So good! This cover and all of the covers in the series are especially lovely. The books have all been wonderful, but Love on a Whim is my favorite. The characters are great even though ice cream maker, control freak, and former CPA Dawn does get on my nerves at times. I really liked Brynn and Bear. Dawn's friend Brynn has made a life changing mistake and Callie wants to fix it, her way. Marnie, Dawn's mom and owner of the ice cream shop wants Brynn to listen to her heart. Naturally, Brynn is confused and that's why she is spending time at Cape Cod taking a break from her engineering job in Boston. Things really get crazy as it is the week of the wedding of Ashleigh, daughter of Marnie's boyfriend, Lincoln. The whole crew steps up to help with the festivities when things fall apart, including niece/cousin chef Callie. This story has all the emotions, conflicts, health scare, all with a good dose of healing, faith, trust, and love. Suzanne Woods Fisher hit it out of the park! For full enjoyment, read the books in order. Recommended to those who love romance with issues to overcome and a faith thread.

Suzanne Woods Fisher always leaves me feeling fulfilled after reading her books. I felt Love on a Whim deserved five plus stars. I appreciate that the Author introduces her characters before the story starts. This book grabbed me into the story and I felt myself bonding with the characters as I turned the pages. I haven’t read the other books in the series yet but I enjoyed this one so much that I will definitely be reading Book one and Book Two. One of the main points in this novel is the importance of forgiveness and listening to your heart. This book goes on my shelf of favorites.

I recommend Love on a Whim to readers of Women’s Fiction, clean read fiction and to fans of the author. I read it as a standalone but feel if I had read the other books in the series I would have felt more at home with the characters. This book is scheduled to be released on 5/7/24.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are entirely my own.

"I can’t fix everything. I don’t need to fix everything. God can handle it, all of it. Every worry, every insecurity, every unknown."

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Suuzanne Woods Fisher! The setting is in Cape Cod, which is a bucket list place I want to visit some day. It's based primarily on the Dixon family who owns an artisan ice cream shop.
Brynn Haywood visits her best friend Dawn after making a very imprudent, rash, and crazy decision while at a convention in Las Vegas. There are several subplots, and the author did a beautiful job of weaving it all together.
The characters are well developed, and I'd love to live there with them and have them all be my besties. I think Marnie would be my favorite friend. Who wouldn't want a bestie who owns an awesome creamery?

This is the third book in the series and can be read as stand-alone.

I loved the ending book to this series I have been reading along the way. When Brynn has an impulsive decision to marry a man she has only known 24 hours. She comes flying to her “adoptive family”. All she wants to do is hide. So level headed, how did she make such an impulsive choice? She offers to help out in the ice cream shop over the busy weekend. When Lincoln’s daughter arrives for her wedding over the 4th of July weekend, things get crazy. A lot of moving parts and storyline in the wrap up to this trilogy. Wonderful ending. Do not read these out of order, it will be confusing.
Best book in the series but they all very good.

The best of the whole series by far, and I LOVED the other books. This one just stepped it up a notch--or a knot. Depending on how you want to look at it.
Suzanne Woods Fisher did what she does best in this "Can't believe I did that," romantic women's fiction masterpiece. Seriously This one has everything. Family drama, personal crises, interfering friends, a Momzilla creating wedding havoc, and that's just on page one.
The best part for me? She got me. I should have seen something coming from a mile away, but I was so wrapped up in everyone's different stories that I MISSED IT.
Brilliant.
I think the most wonderful thing she did, however, was with Brynn's & TD's faith. Too often, authors give the unchurched/new Christians all sorts of "Christianese" they wouldn't know or care about yet. Fisher didn't. Her characters spoke of "God" sometimes and "higher power" at others. They used "secular" terms they were familiar with--as do nearly all people just getting to know Jesus. BRAVO (or BRAVA... whatever floats your boat).
A magnificent ending to a fabulous series. I'm going to miss it.

