trying to find a way back home. The demons of purgatory love to trick your senses and your mind to make you go mad.
I really enjoyed watching these two mates find each other and come together after being apart for so long. She really threw in a great twist towards the end of the book that I probably could’ve seen coming, but I didn’t because I was too engrossed in the story. There’s a lot of unhinged but amazing spicy scenes. I feel like every book new book she releases gets more unhinged in the bedroom and I love it. I can’t wait to read more stories from this series.
Aziel's body was healed from the madness, but his soul was sent to Purgatory, where he must fight to survive chasing the dream of freedom. When he scents his long lost love, he thinks it's a trick, but Elouise is real. Reunited in a hellish landscape, Aziel and Louie realize the mate bond they were denied in their youth is true. Aziel is determined to keep them alive long enough to uncover enough clues to escape Purgatory. With old foes and new ones cropping up and the threat of their window closing, it's a race against time to free their souls and reunite in the real world.
Oh goodness, I'm speechless. This one had everything I've ever loved about vampires, werewolves, and paranormal romances, mixed with the author's unique ability to hold my soul in her hands and wring it dry with each page. I felt like I was right there with every scene and emotion Aziel and Louie experienced. The old and new faces give such depth to this world, inter-weaving details big and small. I didn't want it to end, just as much as I craved each next page to fuel my addiction. Vicious, bl00dy, and enthralling, this story was the perfect addition to a series that already owns my heart. I'll be thinking about this one for ages.
At the age of 17 Aziel and Elouise were in love and ready to leave their families behind to have a life together. Their plans were ultimately ruined and they were separated for years. They reunited in purgatory where they fight to survive to make it back to their dimension. Now that Aziel has his beloved we get to read this other side of him that is so caring and loving towards only her: he buys her all the blood cloudberries she loves for her hair, how meticulous he is with combing her curls and braiding it, bathing her, putting his needs aside to make sure she is safe and fed. Ugh I just love Aziel so much bc regardless of all the heartbreak and death he endured he proved time and time again that deep inside he has so much love to give especially for his Louie 💙 Oh gosh the last fight that Aziel had in purgatory absolutely destroyed me! My poor Az has really been through so much 💔 I’m just glad he made it out and has his beloved at his side forever. Ugh I want to read moreeee! Especially about their future little family 🩶
Between the lost & found second chance, forbidden romance, and piping hot spice, Eternally Lost quickly became my favorite book of the series!
I loved seeing Aziel’s growth from when we first met him in book 1 to now. he was broken and battered and literally put through the ringer, only to have everything in the end and i loved it so much. i literally have no idea what i would have done had his mate ended up being anyone but Elouise 😂🥹
if there’s one thing January Rayne is going to do, it’s write the hottest, most toe curling smüt i’ve ever read. and when we’re talking about fated mates literally fighting for survival, an insanely over-possessive werewolf male, and a vampire princess who he was forbidden to see again? recipe for deliciousness.
oh, did i forget to mention both of them are virgins?? 🫣
every second of this book captivated me and made me want more! hats off to January Rayne for doing the damn thing yet again 👏🏻
Once again January Rayne has taken us on an amazing journey. I don't spoil any plot lines or summarise the story so the facts are. This is the next instalment in the Shallow Cove Dimensions series. This is the tale of Aziel (Were) and Elouise (Vamp). This story is brilliant! This is book 6! You should be starting at book 1 because for me this series is not stand alone and every character is entwined with others. Each character has their HEA within their book. Characters are solid and side characters become main leads. This world creation is second to none and you can't compare the stories to other authors. January hits this genre out of the park into the next state. There are triggers be sure to read them because theese books aren't for everyone.
