I can’t breathe. I don’t want to breathe. Maybe by accident I’ll suffocate myself and fall back into a place of warmth and happiness, A place where Kyle is there to remind me who I am.
A plot-driven blend of suspense, science fiction, and romance, the second novel of The Prime Way Trilogy, Just Strength, continues the engrossing story of genetically-altered teenagers, Kyle Chase and Cora Kingston, as they race against time to save humankind from extinction.

I thoroughly enjoy this series because it is so eventful and well thought out. While the first one remains my favorite of the trilogy so far, this one does what it is meant to do to set the stage for the finale, which I cannot wait for. If these first two books are any indication of the action that is to come, we are in for a real treat.
I still love Cora and Kyle, but more so Cora for me. She comes off as a real person who is suffering through her emotions and programming, trying to be more but not understanding all. The first half of the book is her recovery, both physically and emotionally. It should her softer side as well as her "weaker" side. We really get to see how human she is. However, when badass Cora resurfaced I don't think I have ever been more excited (I just wish it lasted longer). I hope we see more of her in the coming finale. I didn't feel as connected to Kyle in this book which makes sense as he is someone different because of what he has seen. I still love him, who couldn't?
I did have some minor concerns with the perspective change as the first 70% is told from Cora's perspective and the rest in Kyle's. I wish it was more like the first one with alternating POV's every other chapter. I think it provides a better connection. But it's not a huge detriment to the story.
Overall, George's world building is stunning and character development is amazingly strong. Her dedication to this book and characters is also not something to be overlooked, so be sure to check out the website. Truly an amazing story and I am sad to read the next and final book of the series.
After reading, and loving, Book 1 of the Prime Way Program trilogy, Be The Victor, the author, Caroline George, sent me autographed copies of the first and second books. i was finally able to get to the second novel, after rereading the first to get back into Cora and Kyle's world, and actually enjoyed this sequel better than the original. George's ability to create such credible characters in a dystopian tale, and maintaining a storyline the reader can easily follow, yet still keep the pacing such that the reader cannot tear themselves away, all make her one of my new favorite authors. . P.S. i need the fungal episode!