LOVE ON A WHIM is a quick read that you can easily read in one sitting and love every minute of it. It is one heck of a crazy emotional roller coaster ride. I have never met a Suzanne Woods Fisher book that I didn’t love and once I started reading I knew I was going on one heck of an emotional journey! Whatever you are reading, put it down, and run and get this book! If you’ve never read a Suzanne Woods Fisher novel (and you know who you are) this would be a perfect one to hook you! If you are a fan of Christian romance, you are going to love this story!

I'm sad that this series is probably ending! I have really, really enjoyed it, and it's taken a spot as one of my favorite series of all time.

This book had a focus on Brynn, Dawns best friend. As well as Bear, Links son. Brynn finds herself in a difficult place in her life, and ends up at the creamery. Around the same time, we see Links adult children and ex wife come onto the scene. Links son Bear, is very angry with Link and hurt by his absence in his life when Bear was a child. A major focus of this book is unforgiveness. I wont give spoilers, but some of what happened was a bit predictable. I really loved that all of the characters from the first and second books were in this one. I was a bit disappointed Bruno didn't have more of a role in this book. But the faith based themes were woven throughout this book as they were in the first two. Near the end of this book, I was in tears over the fate of one of the characters and then also found myself with tears of joy for another.

This entire series found its way into my heart. I love how it deals with real issues, and the journey of walking through hard things. Sometimes as believers, we expect hard things to vanish with one prayer, but more often than not, we have to go through the hard, trusting God in the process, until each right step has led us into a more secure place. And I really loved how such uplifting themes of faith worked their way into each characters story and in everything that happened with every ones hard things. It's a really great series if you need something real and uplifting. Looking forward to reading more by this author. And will probably re-read and re-listen to this series a few more times as well!

This is book #3 of the Cape Code Creamery series. I suggest reading book one and two, just because they are heartwarming, fun stories, however, each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone. I am never disappointed when I read one of Suzanne Woods Fisher’s books. They are clean, heartfelt and have loveable characters.
From the very first page, I was hooked on this compelling, fascinating story. Brynn and Dawn have been friends since their first year of college. Now well over ten years later, Dawn, is married, gave up her successful career as a CPA and owns an ice cream store with her mother in Cape Cod. Brynn is a civil engineer, living in Boston.
Brynn is returning from a conference in Las Vegas, where she made the most humiliating, and impetuous decision of her life. Both Brynn and Dawn were known as the Sensible Sisters. They never did anything irresponsible or crazy. From the airport, Brynn calls Dawn and fills her in on what happened in Las Vegas. When Dawn hears Brynn’s tale of woe, she convinces her to change her ticket and fly to Cape Cod and stay with her family for a few days to recover. Brynn does not have a close family and has spent lots of time with the Dixon family over the years.
With the summer season, upon them, the ice cream store is crazy busy, so Brynn agrees to help Marnie, Dawn’s mother in the store. She also volunteers to help Callie a professional chef who has been called upon at the last minute to cater a huge, elaborate, over-the-top wedding. Brynn loves to bake and has experience making wedding cakes, so she offers to make the cake.
This is a fast-paced, fascinating story with many ups and downs and unexpected situations. Brynn’s party to her most impetuous decision she ever made ends up in Cape Cod too. The run-in is most unexpected. To avoid any other unfortunate encounters, Brynn loses herself in wedding cake batter and experimental cakes until it is perfect. When she finally has to face the consequence of the choice she made, Brynn seeks guidance through prayer.
Once I started reading this delightful, fascinating story, I could not put it down and read it all in one day.

I have really enjoyed The Cape Cod Creamery series and could not wait for this third book in the series to release. It did not disappoint. I enjoyed Love On a Whim by Suzanne Woods Fisher so much that I read it in one day!

Brynn Haywood is normally predictable and quite stable. Then one day she made an impulsive decision to marry a man she hardly knows. The next day she is mortified and flees to Cape Cod to see her best friend, Dawn. Once there, Brynn puts her decision on the back burner and fits right in with the rest of the town and Dawn's family as they work together to help Lincoln's daughter to get married. Dawn's Mom, Marnie, and Lincoln are good friends--and maybe a little more. Lincoln has also helped out many people in town so they want to help him out. Readers also get an update of Dawn and Kevin from the first book and Callie and Bruno from the second book. However, the author writes this book so that it could also stand alone--Still, I would encourage you to read the other two books first to get the most enjoyment out of Love on a Whim.

