Adventure. That's all Aislinn 'Ash' Brannock wanted in her life. Her dad and two brothers - all cops - got to see it all, but their over-protectiveness made her feel like she had been locked away in a tower with three fire breathing dragons watching her every move. Yes, it was that bad. The only silver lining? Lucas Shade. Her brothers' best friend growing up, and apparently the only man she will ever love because let's face it, none of the others even come close. After an unfortunate mistake lands her back in her father's home, her world is turned upside down and Lucas is there in a tightly wrapped package of serious with a big red bow on top. Life just got interesting, but it comes with a price, one she never wanted to pay.

Detective Lucas Shade never had a real family, but the Brannocks took him in as one of their own and he never took it for granted. Ash was a big reason for why he stuck around, but in order to save himself the beating of a lifetime from her two older brothers, he kept his feelings for her hidden. When the case he has been working on for months takes a turn, Ash could become the leverage the bad guys have been waiting for, but keeping her invisible may destroy everything Lucas has worked so hard for. Good thing Ash is the only person he would give up everything to protect.

For readers 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

I live in Morgan, Utah with my husband, beautiful daughter, and a couple of spoiled pups. If I'm not deeply involved in writing my next book, then I'm probably reading in the safety and quiet of my closet. I love yoga – which I now practice regularly – playing hide and seek with my daughter (only to have my hiding spots revealed by one of the pups), and I love Fruit by the Foot, Twizzlers and Peace Tea. These are great ways to bribe me into revealing secrets about what's to come.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Supernatural, The Walking Dead, and The Big Bang Theory. I also enjoy talking about them, so if you like them, too, come find me.

Writing has become an enormous part of my life and every book I write holds a special place in my heart. If you read one of my books, I hope you have the same experience.

Title:Leverage
Series:The Brannock Siblings #1
Author: Jessica Wilde
Release Date: March 25th, 2014
Rating:3 stars
Cliffhanger:No
HEA:

What I was looking for going into this book was a quick, easy read with a little bit of steam. Nothing too heavy. Did this deliver that? Yes, but somewhere it felt lacking to me. It was decent, but was I jumping up and down over it…probably not. What attracted me was the fact that Ash has two older, overprotective brothers and she’s been in love with their best friend for her whole life. I love stories like this and I wasn’t disappointed on that score. I got exactly what I was expecting. Maybe that was the problem. It was too much what I was expecting. I could’ve done with a little more surprise. The big mystery of the book I pretty much guessed from the very beginning.

Ash has loved Lucas her entire life. He’s been friends with her two brothers since they were kids and she fell in love…and never fell out of it. Not through all the years and distance she put between them to try to get over him and her unrequited feelings. What she doesn’t know is, is that he is equally crazy about her. And she hasn’t a clue.

This is one thing that didn’t sit right with me. After all those years, everyone around her could see how he looked at her and protected her but she was completely blind to everything. And….WHY did he never do anything about his feelings? The explanation for that was kind of dissatisfying. He said himself it wasn’t really her brothers threats and warnings to him to keep away.

I was an asshole and scared.” he pleaded. “I told myself it was because of your brothers, but it was just something I never thought I deserved to feel.”

That wasn't a good enough reason. I wasn't seeing the basis for his refusal to be with the love of his life.

Ash has come back to live in her hometown after a bad breakup and after seeing Lucas again, they both confirm to themselves that their feelings haven't dimmed the slightest. They try to act cool, but before too long, a horrible event pushes their inhibitions aside and they decide not to waste any more time.

Now this is where the steam comes in. There were some parts I enjoyed, but what was lacking was I didn't actually feel anything. I just wasn't feeling their chemistry or professions of deep love.

Lucas is a detective in the same station where her father is captain. An investigation has just gotten personal, someone close to him isn't who they seem and everyone important to him is put at risk. They could be used as leverage against him and he doesn't want to risk Ash while no one is completely past suspicion. Of course, things don't go as planned. No, I wasn't surprised by who the traitor was, but there was a twist that did surprise me at the end. I enjoyed that....but not Ash's reaction to it. I felt like she was a little bit of a pushover and I'm not crazy about that personality trait in a heroine.

