Broken Bonds is the continuation of the romantic and BDSM relationship between Nathaniel and Emmy. Emmy wakes up in the hospital after her brutal attack but she can’t remember the attack because of a blow to her head. What we do know is someone is out to destroy Nathaniel’s company along with Emmy herself. Emmy has many obstacles to try to overcome from her horrific few years under her stepfather’s brutal thumb. We finally learn the extent of the damage he caused her and why she turned to the BDSM lifestyle and became a Domme.
Nathaniel’s purpose in life is to love Emmy and do his best to keep her protected. He wants to get revenge on the people that have hurt Emmy, his brother Victor, and his business. Nathaniel knows one of Emmy’s attackers was his brother’s ex, Greg. But the second attacker is still a mystery because he was able to get away. Nathaniel isn’t a natural submissive but he does enjoy “playtime” with his Domme. He shows Emmy what true love is and helps break those bonds that tie her down.
I enjoyed this series so much. I loved the dual POV’s and it was a wonderful change to have the female Domme and male submissive. Nathaniel had his issues in the beginning wondering if what he felt when they were together was “right”. His head was telling him he shouldn’t enjoy this lifestyle but his body completely disagrees. I loved seeing his and Emmy’s relationship grow and change throughout the series.
This series had some hot, kinky scenes mixed in with some sweet, romantic moments, along with a little bit of mystery and suspense. By the end, you really wanted Emmy to be able to let go of her past and open up and let Nathaniel know who she truly is and why. I highly recommend reading this series.
I highly recommend reading Consensual (Club Imperial Book 1) before reading Broken Bonds. Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off and there are quite a few things explained during the first book.

I thought the first book was good (rated it 9/10) but this was even better. The storylines opened in the first book were brought to thrilling conclusions and it really was nail-biting stuff at times as Emmy and Nathaniel's relationship is put to the test repeatedly. Not the greatest writing in the world and there were quite a few annoying typos and missing words but still gripping. Oh to be Nathaniel!! 9.5/10.

Dezorientata si speriata ,neamintidu-si cine sunt atacatorii ei,ea accepta ajutorul lui Nathaniel,si se muta in somptuasa lui casa.
Tot ce-si doreste Nathaniel,este sa protejeze femeia pe care o iubeste,si ar face orice pentru ea.
Sa fiu sincera s-au cam shimbat rolurile,pentru ca in cida faptului ca Emmy are o latura dominanata,se cam lasa ghidata de catre el ,si in viata de cuplu ,dar si intre asternuturi.Nu va temeti,ca acest volum contine si multe scene de sex-BDSM,acum ca Nathaniel a renuntat la bariera mentala ,imbratiseaza cu entuziasm latura submisiva la care Emmy se asteapta.
Mi-a placut foarte mult modul in care autoarea a echilibrat balanta puterii,si faptul ca am aflat care este povestea vietii lui Emmy,m-a facut sa inteleg de ce a ales o astfel de viata.
Am fost pur si simplu oripilata cand au iesit la suprafata detaliile vietii ei,si parca acum o inteleg mai bine.
Suspansul si actiunea sunt mult mai alerte decat in primul volum,iar acest lucru mi-a placut la nebunie.
Recomand aceasta serie.Lasand la o parte poveste sexuala a protagonistilor,cartea este interesanta si din alte motive.

Holy Cow! I fell in love with the characters in Consensual but Broken Bonds was amazing. Katherine Rhodes is an amazing author. It's so refreshing to read a well written, well edited book. She delved into so many messed up issues that are taboo but enticing. However, she hit the nail on the head in explaining f'd up family dynamics and what mothers are willing to let happen to daughters in the name of love for a man. Rhodes brilliantly wound a web of espionage, sexual deviation, love and pain. It's been a long time since I had a book hangover, but I truly do today. I'm not going to be able to pick up another book for a few days, not until I fully digest and appreciate the raw, wonderful book!

