To Love A Shifter

Rate this book
Werewolves, immortals with dragons for souls, demon dukes, and a lot more!

Falling in love with a shifter is often a perilous choice, not only to a woman's life but her heart as well. There's something about these shapeshifters and immortal warriors that make you want to risk everything, knowing that when they do fall in love, they do so for eternity.

To Love a Shifter: A Paranormal Romance Boxed Set offers all the supernatural romances you'd want, ranging from sweet and funny Young Adult stories to sizzling-hot adult BBW contemporary romances.

In The Werewolf Prince and I, Misty Wall is your average girl: not too slim, not too pretty, and broke as hell. She's wished for her life not to be too boring, but she gets more than what she's bargained for when her boss, CEO Domenico Moretti proposes a marriage of convenience. Oh, and there's also the little thing about Domenico being a werewolf prince, too.

In A Royal Heartbreak, the love story of Domenico and Misty continues as war looms in the horizon. Will Domenico succeed in convincing his princess he loves her more than his ambitions for his pack and his destiny as the one prince to rule all Lyccans?

In Suit & Fangs, the race of Caros - powerful beings that were what vampires used to be - is introduced, together with Caylie Sonora, an 18-year-old Caro heiress who's bent on one thing: make Luka Georgiades fall in love with her and then break his heart the way he broke hers years ago.

In The Demon Duke & I, photo-blogger Georgina McCartney knew her beautiful arrogant captor Silviu Draghici is crazy when he tells her two things. First: he's a demon. Second: she's destined to be his duchess, and he's not letting her go.

In Evren: Enter the Dragonette, Deli chooses to save herself from certain death by allowing her rescuers to transform her into Evren: immortals with dragons for soul. As she starts her new life with the Chevalier brothers, she finds herself falling more and more for Lucian, who unfortunately only treats her as a sister.

In Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me, back-up dancer Dazzle must find a way to protect her heart. Her bodyguard Varthan, a zombie-slash-Viking-warrior, is bent on seducing her. That wouldn't have been so bad if only he wasn't doing so because he considers it his "duty" to teach her about the art of lovemaking.

Offering more than 1,000 pages of fast-paced paranormal romances that will keep you at the edge of your seat, this boxed set is guaranteed to make you dream about finding a shifter to love as well.

To Love a Shifter Box Set is not your average grouping of Paranormals. Marian Tee gives you Variety with a capital V. :) You not only get werewolves, you get vampires, demons, dragons and zombies.

The Werewolf Prince and I & A Royal Heartbreak are book 1 & 2 of the Moretti Wolves. Domenico Moretti is Alpha of his Pack and a ruthless business man who has no problem using people like tools to get what he needs. Though his lovely, hand picked wife throws everything he ever knew or believed before right out the window. Misty is the perfect match for Domenico, even if he's too stubborn to admit it. Their romance is anything but easy but the cast of characters and drama is so well written you won't be able to put it down; and you'll be thankful Marian included the second book in the series.

Suit and Fangs is about Caros, beautiful elite vampires who, if they're not careful, can turn monstrous. Luka is willing to take that risk and break the heart of the one he loves if that means it would save her. That broken heart changes Caylie and forces her to take drastic measures to enact her revenge. Too bad things don't exactly work out the way she wanted and they're both pushed into a corner where they have to decided and choose to love and risk it all or give it all up. It was a short read but I really enjoyed the world of the Caros and I hope Marian revisits it again so we can get a closer look.

The Demon Duke and I is one of my favorites by far. George is a 20th Century woman who by a twist of fate is now living in an 18th century Demon infested world. Make her the surprise fated mated to Silviu, add a sexy werewolf who can look but can't touch, an evil witch, some spawned from hell Demons and you in for an adventure. George keeps you laughing with her potty mouth and internal dialogue while Silviu turns up the heat and makes you wish for an Incubus of your own. I can't wait for the second book in this series.

Evren: Enter the Dragonette is one of Marians earlier works. You can't help but love Deli, who has to choose between death or become an Evren; which pretty much means she gets a Dragon soul and can do nifty things now. Except she's kind of a dunce. Ok, she's really really dumb...but she owns it and rolls with it and does it in such a way you don't get annoyed with her (too much) and can laugh at all the things that she does or that come out of her mouth. Anyways, she's rescued by two Evren, one of which is so much like her (only smarter) that they could be twins and the other makes her want to naughty things. Between entering a new school, learning to be Evren, trying to save her sister AND make the seriously uptight Lucian fall in love with her the poor girl doesn't have a free moment. A very entertaining read.

Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me. Ok seriously who would have thought zombies and hot would ever go together? BUT OMG Marian made me wish for my very own Zombie or aka Draugar. He was sent by a Goddess to protect his skat (treasure) who happens to be Dazzle. A 12th Century Viking who doesn't believe in love and a woman determined to be the one to change his mind in between surviving goblin attacks. Then their cunning Priestess gives them the world's hardest task in order to be together. I need the next book in this series, like now, I can't wait to find out what happens.

THE WEREWOLF PRINCE AND I
This was the first book that I read by Marian Tee, and to date this series remains my favorite. If you have a weakness for were-males, then Domenico most certainly will fulfull your craving! My. Oh. My. He is one tall, dark and scrumptious piece of were hotness! Misty tended to try my patience at times, although not to the point that I found myself disliking her.

A ROYAL HEARTBREAK
Ahh, the follow up...*sigh*. In this book my love for Domenico was rivaled by my love for Lysander, a ridiculously beautiful fae that will steal your heart. The story of Domenico and Misty has a HEA with room for a follow up for them, in addition to an aluded story for Lysander (which I am anxiously waiting for).

SUIT AND FANGS
In A Royal Heartbeat we met Luca, a Caro warrior that helped save Domenico and Misty from a vampire ambush. This story takes place roughly 2 1/2 years later. Luca is both a politician and a warrior, admired for his brain and skills; but also looked down upon because of his ancestry. He is facing a perplexing and frustrating internal battle that keeps him from the love of his life. A very good continuation.

THE DEMON DUKE AND I
When I first read the blurb for this book I was intrigued. Half demon (succubus), half angel Silviu sounded yummy! I was not disappointed. The heroine George "little miss potty mouth" hinted at humor, and she was humorous. Silvia's blood brothers were also great. There is no angsty cliffhanger, but a 2nd book is inevitable. Really looking forward to that. Oh did I mention the sex? HOT!

EVREN: ENTER THE DRAGONETTE
This is a YA paranormal story about dragon shifters. The heroine is Deli, an uncomplicated girl who suddenly finds herself living a very complicated life. The hero Lucian is stoic and secretive. There is also his brother Dyvian, a loveable metrosexual smartass. I haven't read YA in years, having a preference for something more explicit; but I did find this story entertaining and am looking forward to the next in the series.

AWAKENED: THE ZOMBIE WHO LOVED ME
I admit, while a fan of the paranormal; zombies are not my thing. I also thought, how does one write a zombie that is attractive and desirable? Well, the "zombie" is described as a draugar, an immoral Viking warrior that was created to protect. While not a true zombie in this telling, the drauger can alter their appearance only within how they COULD have appeared within their lifetime. The zombie appearance is how they would look upon catching a rare, disfiguring disease. This is used as an intimidation tactic, along side preternatural speed and strength. Interesting concept. So enter Varthan, gorgeous immortal Viking warrior and Dazzle an 18 year old backup dancer for a pop star. The mythology as previously noted was something out of the ordinary, the romance and eroticism short lived but good; and the storyline presented for future books was unusual. All in all an enjoyable read.

Enjoyed the story lines but....

I didn't Realize when I downloaded these books that it was gonna be soft porn. I enjoyed the story lines but the explicit love making areas of the book I quickly moved away from because that's not what I'm interested in reading.

Story Lines are Good

The plots are great, but for me personally, the sex stuff is too explicit and embarrassing for me to read.

Here is my review for all the stories in the collection individually. This collection also contains an all new paranormal read, Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me.

The Werewolf Prince and I and A Royal Heartbreak

The first book in the series introduces us to Misty and Domenico. I have to say I love Misty and her family. There is a wonderful dynamic between the group. I loved Domenico too. The way he cares for Misty and her family. The only problem I end up having with him is right at the end of the book. I personally would kill him after being embarrassed like Misty is at the end.

Now the second book deals with the reprecusions of Domenico's actions. It also introduces new faerie characters and reacquaints us with characters from the 1st book. The leads had evolved from the 1st novel and you end up falling for them all over again.

I don't want to spoil too much of the story but I couldn't write the review without mentioning the mating ceremony!!! I loved the explanation of what the mating ritual entailed!!! Just the thought of that . . . . . Well read it and you'll understand!

Suit and Fangs

This book is about one of the characters that was briefly encountered in A Werewolf Prince series, the Caro character Luka Georgiades. OMG is the man hot!!

The Caros are a kind of vampire (hard to explain but easiest way is they are the civilised version) who are bought up to show no emotion so it is hard when Caylie tries to exact her revenge over her past perceived slight by Luka, a Caro she viewed as her friend, 3 years previously.