To sum it up, this was a decent read, it had some good points to it but the emotion was lacking for me and a couple things didn't add up right. There was nothing overwhelming that bothered me, but it didn't exactly blow my hair back either. I enjoyed Ash's brothers-they were great and very protective of her. I also liked that they both had secret feelings for each other rather than just one of them. It added a little bit more to the story. Good for a light read with no angst.

Loved Lucas and Ash. They were great together. No overdrawn emotional angst just a great love story with a bad guy to take down thrown into the mix. Can't wait to read her brother's stories.

5 Sweet, Romantic, Sexy and Mysterious Stars

Oh my, I LOVED this! What a refreshing "break" on a romance story. This was a truly delightful, sweet and oh so sexy romance too! I LOVED both Ash and Lucas and not to mention the rest of the gang. I can't wait to read about Ash's brothers:) This was a very light, quick sweet read. There was a great mystery/story and I loved that it wasn't just all about sex but oh do you get some really great sex scenes in this story:) Don't get me wrong I do love reading about sex, hehehe, but this was a different read for me in that there was much more than just the physical part of the story with this couple and I loved very second of it!!!! Congrats to Jessica Wilde on a great story!!!!!

A 28 year old virgin because of her brothers's over protectiveness? Umm I don't how what that says about her. I'd be more accepting if she said this happened during her HS years or, hell, even her college years but after that? Girl, what have you been doing all these years? Sorry, the story just wasn't for me. I felt she didn't live her life because she was either scared of her brothers or she just let them rule her life. Either way, it wasn't appealing.

*1.5* Wow, this book was bad.
Yes, I am a 28 year old virgin.

Well I guess my brothers did something good for me. They taught me to keep my legs closed until I was absolutely one hundred percent ready to give that part of me to someone. The trail of broken hearts they left behind reinforced my resolve every day. I had no intention of ending up like one of those girls.
You mean, like one of those girls your brothers kept bringing home?

I really loved the father in this story, but that was about it.

My review:
Leverage is a well written book and captured my interest from the very beginning. The plot was very good, with a lot of twists and turns I did not see coming, there was a lot of emotional angst and mystery, a great love story, humorous but touching scenes between the female lead, Ash, who is 27, and has just come home after a bad choice of boyfriends, Lucas, the love of her life, who also happens to be her older brothers' best friend, and her Father who after losing his wife when Ash was very young, has gone out of his way to totally run his daughter's life, getting aid from both her brothers and Lucas as well.
Her whole life growing up she had to listen to all four of these men and did not stand a chance against any of them and. although they watched her like a hawk she knew it was out of love, but was so frustrating that she decided to leave California and go to school back East. Unfortunately after a few years she has to go back home after making a big mistake. All her life Ash wanted to have excitement and be able to do things, but was always held back, and then once she got away she realized how ugly life could be.
This story also centers around a big case that has been going on in the place where they live and all four of the men being cops are all involved in it somewhat. This leaves Ash out of the loop once again, and she feels even worse than before.

After a devastating occurrence, things get totally out of hand and heartbreak and violence occurs. I can't say anything else without giving away the plot, but I love the mixture of love, caring, danger, characters, great sex scenes and betrayal that brings this story to an interesting end, leaving us without the dreaded cliffhanger, but yet setting us up for the next book which will contain some of the same characters and introduce us to new ones.

Do yourself a favor and read this first book, you will be glad you did! I gave this book 5***** stars and can't wait for the next one to come out!

I must admit I first started reading this book because… I don’t know. The blurb made me think the story was a little too ordinary, but for some reason I decided to give it a try. I’m really glad I did it!

Everything that Aislinn (it’s pronounced ASH-linn) has ever wanted was freedom. Not that she was captive or anything, but because her dad and her two brothers were cops and they made it a little bit difficult for any boy to get close to her. Oh, and the guy she is love with is also a cop… Actually, a detective that works for her father. She has been in love with him for as long as she can remember and till this day it’s not easy to be around him.
He has been my brothers’ best friend since the time they all said their first swear word [...]. He has been the kid who always came over for dinner and slept on the couch […]. He has been the one guy, I knew with every fiber of my being, I was in love with. Completely. Irrevocably. Miserably.