Oh my gosh!! This story had me hooked. Hooked! I couldn't stop until I was finished. I loved everything about this. What they have to face, it's a lot of mind games and takes a toll on them. But these two are destined to make amazing things happen. There were so many laugh out loud moments. As well as moments of shock. I don't even want to get into it too much, because I want you to trust me when I say, "You need to read this book." Experience it. Meet these characters and go through Purgatory with them. It's a constant battle, but it's also a wonderful story of love, unlikely friendships, and revelations that play into what's to come.
i was glued to this book from start to end , Aziel and Elouise are amazing , hes epic and strong and is a brutal fighter and shes funny and just as strong , beautiful and kind and the way she teases him, they way they give each other strength and omg the spice 🥵🥵🥵🤯🤯🤯 i dont want to give to much away here because hopefully my friends will read this soon and enjoy it as much as i do and im sure they will love where the story takes place .
January thank you for not giving up you , your husband and your team are so amazing for supporting you, i want to give them a big thank you , your books are epic 💜
Oh my godddddd, the characters, the world building, the details 🤌 the fact that this was set in Purgatory was so uniquely interesting and the scenery was so vivid, it had me breezing through it! Aziel is an unapologetic, vicious MMC who will do ANYTHING to protect his mate (and I mean anything... The Graveyard IYKYK 👀😭) Elouise is strong, protective and sassy (and don't get me started on Iggy that feisty little fluff ball, I have a special place in my heart for him). The plot twists that were mic dropped in had my jaw on the FLOOR. I gasped, I giggled, I squealed and I clenched my... Uh, hands 👀 another fantastic book from January Rayne, she 👏 never 👏 misses 👏
Well January Rayne knocked it out of the park yet again! The story was again fantastic and continued to build the world from the previous books. The characters were so well written and the development of them throughout the course of the story 👌🏻
This is a fated mates, forbidden love, second chance romance so you already know its going to be a delicious read! The story was gripping i read it in two days only because adult responsibilities got in the way if not I'd have devoured this in one sitting!
The obstacles that these characters have to overcome only draws them that much closer together and the love for each other certainly shows and thats not including the spicy scenes. The spice 🔥 was spicy 🥵 but didn't overshadow the story. Found myself getting hot under the collar with those scenes 🤣
Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Another fantastic read in the series. This is part of a series so i do recommend reading them in order.
Aziel has been in a coma with werewolf sickness since his brother Anwyll's book. We found out that he is in Purgatory. And in this book we finally hear about his journey back and finding/reuniting with his mate.
This was really good. I was so happy to hear that this would be Aziel's book because he's one of the characters I most wanted to see get a book soon.
His backstory was so sad! I was so sad to hear what happened to him and his long lost love Elouise. They met as teens, but being that he's a werewolf and she's a vampire, their relationship was forbidden. And then to find out he actually bit her while under the curse and she's been in a coma for years! Crazy twist.
But speaking of that, I was so glad to hear from Atreyu. It turns out vampires in a coma from a werewolf bite go to Purgatory. So that's where he is at until his Beloved finds him. We got a scene with him and that was cool. Please give him a book soon!
We do get another new character too -- Iggy. He's an omega bear shifter and so adorable. I absolutely loved his personality and I hope he gets a book soon too.
Then there's Brenden and Azazel! Oh wow. We might have to deal with them again soon. Interesting! I hope they get their page back from Brenden finally so they can have the spell to walk in the sun.
Now back to the story. It was fun to trek through Purgatory. I love that this series takes us to other dimensions. It's such a fun series.
I also loved that we got to see Death and Lorcan again too. I hope they get books as well. I really love all the characters in this series. They are so vivid and well developed.
The romance between Aziel and Elouise was sweet and steamy and a little crazy too. I loved everything about them...except the bone breaking. I get that they like pain play during sex, and that Elouise heals quickly. But the breaking bones during sex for the fun of it just made me cringe. I think I'd rather they play with knives or something. This just felt wrong and weird to me.
Other than that I really loved them. They are so cute and sexy and steamy.