There are is a lot of misunderstanding by both parties in their quest to find a path to their true love and it is nice to have the odd reference to Domenico, Misty and Emilia (Domenico's sister). I won't say much more about the plot as I do not want to spoil any aspect of it for anyone however in my opinion this is her best book so far, its close rival is the book that comes next in this set!!

The Demon Duke and I

This is an entirely new word from other books that she has written and to explain it is complicated. Easiest way I can describe it is that there are cars but they wear an older style dress, still use horse drawn carriages as a mode of transport and there are witches, demons etc.

Georgina or George as she prefers to be know lives with her step-aunt who is intent on getting her hands on George's inheritance. One night she goes off to photograph the Wood of the Wraiths where she meets, and is kidnapped by, Silviu, a half demon/half angel Duke.

Silviu has been searching for his heartkeeper with no luck for years. On returning to his land and people he stumbles across George taking forbidden photographs in his forest. However as he approaches her he realises that this is who is has been searching for. George has a few quirks that has Silviu nicknaming her 'Little Miss Potty Mouth'!!

Needless to say the path of true love doesn't run smoothly with revelations about her aunt causing problems and one of Silviu's friends/followers also falling for her. However all too soon the story ends. Yes it does have an ending but it leaves a lot that can happen for book 2.

One thing I will say is to make sue you have a fan to hand because some of the scenes in this book are seriously hot, and I mean seriously hot!!

EVREN: Enter The Dragonette

When you are in a car accident with the rest of your family and then pulled out and offered the chance to live you take it don't you!! Only issue is that all Deli's family died in that accident and by taking that chance of living she was reborn as an Evren, yup the clue was in the title, a dragon.

Deli gets the lucky card tho in that she was saved by two hunky Evren brothers, Lucian and Dyvian. She falls in love with one of the bothers but knowing that on the best of days she isn't the sharpest person out there she ends up doing some silly things in the course of that love.

Lets just say there is a lot of room for more to happen and I am intrigued to see where this series will go. The wait for book 2 is coming to an end!!

Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me

Well you'd think that the clue to what the male love interest is in this is in the title, to a degree you would be correct apart from what he really is is where the Zombie legends have come from.

Varthan is a Draugar, a Viking warrior turned immortal. He is able to change his appearance but how this works is best read in the book itself, I will only end up confusing you!! He has been sent to guard a treasure, that treasure just happens to be Dazzle, and he wants nothing more than to teach Dazzle the pleasures that can be had, after all it is the Draugar protectors right to take his charges virginity, yup you read that one right!!!

As usual with Marian Tee books there are laughs to be had and the mental pictures that you can create with scenes that occur are all there. The jump at the end of the book to the epilogue happened very quickly but this was building up to book 2, I cannot wait, things are about to get interesting!!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've read the first five titles in the bundle when they were first published, but her newest one, "Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me", had me squealing.

"The Werewolf Prince and I" and its sequel, "A Royal Heartbreak" was the first series I ever read from this author. It was about an Alpha werewolf who was originally using one of his human employees to further his plans both in Were-Politics and Operation Piss Off Father, but the time he spends with her starts to change things. I fell in love with the storyline and flow of the book, and Misty Wall was a fresh breeze from the cynical and cautious women I'd been reading about. It made me love the innocently naive girls who refused to let the world change them. I love that. The sequel was just as compelling, and even better because it was about- well, you'll have to read it.

The third book, "Suit and Fangs" was a spin-off from TWPAI and took on a younger POV for the YA and NA audience. It was just as entertaining and compelling, because it told the story of a girl whose heart was broken, and a man who had to decide between breaking his love's heart, or accepting her love, and killing her because of an unfortunate "no one can have any part of you, only me" kind of break. It was hot, sad, and played like an awesome anime in my head the whole time I read it.

"Evren: Enter The Dragonettres" is one of Marian Tee's youngest and earlier works, and it revolved around a 16-year-old girl who was saved from Death's Gate and turned into an Evren by two brothers: one whom she shares a kinship with, and the other whom she has lost her heart to. Deli is not the brightest of Marian's heroines, but her good heart far overcame those differences. She was also very forgiving, like many of the other heroines, but her guy? I didn't like him that much, and only because of the way he treated her. His plan to keep her out of his normal life made me sad because he didn't have to treat her like that. :( It's a good thing he has Deli, because I think she's the only one who'd put up with his- er, actions. This would be at the bottom of my favorites list, but it's still a five for me because of the drama and storyline. And maybe the dragons X). It wasn't bad, but it didn't leave me with a heart overflowing with love and 'awwww's. I think she could've let him suffer a little longer, but again, he's lucky that he has her.