Lucas is the youngest detective in his precinct. He’s proud of everything he has accomplished. Well, everything but sending away the only girl he has ever loved. He thought countless times about telling her that, but he had her brothers’ threats to scare him:
“Stay away from her, Luke. Let someone else break her heart so we don’t have to beat the shit out of you”, they always said.

The best way to sum up their relationship is
Lucas and Ash’s dad are working together trying to arrest a big drug lord when a deadly menace arrives just as Ash gets back to town. It becomes Lucas’ duty to solve the case and protect Ash no matter what.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The romance part is a bit cliché, but the story was really well written. The author doesn’t write anything that won’t be useful at some point.
Ash’s relationship with her family is amusing. Even though she’s all grown up, they still treat her like a little girl and she gets pissed about it, which is always funny.
The story is a very intense thriller. There were some unexpected twists and OH MY GOD scenes! I even cried a couple of times.
The author had me hooked till almost 4am because the story was super interesting and I couldn’t put it down. I sure recommend it!
Ah! And I can’t wait for the sequel. It will be with one of her brothers starts right where this story ends! YAY!!! \o/

Jessica Wilde has won me over with her Brannock Siblings series. Ash is a fiery woman who had been in love with Lucas since—forever and who wouldn't. He is hot! However, Ash's brothers stole the show for me. I LOVED them and I can't wait to read their stories!

This book had me laughing, nearly crying and smiling. I would suggest it to all!

This is my first time reading Jessica Wilde and I am impressed and in love !!

At first I fell in love with Ash & Lucas' storyline. I am a sucker for the childhood friend of the big brothers that is untouchable but yet close enough to touch , years and years later they re-connect , will they fall in love or will it pass them by !! I love this kind of love story. Anything involving childhood friends reunited makes me giddy !! Secondly I fell in love with the fact that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. If I was not waiting for Ash & Luke to heat it up I was waiting for this case to be solved !! The who is who drove me crazy. It may have been predictable to some, but the theories I was coming up with LOL I am no detective , thankfully !! Then of course I fell for the 2 over protective brothers and father !! Poor Ash , but you have to admit it was cute and funny as hell to hear all the things they did to prevent her from meeting boys !! The BONUS - the sex was HOT , the feelings were raw and real , I felt I could relate and connect to all the characters in some way at some point in the story.

Ash has moved back home after 7 years of being on her own. She was recently screwed over by a guy and at 28 years old she is coming home to her STILL overprotective father until she can get back on her own feet. Her whole life she wanted to be free to do what she wanted and love who she wanted , but now she is home again and that one boy who held her heart all those years ago is now living close by , maybe too close !! Lucas has been a friend of the family since he was a child. He had a horrible childhood and the Brannocks took him in and cared for him when needed. To this day he is friends with the boys, Con & Gus, and working closely with Captain Liam Brannock as a detective. Right now they are working on a huge case. They have stumbled onto some serious information and threats come in which cause Ash to be locked in the house and babysat by her father and Lucas. Sparks want to fly from both but will the same obstacles that held them back years ago still hold them back now ?? What does Ashs' father think of how Lucas feels ?? What will her brothers think if they have a relationship ?? After one horrible night lives are changed and none of that seems to matter. Ash and Lucas take their relationship to a new level , which is SUPER HOT. Their journey is interrupted by drama in the department , possible leaks in the force and a murder to solve. Who can they trust ?? Will Ash do what she is told ??

I was going crazy trying to figure it out , I kind of had my suspicions but I was still shocked and in a total state of WOW by the time the story was rounding the end !! Thankfully we have an HEA and I am thrilled to read more about this family and get up close and personal with Con !!!!!!!

Leverage was my first book I picked up from Jessica Wilde. What made me pick it up you ask? Well I was in a slump. Out of the hundreds of books on my kindle, I couldn’t decide on one. So I went searching through Amazon; looking for something that piqued my interest. And DUN DUN DUN… That is how I found Leverage. And Dang am I glad this came up as one of my recommendations.