Overall it was another great read from this series. I can't wait to see what happens next. Love this series, the world, and the characters. So much fun and so steamy too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 Heat rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5 Tropes: 🐺Vampire FMC x Werewolf MMC 🐺Forbidden love 🐺Fated Mates 🐺Second Chance 🐺Found Family
The book was a pleasure to read, there wasn't a single page of plot that felt slow, rushed, or unneeded. I love the banter between characters, the little intimate moments, and the spice, it was a perfect blend in a unique setting. The world building in this series is fantastic. This book brought on a variety of emotions....the scene at the Graveyard for the last fight was heartbreaking. The scene where Aziel braids Elouise's hair, so freaking heartwarming. I'd say more but that would spoil all the fun. The main characters had to go through a lot to find each other again and even more to finally be together outside of Purgatory. It was such a beautifully complicated relationship, it gave the star-crossed forbidden vibes with the main characters being a werewolf and a vampire.
This book was a wild ride, this is the only book I have read with the setting as Purgatory. I feel like Iggy will make an appearance or possibly get his own book in the future, but who knows I could be imagining that feeling. Maybe it is a unpopular opinion but I would love if Death got his own book also. Anyway I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good fated mates paranormal romance with generous dose of spice. If that is something you enjoy then give this series a read you won't regret it.
*Please check the content warning in the beginning of the book*
**This book is part of a series and it is recommended that they be read in order** <<<---unless you are a rebel like me who thought she was caught up on this series but actually only read book 1.... so I wasn't completely lost but I could see how parts would have been clearer if I had read the rest of the series. Don't worry I will move them up my TBR.
As a very loud and proud supporter of January Rayne, I have been WAITING for Aziel’s story since I read Eternally Cursed, and let me just say January did not disappoint!!!!
For those who know me, they know me well enough that I do NOT cry in books. Until now there has only been two other authors to successfully do that. Eternally Lost is tied as my personal favorite with Eternally Damned!
You can feel the pain, despair, and complete heartache from Aziel starting in the epilogue. Being a young werewolf and losing someone who means the utter world to you before going under a spell and being at the mercy of an evil Sorcerer is a lot for one Character to go through. But even when the sickness tries to take him, Aziel prevailed and literally fought tooth and nail in purgatory. Until one day instead of fighting for his life, he had something else to fight for… her.
Elouise (Louie) is our mouthy, bratty amazing FMC who like Aziel has had to fight her own battles in order to survive. It isn’t until she’s in purgatory that she befriends Iggy, and the two are as thick as thieves even after Louie and Aziel find eachother once more.
Through trials and tribulations, the trio find a way to escape but not before meeting an unsavory character and finding Alex’s long lost brother.
And can we talk about the tree smashing and then the hanky panky in the bl00d of said unsavory character?! I FREAKING LOVED IT!!! Every page town had me on the edge of my seat!!!
The real question is, what does the Queen of Monster Peen have in store for us?
Sorry to Eternally Damned, but Eternally Lost is officially my new favorite book of the series.
I love that Aziel and Elouise’s love started before they knew they were fated. Don’t get me wrong, I adore fated mate insta-love, but having this kind of love made their story even more special. Plus the forbidden love between the werewolf and the vampire was a fun bonus.
Poor Aziel has been through so much, and now he’s stuck in purgatory. I was so excited when he and Elouise found each other. He deserves his happy ending, and Louie is all too happy to give it to him. And take it. She takes it alllll, if you know what I mean. 😉 They go beyond rough during the spice, but I loved every delicious moment.
I really did enjoy their story, though. It’s shorter than some of the others, but I think that just made it more intense.
I freaking adore Iggy!! He’s the best and should to be cherished and protected at all costs. I can’t wait for him to join the coven. I’m not giving any other options an ounce of energy. He has to be found and join the coven. Plus there’s a certain vampire that I’m really hoping ends up as his mate. 👀
Even though I *knew* it would happen somehow, I’m still really upset that a certain someone escaped Purgatory to get his mate. Logically, I totally know that they both have more parts to play in the story of the coven overall, but there was definitely still a part of me that had hope. 😂 They do make some good villains, though, and I can only imagine what they’ll do when working as a team.