Another great story, and the perfect conclusion to Nathaniel's and Emmy's story.
I still love Emmy, her strength, and even her fubarness. She's still perfect for Nathaniel, even when the past comes out.
Nathaniel is perfect. When she finally tells him the whole story, he doesn't care, other than it hurt her, and he would have done anything to take that away. Really do love him.
They were perfect together.
Now, I want to know more about Victor, who I love. Franz too, who has me intrigued.
I won't say more, for the simple fact you should go read it yourself

Holy cow this book has it all .Emmy gets beat up by Greg and Lance and franz and Nathaniel try to stop it and its Nathaniel to her rescue. There is just so much going on with Emmys secrets and when it comes out will he stay with her? He has promised to keep her safe til the men are put away for good. I dont want to give any spoilers away but this was a great book and I lovex it. I was gidted this book for my honest review. I love how she switches it from bdsm into vanilla play witch if you don't not any other way it is hard to do.

Who needs Christian, when you can have a Nathaniel! An amazing book, extremely gripping, well written, very hard to put down, along with its sister book in the series! Katherine Rhodes is a great word weaver, this is erotic, romantic, full of suspense, twists and unexpected turns. Put this on your must read now shelf, or you'll regret it!!! Book three is definitely on my to buy list without even reading any blurb, Katherine is that good!

This is the continuation from the cliff hanger in Consensual, Book 1 of the series. Read that first or you will be completely lost. Here we follow directly on with the massive upheavals that face our fated couple Emmy and Nathaniel.
I have to say, the way in which the author has written the character of Nathaniel is really uplifting. The way in which he reacts and responds throughout the extremely distressing situations that he and Emmy find themselves faced with is quite frankly, heroic. He is sympathetic without being overwhelming and he is so completely accepting of her disturbing childhood experiences that you really can’t help but fall him love with him yourself. If only all men were so supportive and loved so unconditionally….
The shear eroticism in some of the scenes between Emmy and Nathaniel are breath taking. This author knows how to write a BDSM scene.
I thoroughly enjoyed this conclusion of the story arc for Emmy and Nathaniel and I gave it four stars.

I think Nathaniel is my new book boyfriend. He's a powerful, rich businessman, romantic, protective, giving, charismatic and kinky. I love the way he cares for Emmy no matter what happens. His gentleness and understanding are so right for all that Emmy needs. Emmy is truly coming into her own by giving herself over to Nathaniel's love. She's a survivor and will continue to fight through whatever life throws at her. And, in this book life is pretty rough despite all the safeguards Nathaniel puts in place.Their kinky love story is so erotic and steamy. His absolute devotion to her makes his submission all the hotter.
I really loved both books 1 & 2 of Club Imperial. Katherine Rhodes has created strong, rich and multilayered characters. Her storylines are mysterious, intriguing, provocative and romantic. I fully intend to read the next books in series.

Another great read
This is book 2 so please read book 1 since you need to know the characters, the events, and the cliffhanger. Plus book one was very good. Please note this is a dark BDSM story but a VERY good story with a happy ending. I can't wait for more.

Emmy can't remember what happens but starts to heal and her and Nathaniel bond even more. That is until they are all put through a lot more. Will love win for all of them.

WOW, Ms. Rhodes!
I am beyond impressed!! This two book series about Nathaniel and Emmy was incredible! I was completely enthralled in this storyline and basically had to let all my home and work responsibilities go until I finished reading! I absolutely loved everything about the story and there was no question in my mind that Emmy & Nathaniel belonged together. The way Nathaniel fought for his family-to-be was impressive and reassuring. The sex/bedroom scenes were beyond beautiful and very tastefully done. These two characters had me convinced they belonged together! Check out this two part story and see if you don’t agree!!

Nathaniel ends up with a broken arm but her injuries are much worse. Nathaniel takes her home frm the hospital for protection but she fights him at every point. Emmy doesn't thinks he deserves Nathaniel and eventually leaves him with more disasters occurring. Will they ever get back together ? Will Nathaniel ever know why she is so closed off ?

I very much enjoyed this second installment to Nathaniel and Emmy’s story. There were so many details presented in this one. The reader really does get to understand Emmy on a much better level. This one is really more about her and her demons than anything else. However, Nathaniel is still steadfast in his love and admiration for her through every page. It’s an enjoyable book. I found I couldn’t stop reading it and really didn’t want to because the story is woven so well together. While the subject matter may not be to everyone’s liking, the writing is very well done.

Suspense and drama
Full of drama, passion and a little bit of danger...but the pacing was a little slow. I enjoyed the playful banter and characters. It was a good read overall.