Aislinn “Ash” grew up in a house full of men, her 2 brothers and her dad. What could possibly be good about growing up with 2 over protective brothers?. Well of course the brother’s HOT best friend. Gah what else would be good about growing up with crazy lunatic brothers that watch your every move and scare off all your dates.
Lucas Shade….Hmm where to start with this Hot Piece of Man . Well Lucas Shade is a cop not just a cop but a detective. Even better right! Coming in at 6”3’ with broad shoulders and a scent that just screamed masculinity with deep Blue eyes. *Swoon*. Well I loved Lucas. Lucas was pretty much part of their family since he never had a family. This makes Ash Off limits right! Oh what a Dilemma!!! He is best friends with her brothers and they would kick his$$ if he was to ever touch their younger sister. However we know something more has to happen, like something astonishing, improbable.. Something that is just going to knock our socks off. Ok so enough of explaining a little about the book. Time to get down to what I think. That’s why you are reading my jabbering after all.

Leverage was awesome. Let me describe it some more.. Ok let me say it was a marvelous, unbelievably stunning, heart-stirring, breathtaking read. The plot of the story was very well played out. It had everything we want in a great read with so much ferment, apprehension, and a bunch of twists, turns and unexpected events. I swear I thought I had something figured out. Jumping up in my seat saying “OHH I know who it is” “ O dang I was wrong” “I know this, this is what is going to happen” “Crap wrong again”. Leverage is just such a mesmerizing story that I just could not put down. Jessica did such an extraordinary job at keeping my attention through the whole story and carrying through with everything flawlessly. I was ravenous after finishing Leverage. And for this I just One Clicked Conned. The Brannock Siblings have an extraordinarily story to be told and I can’t wait to read all about Conall and Gus! This is most definitely a high recommended book! Laterz, well until I am done with Conned that is ;)!

What a gem! Leverage was such a great story. It had a little bit of everything – feisty heroine, dreamy alpha male, close knit family, angst, suspense, a little humor and a terrific love story.

So, Ash has grown up surrounded by her father, who is a cop, her very overprotective brothers – Con and Gus and their best friend, Lucas. Being raised in such a male-dominate household caused Ash to be a little more sheltered than most girls her age. Spending her time dreaming of adventure and never being able to achieve it frustrates her beyond words. But she sucks it up and deals with it, because at least she gets to spend her time around her life-long crush, Lucas.

After a terrible 21st birthday where her brothers and Lucas subject her to the ultimate embarrassment, she leaves home to embark on her adventures. Only it’s not all it was cut out to be, and 7 years later, she comes back home. It just so happens that this return trip home was a bit untimely…..

Ash’s dad and Lucas (who by the way is not a hot police detective) are getting too close to closing a case and her family has now be threatened. There is no telling how far the criminals are willing to go to keep from being caught. And well, la di da – who steps up to protect Ash? You got it!! Hot-Shot Lucas!!

This book has so many twists and turns….I kept guessing what was going to happen – and then I would read a little more and change my mind completely. There were definitely a lot of things that I didn’t see coming. The last 1/3 of the book really did keep me on the edge of my seat….I could tell I was getting so close to getting some answers soon and I couldn’t wait. I flipped pages like crazy.

On the cusp of this breaking case, Ash and Lucas ignite a passion that both of them have been holding back from for a long time. When it first happened – I thought it was a little insa-love-ish… but then I had to remind myself that these two have known each other forever, and though we might not get a whole lot of their background, it’s still there. It was a great love story! I love Lucas so much!! He is sexy and sweet but at the same time has such a protective instinct over Ash. I spent page after page swooning over all that was Lucas.

Leverage is a fast-paced, fun read. It was a great book that I would definitely recommend!

4 Stars!!

*I have received a copy for an honest review*
Leverage (The Brannock Siblings Series #1) by Jessica Wilde is about two very stubborn characters named Aislinn (ASH-ling) and Lucas. You also have an over protective Irish father and his two sons trying to put the only female tucked away in a high tower, permanently. There’s some bribing, smooth talking, and lots of threats to do bodily harm to anyone who hurts their little angel. Except now she’s not so little anymore. She’s a grown woman and is really starting to resent how her family has been treating her.