Definitely 5/5 stars and 4/5 spice. I will eagerly be awaiting the next one!
I did receive this as an advance copy, and this is my honest review.
Going in I knew I would be amazed about the world building and the amazing characters. I have been impatiently waiting on this story for months. Now I am absolutely upset that the characters are gone for awhile, definitely a must read.
Aziel- He is a bloodthirsty, emotional, strong, and full of love Alpha werewolf. The way he loves his brother, Anwyll, and his pack is truly inspiring. He was fighting for his existence in Purgatory for awhile before he finally finds the one person. That he loves more than anyone else. His journey and character growth is emotional. I love him. (You have to read this and watch out for the bowling scene, it will have you in giggles ASAP)
Elouise- she is a vampire that is super feisty, strong willed and can take all the sexy abuse that Aziel puts her through. (The abuse goes both ways and it is consensual and super hot) Her loyalty to Iggy is amazing, one of the best female characters yet.
Iggy- he is a rare one that is for sure, and he is hilarious. The way he annoys Aziel is funny as crap. I can not wait to see more of him.
We get to learn more about Death, and you have to read it to understand the depth of that man. Had me in tears and giggles the entire time.
I highly recommend this story and the author. BUT before you do, please read the trigger warning for your own mental health.

I loved jumping back into this world; it was the first fantasy series I've read (since teen years) and I'm loving coming back to it, to meet old and new faces! January must put something in her books because she never misses!
Aziel is in Purgatory and there's only one way out, to fight in The Graveyard, to get information on how to get back home. The only thing that keeps Aziel sane is the thought of Elouise, his first, forbidden, and only love. It all comes crashing down though when he reconnects with Elouise, in Purgatory. Elouise has always loved Aziel, even though they are meant to be enemies, her being a Vampire and him a Werewolf. They were never each other's mate or Beloved, only first love; can first love reconnect and really last?
I absolutely loved getting Aziel's story and the depth and development of it. There's something about January's books that feels like coming home; even though each book follows someone new, and are set in different places, it always feels like coming home. I'd recommend reading this series in order as you'd become very lost otherwise. Definitely recommend!
The Eternally Series is one of my favorite series. I’m so grateful to find this series. Eternally Lost did not disappoint. Eternally Cursed was my favorite and that was about Anwyll and Ru. I never thought a book would make me question if they were my favorite… but this one did. Aziel and Elouise did that.
This is Vampire and Werewolf forbidden love. They didn’t know when they were kids if they’d be fated mates and they didn’t care. They were ready to run away from anyone who dared say they didn’t belong together. Torn apart by Elouise’s family and a spell put on Aziel for 15 years, only to find each other again in Purgatory and discover they were fated mates all along.
They waste no time at all rekindling their love and the spice is WILD. This is the kind of spice I want from vampire and werewolf fated mates. I couldn’t put it down. January never disappoints to give you a book full of love, heartbreak, adventure, and a happily ever after that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
If you love a good mix of plot and spice, vampires and werewolf, bone breaking, rough and wild spice, forbidden love, second chance mates, and a badass FMC that gives as much as she gets from the broody MMC? This book is for you.
So much happened in this book, I don't know where to begin. It was my first MF book I've read in months, but Mrs. January Rayne never disappoints!!! It was so good. Aziel and Louie are ripped apart, finding each other in purgatory to discover they are mates / beloved. The banter from Iggy and then Lorcan. I loved Trelo and his Purgatory Pins. The pop in scenes from Death were awesome and the way he described his pain when taking souls and how he didn't know how he'd cope when having to take theirs due to their level of love was just 💔
Seeing Atreyu was so sad, and I really hope he gets his happy ending.
