Back to the old Slade!
This book is part of the older Slade where he was not the commander of an elite police command. Here he's after a drug ring he'd been trying to catch but had no luck, yet! Its just after the War ended & he was back with Scotland Yard. Its a great police story, & not a cozy mystery. I don't tink he's part of X2 division yet either because he doesn't have his regular sidekick Sargent Clinton. The book even has a happy ending thanks to Slade! Enjoy!