You have Ash who is this awkward and dorky woman that has the worst luck with men. Seriously, it’s quite sad but comical. I sound so cruel but it’s true. The book starts out with Ash having to move back home because of a crappy situation and unfortunately for her, that means she has to start from scratch.

Or is it unfortunate?

Then, there is the man of the hour, Mr. Lucas Shade and all his sexiness. I mean come on; Ash never even had a chance. So, let’s go down the list shall we? Tall-Check. Brooding-Check. Handsome-oh yeah, checking that baby right off.

Mr. Lucas works with Ash’s father as a detective. Ash’s father is the Chief of Police and has taken Lucas under his wing and treats him just as he would his other two sons. It also doesn’t hurt that Lucas also grew up with the Brannock bunch. However, having an in with the family doesn’t mean you get a free pass to the youngest…Ash.

While Ash and Lucas are trying to figure out what they mean to each other, an unexpected situation has occurred and people they love are in danger.

This book has the whole nine yards, love, family, danger, thrill and excitement. Ash’s character had me cracking up from page one. Seriously, her moments of gawking and inner monologue are priceless and her chiding moments are something to giggle about.

“The wink.”

“The famous wink that caused me to never have any girlfriends, they were extremely jealous of me because he only ever winked at me. I always thought it was because he knew I was the only one who could handle the force of that sexy tease and unleashing it on the other girls of the world would lead to the dwindling of mankind because women would never settle for anything less than Lucas.”

I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to start Conned which is the second book in the series.

I came across this book today, read the description and bought it. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. It had hot cops, bad guys, kidnapping, and forever love between two great characters.

Ash is the daughter of a police chief. Both her older brothers are cops too, as well as their best friend Lucas. All of her life Ash has been in love with Lucas. Her brothers, however, would never let any boys near her. Growing up, they ran away any guy who tried to date her and scared them to death. On her twenty-first birthday, she finally tells Lucas how she feels and when her brothers laugh about it and Lucas joins in, she leaves. Seven years later, she's back and Lucas is who she sees the first day back. Her brothers live other places now, and she surprised to find out that Lucas lives several houses down from her dad. All of her old feelings are still there for Lucas and she's not sure how to handle seeing him. Her dad has always known her feelings for Lucas, but he also knew Lucas felt the same way, and that one day, he would be the right man for his daughter.

Her dad Liam and Lucas are working on a major case to catch a criminal dealing in drugs and prostitution. They know it's dangerous and when a threat is made to her dad, they decide to keep it quiet that Ash is home because they know her life would be in danger. Lucas and Liam take shifts watching over her. But something happens. There's someone on the police force leaking information. Her brothers Gus and Conn come home to help. Ash and Lucas are getting closer and closer and Lucas finally tells her how he feels. He won't lose her again, and he'll do whatever he has to keep her safe. But who can he trust when he doesn't know who the leak is in the police force? And how will her brothers feel when they learn about he and Ash? And what happens if someone learns she's in town?

This was a great book. I absolutely adored Lucas! He's so protective and caring and sweet with Ash. And Ash is a great female lead. She's funny and loves Lucas with all her heart. She's not an annoying or childish female lead like we see in so many other books out there. She and Lucas are just perfect together. The brothers are hilarious and I can't wait for their books. This was a wonderful story and I highly recommend you read it.

Romantic Suspense is becoming one of my favorite genres. And Jessica Wilde does it well. This is the first book of hers that I read, and it won’t be the last. It also had some elements of love lost and found, which is another of my faves

.

This is the first book in her series about the Brannock’s. There are three siblings all raised by their police captain father. They are Conall, Fergus and Aislinn (ASH-ling).