Azazel and Brenden annoyed me so much. I hope Death wipes them both from existence.
That twist at the end that Aziel had bitten Louie and couldn't leave purgatory with him. January, you are such a clever writer that I never even questioned why Louie was even in purgatory. This smacked me round the head.
Also broken hearted over Aziel wiping his own father from existence and the pain he felt over those bones. 😭 sobbing!
There are so many more things I could talk about. It was just so good. I can't wait for the next.
So far I've read everything January has written and she has fast become one of my favorite authors!!
This book has ALL the spice, love, tenderness, and happiness you could ask for. There are old friends we get to meet again, which I love, and new friends we get to meet along the way!! Iggy, anyone??
I absolutely love seeing Aziel's childhood, even if it's only a small piece of it, it gives us such a great handle on what his true nature is like. Then to see him fighting for his life in Purgatory, only to have him find his Fated Mate, his lovely Eloise!! I loved getting to know Eloise and to see them find each other again and watch the young love bloom into a full fledged relationship between them as they walk and stumble along the path of being his Fated Mate and her Beloved.
I loved seeing friends from earlier in the series, Death, Lorcan and... and... Atreyu!!!! OMG that was such a surprise!! Nope, I'm not going to say anything else about him. IYKYK!!!
If you LOVE Primal scenes and chases... just wait to read the epilogue and their claiming night under the full moon!! OMG sooooo much spice!!
Definitely one of the best books I've read this year, and one of the best by January!!!
THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING!!!! I CRIED I LOST MY MIND AND THEN I CRIED AGAIN!!!!
January did amazing with this book. You feel everything in this book because of the way she wrote it. You feel these characters pain. Love, and romance!!
Aziel is stuck in purgatory fighting for his life. He speaks with Death (and man do we love him!!) AND he tells him that there is a way out but he only had a few months before he will be stuck there forever!! So he has to turn into the killer that a jerk made him be to survive. But he has only loved one woman in his entire life and that is Elouise and he will not stop until he gets back to her. Little does he know she is there with him.
Eloise has been through so much and makes friends best friends with a bear omega that she protects with everything in her. Iggy becomes her person while she is in purgatory. But she only loves on person and that is her werewolf!!
They smell each other and when they find each other they realize that they are Fated mates and will stop at nothing to be together in the real world. They fight together, she marks him, and the spicy scenes are absolutely epic!!!
But warning this book will break your heart and eventually put it back together!!!

Let me preference this review with the fact that the Eternally series is one of my favorite paranormal romance series. I have loved every single one of the books in this series but this one stole my heart and hasn’t given it back yet.
AZIEL and Elouis story is one that just sweeps you up and carries you away. Forbidden romance, lost love, curses, and comas. There’s so much love and longing between the two of them that transcends dimensions, space and time.
I feel HARD for these two and the characters they encounter on their journey through purgatory. There are appearance from characters from previous books like the horseman of Death and void Lorcan. We get a glimpse of another coven member and his current suffering. Not to mention old enemies and new characters that I am more than excited to learn more about.
All of that while enjoying the arch of rediscovered love, danger, and the ultimate happily ever after. And let’s talk about the SPICE! Lord the spice had me fanning myself and breaking out in a sweat!
This book made me laugh out loud, cry, scream, cuss, and everything in between. I highly encourage any paranormal romance fans to read this series. It just keeps getting better.
January Rayne has quickly become one of my all time favorite spicy PNR authors. The MMCs are growing possessive alphas with a soft spot for their mates and the FMCs are strong and definitely don’t leave all of the ass kicking to the men. We met Aziel in previous books when he was suffering from sickness that was driving him mad. He finds himself in purgatory, desperate to get back to his coven and brother. The scent of his first love and mate gives him more reason to get out. Elouise has been surviving in Purgatory not sure if she’d ever escape. She was ripped away from Aziel as tennagers because werewolves and vampires couldn’t be together. Fate had brought them back together. This book is sooooo spicy, and there’s a lot of violence during the scenes. Both parties are 100% onboard and consenting but if back breaking (literally) rough sex is not your thing, this is not the book for you. This series creates amazing storylines filled with some of the spiciest scenes you’ll ever read, and some really good humor. Of course no werewolf book is complete without special equipment 🪢. I cannot get enough of this series!!
