These are good readable commentaries with the sort of pastoral emphasis you'd expect of the author. Ideal for either clergy or lay-people, and especially if you haven't got a lot of time to devote to your study.
I'd just say that they can be a little uneven. For example, many of the write-ups on the psalms are exceptional (see Psalm 23), but a few of the sections on the historical books of the OT are not as strong as they might be - easily remedied by balancing out with something like Keil & Delitzsch.
Warren Wiersbe has a gift For giving a lot of valuable information in just a few words. His commentaries are great at bringing out the context and the circumstances surrounding the text without being too wordy. This is a great tool for any pastor.