This story centers on Ash who has recently returned home to her father’s house after having bad luck with a boyfriend. She is jobless, and wants to look for her own place to stay. On a good note, Conall and Fergus’ friend, Lucas, is still around. Little does he know shes had a HUGE crush on him, and lucky for her he is single. But unlucky for her, because her brothers give her a hard time with any guy- let alone their best friend. She’s has loved Lucas for as long as she can remember. She hoped the feelings would go away after being away for a while, but as soon as she returns its like they strengthen.

Lucas has always been in love with Ash, but knows that her overprotective brothers will pulverize him if he makes a move. When Ash returns home, Lucas wants to keep his distance, but ultimately he can’t. A drug dealer makes threats against Ash'sfather and her family. Ash is in more danger than ever. Keeping it a secret that she is in town- makes it a whole lot harder to do anything. She is under lock and key at her father’s house. Lucas will protect her, if it’s the last thing he does.

This book has some suspense, but Ash and Lucas’ romance is what ties this story together. It was such a well written story too. Easy to read and follow, and made it a joy to read. You kind of knew what was going to happen, but the suspense added to the attraction between Ash and Lucas. I am glad it did. And a CRAZY plot twist happened, I was shocked!

I am excited to see what happens to Conall and Fergus, because I am sure their romances will be intriguing as well.

I did enjoy this book. I hadn’t read anything by Jessica Wilde before so when I received this book free from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for my review, I was excited to find a new author.

This is the first book in Jessica Wilde’s series about the Brannock siblings. There are three siblings all raised by their police captain father. The siblings are Conall, Fergus and Aislinn. This story centers on Aislinn who has recently returned home to her father’s house after having horrible luck with a boyfriend. She is jobless and penniless, but on a positive note the man who has been like a third brother to her and her long time crush is still in the area and he’s single. Aislinn has loved Lucas Shade for as long as she can remember. She hoped the feelings would lessen once she had moved away, but they immediately return as soon as she sees him again.

Lucas Shade has always been in love with Aislinn, but knows that her extremely overprotective brothers will kill him if he makes a move. When Aislinn returns home, Lucas vows to keep his distance. Then a local drug dealer makes threats against Aislinn’s father and her family. With her safety at risk, Lucas finds himself doing what he needs to in order to protect her.

This book has suspenseful moments, but the romance and attraction between Aislinn (Ash) and Lucas sizzles. They have a lot of years of pent-up sexual energy that comes flooding out once they both admit how they feel. I enjoyed more of their relationship than I did the suspense of a drug dealer trying to cause harm to the family. I found the suspense/mystery part to be a bit predictable, but it did cause the two characters to have to spend time with each other which increased their attraction.

I am excited to see what happens to Conall and Fergus because I am sure their romances will be just as good.

Jessica Wilde's "Leverage" is definitely a page turner. It was emotional, suspenseful, and full of love. I was literally so interested that I read it in one sitting.

Aislinn "Ash" Brannock was over-protected growing up with her brothers and Irish, policeman, father. Not long after her mother died from cancer, she felt that she needed to be on her own and she moved to Ohio. It didn't work out as planned. After 7 years of being away, she moves back in with her dad in Oakland, California.

She didn't expect to run into him so soon! Lucas "Luke" Shade, now a detective, was a part of the family growing up. He was Gus and Conall's best friend and Ash's lifelong crush. He knew she liked him but what no one else knew, he had feelings for her, as well.

Luke and Liam (Ash's father) were working on a huge case that took a turn for the worse leaving Luke and the Brannock boys obligated to hide Aislinn from the public's eye. They had to keep her hidden but that was anything but new for Ash. She grew up like this and she learned not to question anything when it came to detective work.

Both Aislinn and Lucas decide that they have to continue to hide their feelings for each other, even after all these years. The case has to be solved and justice needs to be served.

Will Ash finally tell Luke how she feels? Will Luke continue to conceal his love for Ash, to avoid both of her cop brother's wrath? Will she be discovered or will they find the leak at the station?

I highly recommend that you read "Leverage" and find out what happens! Jessica Wilde is a very talented author and did an amazing job writing Ash and Luke's story! One that is sexy, romantic, and full of emotion and mystery. One that will have to dying to know how it will all end. I can't wait to finish the Brannock Series!