Okay fair warning I knew Aziel’s story was going to be heartbreaking. Like I knowingly and subconsciously knew it would be. I was preparing myself for it since the moment I found out he would be getting his own story.
So here goes.
Aziel was meant to be Alpha of his pack. He was being prepared for his role as so but with forces beyond his and the love of his life Eloise well they were torn apart. They were best friends kind of peculiar considering they’re different species and Werewolves are lethal to vampires, but maybe fate was trolling them all along that they belonged together even though they weren’t sure they were fated mates or not.
But the journey in finding one another in the very pits of H-3- double hockey sticks is so heartbreaking. Fighting in the Graveyard for clues on how to get out of Purgatory, but feeling worthless for being cursed by Brendan and doing his vile bidding, but lucky for Aziel he no longer has to fight any demons alone he has his mate by his fighting with him and beside him for eternity.
Thank you January Raine for this amazing piece of you. You know how to pull my heart strings.
This book was everything. It was heartbreaking, spicy, funny, thoughtful, and sad. You really go through so many emotions while reading. Aziel and Elouise had to overcome many obstacles to find each other, but when they do… it’s perfection.
Elouise was intelligent, fierce, loyal, and kind. She was a true warrior who would do anything for the people she loves. She never judged Aziel for his past and offered him a chance at a better life than fighting in Purgatory.
Aziel was not a people person but he was definitely an Elouise person. He would do absolutely anything for his vampire. He was incredibly thoughtful, and even learned how to braid hair so he could eventually braid Elouise’s. I mean… swoon!!
The other characters that we get to meet are captivating and immediately lovable. I’m especially excited to learn what happens to Iggy. Where is he?! 😭
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was everything I was hoping it would be.
🔥 Fated mates 🐺 Werewolf shifter x vampire 🔥 V!rg!n MCs 🐺 Second chance 🔥 Blood trials 🐺 Forbidden love 🔥 Found family
Wow. Purgatory just got hot in other ways. When I say I love Aziel, I mean it. This perfect man/wolf has been through SO much. The one thing he never gave up on was Elouise. He knew he needed her. He needed to find her. He needed to be with her. He needed to love her and take care of her in all ways. Their love was astounding. I don't think I'll ever get over it. Elouise was an amazing character as well. She was a vampire and a strong one. She knew how to fight and stood up for those weaker. I loved her friendship with Iggy. I absolutely loved what January did with Purgatory and the creatures and nature that lived there. I loved that I could picture it like a movie in my mind. I could not put it down and was quite sleep deprived. Worth it. Both of these amazing characters fought tooth and nail to get their HEA. Their chemistry was the hottest I have ever read. It was just perfection. Full stop.
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I was so scared I wasn't gonna read the full moon, but thankfully it was there at the end!
Okay, okay, Anwyll is still my favorite werewolf, love him too much, but his brother Azriel, he was so different I loved how different the brothers were, and I love how sassy and badass Lousie was, really I enjoyed all of Iggy little parts, god, he was so fucking funny! I loved him.
AND FINALLY!!! Alex fucking brother! Oh my god! He was in this book and I ate it up and im hoping (PLEADING) that his book is next. I need this brother in my life! I've waited a long time for him, now gimma.
Saddest part of all was the death of Anwyll and Azriel father.. I legit felt the pain in my chest. Ugh, I just loved this book and I ate up all the spice, heartache, panic all in one! and I KNEW it was him that bit her, but god, the way this man race to get her to wake her up. STOP DOING THIS TO ME JANUARY!
