Dave Veerman is the author of more than sixty books, including Tough Parents of Tough Times, When Your Father Dies, and Letting Them Go, and he was a senior editor of the Life Application Study Bible. Dave is co-owner of The Livingstone Corporation, a company that serves Christian publishers by creating, developing, and producing books, Bible, Bible studies, curricula, and other products. He currently presents Understanding Your Teenager seminars across the country. He holds a B.A. from Wheaton College and an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dave and his wife, Gail, have two grown children and reside in Illinois.
I am not much of a devotional reading person. I picked this book of devotionals up and discovered 365 one page devotionals about Jesus, through various stages of His life, death, resurrection and ascension. I liked the wide range of writers across the centuries, some popular in this day.
I liked the sampling of great Christians through the ages, that I otherwise may never have been exposed to. I recommend it.
I am not actually a big fan of devotional books, in that I do not use them as they are intended, in daily use. However, I do think some of them have a lot to offer for specific purposes, and this is one of them. It is great for extra reading during Lent, or when we need a reminder of what was done for us...