I liked the overall story but there were many times when I thought the author missed a point and It caused me to me to have to several times go back a few pages and re read... Having to back track and clarify what the author is writing is a pet peeve of mine because it breaks the books moment...
The author used dual POV's which normally I love! However when the author uses the dual POV's with no rhyme or reason and switches back and forth it makes it harder to follow along with the story!
Secondly, time frames would go missing and instead of making a new chapter she just decided to switch scenes... Again normally I'm not this picky but you can't end one scene and the next sentence be a week later! Need to at least make a new paragraph or something!!!
As with the last book I'm a little thrown off by the lack of masculinity of Nathaniel... This is my issue I'm sure...because I typically go for Alpha take charge characters...
The Secondary cast was there however other than Franz and Victor we really don't get to know them...
This book was alright but I just didn't connect with the writing...

Broken Bonds (Club Imperial Book 2) by Katherine Rhodes is as great of a book as the first one I can’t wait to read more from this author. So Broken Bonds pick up where Consensual left off so you do have to read the first book, this book is just as HOT. I loved how this book concentrated on how Nathaniel and Emmy lifestyles can cause issues in relationships and how they can blend together if you are willing to work on it. Of course we know life isn’t that easy that they are going to explain to each other what they want and they will get to live happily ever after. As much as I loved Emmy in the first book she frustrated me in this one but in the end she got her act together. You have to read this book and see the trails and pains that Emmy and Nathaniel are put through, but the main reason you have to read this book is to see how much Nathaniel loves Emmy and that he will do anything in his power to be able to show that his heart is hers.

Heart wrenching, emotional, beautiful. An absolutely breathtaking story!
I really loved Broken Bonds! Being able to continue watching Nathaniel and Emmy work through the obstacles they face while trying to hunt down the men that hurt Emmy.
Emmy...strong and amazing Emmy, she's has been though so much in her life and she deserves the happiness she's found with Nathaniel.

Very nice follow up to Consensual. It definitely answered some lingering questions from book 1 but took quite a while to get it done. With the way book 1 ended I was expecting more storyline to intertwine with book 2 but this one really seemed to have its own plot and the answers from book 1 came at the end, almost like an afterthought. I enjoyed it, it just didn't seem to flow as well as I'd expect.
Some new questions came up for me, which I am hoping get answered in follow up books. Per the author, the next book out will be a spinoff series yet one that interconnect with this book...hopefully due out in May 2014. Looking forward to the read.

This is book #2 in the series, and is in no way able to be a stand alone. It picks up right where the cliffhanger of book #1 leaves off.
Broken Bonds is a very exciting, suspenseful conclusion to the first book. Although there is still some BDSM, it is more about the events going on, and the building of their relationship and a lot less about the sexually preferences of the characters.
Over all, I am very pleased with the book. I was at the edge of my set the entire time and could not wait to read more. I had no idea what Rhodes was going to trow at me next.
I highly recommend this book set. I am glad I stumbled across Kathrine Rhodes and can't wait to read more by her.

I liked this book even more than the first. Again, I love Nathanial. Thanks to some plot twists, Nathanial gets to be a little more alpha male in this one than in Consensual, and I was appreciative of his efforts to take care of Emmy and keep her safe. But, I also felt a little more connected to Emmy in this one, maybe because she shows a little more vulnerability.

This story started off great however it went a little stale mid way through and took a while to get exciting again.
Spelling mistakes gggrrrr incorrect grammar gggrrr wrong names used gggrrrr.
I struggled again to keep going with this book love the fact the book pulls you in straight away but it has to keep you the whole way through.
We had to wait nearly until the end till we found out what emmy's problem was.
A good read if you can get past the stale part.

I struggled again to keep going with this book love the fact the book pulls you in straight away but it has to keep you the whole way through.
We had to wait nearly until the end till we found out what emmy's problem was.
A good read if you can get past the stale part.

'Broken Bonds' by Katherine Rhodes is book 2 in the Club Imperial Series. This is a excellent follow up to 'Consensual'. I absolutely loved this book! It's a page turner! Highly recommend this series! Can't wait to read what happens in 'Not Quite Juliet' book 3 in the Club Imperial Series, Silver Soul book 1.