Loved seriously loved this suspenseful romance!!!!!
There was a bit of everything...
Poor Ash... She was a 28 year old virgin thanks to her over protective brothers and father... But she had been in love with Lucas Shade (what a name!) since she was a little girl... He hurt her feelers and she left for 7 years but now she's back and all those feelers bubble to the surface again...

What a quick little gem this story turned out to be! Ash & Lucas have been in love with each other forever, but because he'd been enfolded into her super-over-protective family (a family of cops, no less), they were kept apart while growing up & for 7 years of adulthood while she was away. When she returns, he's one of the first ppl she sees again, and it's on. And then the danger comes...

What I love about this story is that it doesn't take a long time with the "no, we can't be together because of our families" thing. They each work through that part pretty quickly, and spend the story TOGETHER, working on the outside forces that are hammering at them. And because of that, we really get to feel their relationship, we feel the history & feel like we know them. The author has really done a great job of setting up the series, in letting us get to know the other players through Ash & Lucas's eyes, while not letting those other characters take over what should be and is Ash & Lucas's story. : )

There are some ... interesting,.. editing issues, but the story is done so well that those were just kinda a blip on my editor radar. Heh. Which could be how they made it past the book's editor(s) as well! ; )

And the end of the day, this is a keeper story and I'm looking forward to the next in the series, Conned. : )

The Brannock Siblings Series starts with a bang. In this first book we get Ash and Lucas. Two people who loved each other from childhood but could never act on it due to Ash's overprotective brothers. Lucas is now a hot detective working for Ash's dad, Liam, the Police Chief. I loved Ash because she wasn't a whiny needy girl. She was real. She stepped up when needed and did what she had to do. Lucas will be one that's hard to get over. He's hot, sweet, smart, and really good at his job. I fell in love with him from the first time I got his POV. I love when I get to see in both characters minds and know how they each felt.

The one person that stole the book for me is the dad. William 'Liam' Brannock is amazing. Yeah I'm crushing on an older man. The way he is with Ash and the way he talks melted my heart. The brothers were fun to read about too and I can't wait to see their story in the coming books.

You get a lot of mystery and action while reading. The suspense of what would happen next drove me nuts. I almost cried within the first five chapters and had to force myself not to peak at the ending to ease some of my worries.

Leverage will keep you engrossed and unable to put it down. An awesome beginning to a series that I can't wait to finish

This is the first book of Jessica's that I have read and I can tell you that it's not going to be the last. I loved Lucas, "he stumbled and almost dropped me, but thankfully the bed was right there and he set me down carefully. "The first?" he asked incredulously." I mean he's so protective of Ash even if it's her brothers making her upset, "save it for when you get here, a**hat, so I can be close enough to put my fist to your nose for talking to your sister like that." I mean he's everything I want, "don't look at me like that when your brothers are just down the hall, baby. Otherwise, I'll get my a** kicked for sure with the things that I'm planning on doing to you." And if there's one thing Lucas doesn't like is being interrupted especially when he's with his girl and it's her brothers calling, "he answered the call, but didn't give any type of greeting. "She's here with me and I'll kill you if you even think about taking her from me." He ended the call just as quickly and tossed the phone onto the nightstand." Jessica writes all these characters that you can't help but love and I'm looking forward for the rest of the series.

Ash is the only girl in her family of Alpha badass cops. She has been sheltered and protected her entire life. She craves love and adventure but wasn't expecting to get it by having her world turn on it's axis. Lucas is friends with her brothers and grew up with Ash. She's been in love with him her whole life but he doesn't seem to feel the same way or does he? Did they miss their shot of ever after or does the danger surrounding Ash allow them to express their feelings. Poor Ash has had it tough with two older brothers and a single dad raising her. She's never had a relationship or been allowed to have adventure. I felt bad for the way Ash was treated around her family and wanted to smack some sense into them. Lucas has kept his feelings hidden from Ash for years and now that her life is in danger it might be too late. Jessica Wilde keeps you guessing as to were and who the danger is. Ash is surrounded by the only three men that can be trusted but will it be enough to save her? Plan on a roller coaster ride of adventure and emotional turmoil. Looking forward to reading about the rest of the Bannock Siblings.