I enjoyed Love on a Whim and, as I already shared, I could not put it down once I started it. Fisher has created a community of characters that I have come to know and love. I like how Fisher focuses on various relationships. All of the characters seem like real people to me as they have strengths and weaknesses and we readers love them all. Many of the characters also seem to be learning and growing--as I think most of us do in real life. I also like the way Fisher incorporates faith into her stories--it seems to flow naturally within the story. There is a bit of a mystery to the romance in Love On a Whim and I didn't figure it out until I was to that part of the plot. I enjoy Cape Cod and the people so much that I hope Fisher comes back with at least a Christmas novella to keep us in the loop with these special townspeople. While I had a hard time putting the book down, I also didn't want it to end.

A heartwarming story with faith and romance. The third book in the Cape Cod series has some returning characters, and a set of interesting new ones.

"If only love had a recipe."

Well-written as usual, full of insight and subtle humor, this was a quick read. Like an ice cream cone in July, I lapped it up! Loved seeing how Marnie and Lincoln grew in their relationship, which was thoroughly tested here. Some good examples of how unforgiveness can grow into bitterness and affect other relationships. The plot twist was kind of a surprise, but as Marnie points out, it's a miracle--God can do the impossible--and He can bring good out of any situation.

I hope this isn't the last book in the series. It has been very enjoyable and remains one of my all time favorite inspirational romance series. 5 stars!

A sweet ending to a romantic getaway to Cape Cod.

I really liked the characters in this entire series. Seeing how their faith and lives grew through their love of ice cream, and finding love and friendship along the way. I loved the feel of true life problems and not sugar coating the toughness. I will say that Dawn got on my nerves a few times, as she was all up in everybody's business, but I liked the way the story ended. I really loved the chaotic element of the wedding business and seeing a community ge together in a crisis.

*trigger warning: each book in the series deals with illness or illness of a family member.

A double dip of trouble in picturesque Chatham, Massachusetts. Brynn has done an impulsive thing while at a convention in Las Vagas, she met, married and ran away from T. D. DeLima. Her best friend, Dawn, convinces her to visit and think things through.
But Dawn, her mother Marnie Dixon and cousin Callie are caught up in a massive event- the wedding of Lincoln’s daughter. Bankrolled by Lincoln but dictated by his ex-wife, it becomes a fiasco that the Dixon clan and Brynn try to accommodate.
Angst, plot twist, and family drama are only part of the fun. We get to see favorite characters from past books like cowboy Leo. Through the tension, there is conflicting advice by Marnie and Dawn and soul-searching by Brynn.
Although I loved the story, I was hesitant to embrace the *follow your heart* thread. And I think the faith message could have been a little stronger.
What was clear was that communication is imperative, forgiveness is essential, and making your own decisions important. In the end hearts were mended and relationships were restored. A good read all around.

I loved how everyone in the Cape Cod series stopped in the small ocean town for a brief break from life, but ended up on a new God plan for their life.

This book was about mistakes, regrets and how in forgiveness can turn to bitterness.

I loved Brynn and how she had to learn to listen to her own heart and not let others guide her.

I loved Dawn in the other two books in the series, but her tendency to be in control and meddle and try to control the people in her life’s choices and her own life, was at times very frustrating!

I loved the epilogue and how everyone grew in this series. Marnie and Linch and little Leo was my favourite characters throughout the series.

This has been a good contemporary romance series with a wonderful cast of characters and a lot of ice cream.

Love on a Whim is about family and forgiveness. Dawn was wearing on me a bit in this novel, but perhaps that was part of the author's point in showing how she was overbearing.

It's been an enjoyable time on Cape Cod with the Dixon family.

Book 3 in the Cape Cod Creamery series. I love this little series. Full of romance and Christ center material this book has it all. Now this has a instant love trope, but it deals with the repercussions of such a fast romance. The love the 2 main protagonists in the book one bitter another one confused. In general a great romance! I gave this book a 4.5 star and recommend this entire series!!