Now, "Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me" was AMAZING. It's another new story that she made up, but it's a spin-off from the Moretti series, and by Moretti, I mean "The Werewolf Prince and I" series. Varthan is a Draugar, the race that zombie rumors rose from, and he was meant to protect the Goddess's blessed skat, or 'treasures'. His newest assignment is Dazzle White, and when she first meets him, he's a ten-foot body of rotting- but strong -meat. He's foul-smelling, frightening, and most of all, a zombie. But then he reveals that he is Draugar, a shifter of shapes and protector of skats. She thinks she's falling for him, but with his mentions of having 'taught and protected' other skats in his lifetimes and not believing in love, can she really count on him to keep her safe?

This was a great read and I wish it was longer because just when I was falling for their relationship, it ended- and GOSH, that ending! Such a great twist! Dazzle was humorous and it was an enjoyable POV, and I loved that like all of Marian Tee's heroines, she's a firm believer in true love and not giving up on what you want.

I'm so glad that Marian Tee has her own bundles now, and this set was beautifully put together. I recommend this to those who love watching women light up their alphas' worlds. This set is full of hot, steamy sex scenes, humorous moments, heart-wrenching times, and constant motivators to believe in chasing after love- and obtaining it.

The Werewolf Prince and I
Misty was the biggest push over in this and it was just perfect for what Domenico had planned for her. He used her while dragging her along for the ride with precision and little effort. I was wonder what was holding him back because it just didn't seem right. Him falling for her was the best part of the story the ending is perfect for Misty. She may have started off being a push over but in the end she seems to be having the last laugh.

A Royal Heartbreak
Misty really had Domenico going through the ringer in this one. All the mess he went through was more than enough to get her back on his side. The ending has me wanting to read more and see who is really behind the drama. Can't wait to find out.

Suit & Fangs
Caylie was really getting on my nerves with the whining and jealousy. The back and forth was distracting and made the story drag along. It was like the author was trying to make it more interesting but made it annoying. You didn't really get a feel for Luka, he came off as just being cold and boring. No questions were really answered about Jeff either, his reasoning or how he fit into the story from the start. In the end the story itself was good just not as good as expected.
The Demon Duke & I

This was alright not one of my favorites but I wouldn't mind reading what happens next with them. I'd also read about the others finding their heart keepers.

Evren: Enter the Dragonette
This was good, the age thing was hard to look past seeing how Deli was childish and spoiled. Not one of the best dragon stories because you don't really see them in action and you don't find out answers to anything that takes place really. I guess it's a good setup for another book though. I wouldn't mind reading it just to find out what happens to Davie's.

Awakened: The Zombie Who Loved Me
Short to the point and action packed. I can't really seeing it being a series though because I just was ready for it to be over not in a bad way but nothing was really told on why the goblins were after her or what the treasure really was that she had. You don't get a chance to connect with the characters either so that just makes you want to be done with it.

“To Love a Shifter” by author Marian Tee is one totally hot box set. It includes 6 awesome books that are wicked great. I can honestly say that until reading this box set I only thought of author Marian Tee as a writer who gave me great contemporary romance (especially Greek and Dutch), however I learned she writes great paranormal romance too. The first in the set (The Werewolf Prince and I) is my favorite of the box set, however not the only one. I loved the heat and sexual tension in this book. I am totally hoping for more about this family in the future. I can honestly say that I loved the box set. Author Marian Tee did not disappoint me at all. I loved the whole set and thought it was well worth the price. She had me laughing, crying and yes once again yelling at the characters.

The Werewolf Prince and I (Moretti wolves) = 5 stars
A Royal Heartbreak (Moretti wolves) = 4.5 stars
In Suit & Fangs (Caros) = 5 stars
The Demon Duke & I = 2.5 stars - Georgina's selfishness and potty mouth was too distracting from the story. I do love this author's sense of humor though!
Evren = 3.5 stars - I wanted more from this story and would have liked to know Lucian's point of view.
Awakened = 1 star - just couldn't get into this mini story

The werewolf prince & I, a royal heartbreak, and suit and fangs made this a great bundled ebook set!

It's always difficult rating a box-set, as there are bound to be some stories that you don't like as much as others. Overall this is a big thumbs-up from me. I've previously read most of the books in this set, but took the opportunity to free up a bit of Kindle Cloud space to get them all in one place.

Overall this is bloody good value, so get this set asap.

Loved it! I got this box set on sale for .99 cents so worth that buck. M. Tee brings so much to the characters I felt like I was there with them. A couple of the books already have sequals out and according to the authors blog more are on the way. I can't wait.

The first two books were good, everything after a bit of meh. The constantly shifting time line in Caro's story annoyed me to no end and so did the heroine - spoiled, selfish brat.