4.5 Stars! A very good book. There were a few things that kept it from getting 5 stars for me; 1) I saw the twist coming a mile away, and 2) a few cheesy/predictable moments but for the most part I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters...Lucas = YUM...he can watch over me ANY time!! *giggles* I thought his character was definitely swoon worthy. Strong, silent, tender, reliable, thoughtful, respectful...the list goes on. Seriously.
But aside from how freaking adorable he was with his cupcakes *swoon*, I thought the writing was good too. The story moved well IMO, not repetitive, drug out, or game play between the two, just a mature relationship between two mature people in the middle of a dangerous investigation (ok, that kinda sounds like drama, but it was the good kind IMO lol). I really enjoyed the development between Lucas and Ash, their intimacy wasn't rushed and felt genuine and realistic. I like the story concepts were the h falls in love with her protective brother(s) best friend, and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the brothers characters so I've already moved onto book 2....can't wait to see what will come of it. :)

Lucas would do anything to keep Ash in his life, even if it meant denying his love for her in front of her over-protective brothers and dad. All Ash wants is Lucas. When he laughs her off, she stands up to the men controlling her life and stands on her own. Too bad she ends up falling for the wrong guy who cleans her out financially and emotionally. Ash comes running home, only to find her dad is in deep trouble. Someone is sending him death threats and Lucas is the only one who can help. Too bad he needs to keep away from Ash again to keep her safe.

I LOVED this book by Jessica Wilde! Her characters are believable and the men (all 4 are cops) are HOT!!! They have a great balance of strength, heat and heart. Ash is tender and protected without being a brat. I kept wanting to sneak a look at the end to see who the bad guy was because as much as I thought I knew, I just wasn't sure! This is a wonderful love story with a twist of mystery. I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

*Sigh*
This is the first novel I have read by this author. I have to admit when I started reading and found that it was written in the first person, I thought to myself 'Grrrrr' I really dislike reading novels composed in that fashion. What made it worse was that the author had me hooked within the first few pages. Honestly if the story doesn't reach off the pages and grab me, then I tend to throw it in my DNF file (that's Did Not Finish File, just to be clear) I got so hooked on the story that I couldn't put it down, and the plot was so well structured with it's twists and turns and humour that I quickly forgot it was written in a form I generally despise (The First person - Just refreshing). I think this series has some serious potential and I am more than happy to look past my obvious aversion to reading books written in the first to continue to follow this particular series.

I would highly recommend this first book to lovers of a good suspense novel rolled up in romance served with a dash of humour, and will be looking forward to reading the second one in the series.

I started this book, read two chapters, and then life pulled me away for a couple of days. Anxious to get back to Lucas and Ash, I picked it back up yesterday and proceeded to read the rest of the book in one sitting. I love stomach-flipping romance, and this author delivered. The hero is sweet, loyal, and so so hot, and the heroine is smart, patient, and has more courage and power than she realizes. I love the relationship between Ash and her brothers, who are ridiculously over protective. And the dad, Liam, is a doll. The author writes from alternating perspectives in each chapter while we read along trying to figure out who our villain is and although the action and suspense is done well, it was the long overdue love of Lucas and Ash that stole the show. Lucas had me swooning from the beginning, even though he was just as protective of Ash as the dad and brothers. Ash has lived her life sheltered because of their slightly misguided efforts, but by the end, we know exactly who wears the pants in the family. Well done. Off to read book 2.

Wow! Words cannot describe how in love I am with this book! First of all I love Lucas! He is such a hot character! EEppp you know he's a strong man and is an even strong lover early on in the book. Then there is Ash, she is so funny! She may be bossed around by her dad and two older brothers but she is sassy :) Leverage is full of adventure, love, and mystery. I was hanging on to the edge of my seat waiting to know what would happen next. I stayed up all night so I could finish it because I was hooked from the very first page. Jessica keeps you wanting more and you are never able to put your book down. She has a way that captivates you into her writing and let me say you will be addicted once you read Leverage! I cannot wait for the other books in the series I know they will be just as good :)