The first chapter hooked me, what has Brynn got herself into and how is it going to play out. As a romantic at heart I definitely had hopes for a certain outcome. In the height of the summer season the Ice Cream shop and ladies are pretty busy, but through in catering a wedding on top of that some are feeling overwhelmed. Then we have a family member who is suspicious of the Dixon family and impressions aren't good. Dawn's controlling nature really came out in this story and she annoyed me for so much of the book. She felt it was her responsibility to fix Brynn's situation and wasn't really letting Brynn decide what to do. It made sense why Brynn kept things from her. Once again I loved Marnie and how she listened to Brynn and encouraged her to make her own decisions and tried to get Dawn to back off. The mysterious identity of a certain someone felt pretty obvious to me from the beginning and didn't surprise me when it was revealed. While I enjoyed the family interactions and the message of seeking forgiveness and reconciliation I do with there had been more romance included.

It was so good to be back at the Cape Cod Creamery and be reacquainted with Marnie, Dawn, Callie, Lincoln and Leo! Lincoln and Leo are characters that I would love to meet. They are so relatable. It was great to learn more about Brynn and the mystery behind the story.

"Love on a Whim" is a sweet ending full of growth, laughter and family to the beautiful Cape Cod Creamery trilogy by Suzanne Woods Fisher. I cannot recommend this enough to those readers that read the first two books. If you haven't read them, go back and read them before starting this one - they should be read in order and are just so good!
In this book, Brynn comes to the creamery owned by her best friend Dawn and Dawn's mother Marnie after she meets someone and marries him...on a whim within hours of meeting him. 24 hours after the wedding she wakes up thinking she made a huge mistake and ends up flying to Cap Cod to be with friends who are like family to sort everything out.
The author does a great job showing the developing relationships in the first two stories and weaves Brynn's story in to fit perfectly into the story arc. Brynn was mentioned and showed up in the earlier two books so she's a familiar character and one I was happy to get to know a bit better.
If you are a fan of modern Christian romance books pick this one up and get reading.
Thank you to NetGalley and Revell Publishing for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I loved all the ice cream quotes sprinkled at the beginning of each chapter! Definitely made you crave for your own bowl full of your favorite! Despite this being part of a series I did not have any problems following along so I definitely think that this can be a stand alone. This was a different type of trope for a Christian Fiction book. I mean in this one we meet Brynn who marries a guy she meets while in a meeting in Vegas and then in a moment of realization and panic she leaves him without a word.

Right away I knew who the mystery man was which kind of ruined it for me because I like a good mystery but it didn't take away from enjoying the story. Through all that happens Brynn does find who she truly is and what she wants to do with her life. Her best friend Dawn tries to talk he out of this new path but it is to no avail. Honestly I found Dawn to be aggravating and she drove me a bit crazy with her antics. Now, this may be the part where reading the previous book may have been helpful just to know a little more background on the characters that come in throughout this story.

There are other storylines happening while we learn more about Brynn and I absolutely loved reading more about them. The author does a great job at weaving faith and the theme of forgiveness throughout the story. Although I do enjoy her Amish stories I think she does a great job with these contemporary novels. If you are looking for a new series to start, grab some ice cream and grab this one!

Love on a Whim. The third and (final?) book in the Cape Cod Creamery series. Here we get the third gal of the story--Brynn. and wow. One thing about these books--they always start off with a bang! Each of the three books immediately start you with a major problem that the character is thrust into.

Dawn--she was a jilted bride
Callie--she had just dealt with a massive food poisoning event
Marnie--she was diagnosed with cancer and had lost her husband

And Brynn...she gets married in VEGAS on a whim and then runs away! Wowzer!

Honestly I love books that just drop us right into the major conflict issue. LOL. Exciting from the start.
As with the other books, we still get the inner mind of Dawn and Marnie along for the ride with Brynn. Because they aren't done with their stories yet.

and Bear Hayes. Poor Bear Hayes. So much childhood trauma that is shaping his adult life choices. I think that people will totally identify with SOMEONE in this series. Some of the book is predictable (like Bear and TD), but then things morph in new directions. (emotional Dawn!)

So much of the main theme of these books has simply been that when we have faith in God, and truly put him first, than we can TRUST that He IS in control. We can LEAVE it for him. We don't need to take it back just because it may not go the way we think it should. Oh how guilty we as humans are of that. "I changed my mind. I'll take care of it myself"

Highly recommend this series. Plus it has lots of great food in it. LOL.
4.5 stars.

What an awesome conclusion to this trilogy!

Readers are brought back to Cape Cod, to visit with old friends from books one and two. Brynn Haywood, Dawn's best friend, flees to the Creamery after an impulsive marriage to a guy she'd known less than twenty-four hours.

As the story unfolds, memorable characters revisit (such as Nanette and Cowboy Leo) as Brynn finds refuge in helping Marnie at the ice cream shop. Of course, Marnie and Dawn have advice for the impulsive, runaway bride which brings some interesting conflicts. But just when Brynn seems to have found a quiet place to figure out all the whys of her life, Linc's estranged family comes to the Cape to celebrate his daughter's wedding. And...adds more drama.

There's so much to like about this story and Suzanne Woods Fisher keeps the momentum going right from page one. Interesting twists are thrown in significant places, keeping the reader engaged with this light, but faith-filled read. Not all is as it seems!

Characters we've visited in the past are given enough page time for readers to feel that they've "caught up" with the latest news. And some fun new characters add colour, and conflict, to Brynn's story. A mother-of-the-bride-zilla, an angry son and a missing groom make for a fun conclusion to a great trilogy.

I especially loved the epilogue - more loose ends neatly tied up that will leave you smiling at the end.

Love on a Whim has a few unexpected twists and turns. Brynn impulsively marries a man after knowing him for only 24 hours. She wakes up the next morning and realizes she's scared because she's not normally such an impulsive person. She runs to her best friend in Cape Cod and chaos ensues as she gets sucked in to Lincoln's daughter's family wedding. Who really is his son Bear and why is he so mean? As the story goes along, there's healing and mending, as only God can orchestrate.

Love on a Whim by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the third book in the Cape Cod Creamery Series, although it is only the second book that I’ve read in this series, but it was as excellent as The Secret to Happiness (book two).... I still need to read book one, The Sweet Life.

Fisher has a well rounded group of characters. In Love on a Whim we get to know the previous characters even more and are introduced to some new ones. Brynn is a wonderful contrast to Dawn and Callie, and helped to tone down some of how annoying (at least to me) Dawn was at times in this story. If Dawn hadn’t grown a bit in this book, I would have given it one less star… here’s hoping what happens to her by the end of the book makes her mellow out in future books.

With the beautiful location of Cape Cod, the drool worthy occupations (ice cream shop, cooking school, and bakery), and being a fast read with the perfect amount of romance this makes for a great Christian book to take to the beach with you this summer!

This is a wonderful book! I enjoyed visiting Chatham, MA again! The books based here are my favorite of Suzanne Woods Fisher. I spent many summers in Cape Cod, and I love the memories that roll back into my mind!

Brynn is a fantastic character! She's successful, smart, helpful, and willing to learn. Her impulsive marriage to a stranger could have been really bad, but God worked it out for good! Bear/TD is kind of abrasive, but when you find out about his past, everything makes sense. The familiar characters like Marnie, Dawn, Lincoln, Kevin, and Leo brought their usual zanny and complicated selves!

Faith in God is brought up several times. My favorite quote is: "God is like the ocean. Vast and mysterious, calm, and comforting. All together, all at once." This is so true. I liked that Bruno had words of wisdom for Marnie. The community of friends and family all helped each other out.

4.25/5 Sometimes, it's easy to let other people tell you what you should or should not be doing. When that happens, it is easy to lose yourself and know what you really want. Light, fluffy, clean, predictable, encouraging and sweet — that’s what you’ll get with this book! I truly enjoyed this series. This book had a fun twist that I guessed about halfway through. Loved the ending!
