SQUEEEE!!!!! I loved this book!!! 5 stars!!

Willing Captive was the perfect blend of sexy, sweet, hilarious and deeply emotional. Both heartbreaking and heartwarming, it made me laugh, cry, and swoon!! It’s a standalone romance with a gorgeous, broody, protective Alpha hero, a sarcastic, no-nonsense, awesome heroine and a fun, action-packed, romantic plot. I highly recommend it for everyone!!

The first thing you should know is that this is not a dark romance. Trust me. I promise. Swear. Cross my heart. This is not a captivity-themed book at all. Think more  along the lines of a "witness protection" type storyline instead. The hero is a genuinely a protector ;)

The story follows Lily who, thanks to her over protective family, has grown up leading a very sheltered life. But when things go south at her dad's work, she suddenly finds herself kidnapped... for her own protection.

The mask he wears is back and looks to be leather too… it looks very steam-punk, and if I'd seen him on the street and not in my room being all creepy and shit, I would ask him where he got it... When another identically dressed, masked man appears, only bigger and taller, I figure I'm screwed. Well, that's that. Goodbye cruel world. Be sure to fuck thyself on the way out.

Blindfolded and whisked away from her family, Lily finds it hard to believe that this was done with her best interest at heart and it takes her a while to accept their claims.

He leans back in his chair and states, “You haven’t been kidnapped, Delilah.”

Eyes wide, I lift my face to look into his and ask, “Who are you?”

Hottie’s lip twitches. “The person who just saved your life, baby.”

What the mother fuck?

But the more she learns about the people who took her, the more she realizes that they're not bad guys and the head honcho, Nox, in particular has quite the soft spot underneath his tough exterior. But still...

I swear this guy must've been conceived though backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural.

Teeheee!!!! :D

Nox was just plain awesome!! Big, badass and broody, he was a natural protector and the despite not being thrilled about his new 'babysitting' job, soon began to warm up to the snarky, sarcastic girl he'd be assigned to protect.

"You're not going to die."

"What makes you so sure?"

His lip tilts at the corner and he says, "There's a reason I'm cocky, princess."

The story is told in alternating POVs so we got both the badass side and and the snark heroine side of everything. I will admit though that there were a few things here and there that didn't fully add up to me if I thought about them too hard but nothing that brought away from my enjoyment of the story and, as you can see from the 5 star rating, nothing that affected my rating either.

Lily's point of view had me in stitches!! I swear, at least one thing on every page either made me smile, laugh out loud, or ungracefully spray tea all over my eReader. Don't judge. You'll do it too ;)

While the first half was an awesome, fun, almost 'lighter' reading experience, the story was also really well balanced out by some deeply emotional developments in the second half of the story that added a lot of heart and was what made my rating jump from a happy 4.5 to a full 5 stars.

The overall pacing was excellent!! The romance was always there but there was no insta-love at all and the banter between Nox and Lily while they were at each other's throats was just downright awesome! And this non-rushed progression this also made it so that by the time they actually started falling for each other, it and really felt believable while keeping a smile on my face.

My eyes flutter open. I try to turn, but it seems this bed has seat belts. Looking down, I see the seat belt is actually a muscular arm winches around my waist… I realize someone is breathing into my neck and wiggling closer to me. Deeper into my butt…

"Is that what I think it is?"

My drooling brain replied, "It's early, we have a hard-on pressed against our ass, and a delicious man in our bed. I'm out." Then it disconnects.

LOL!!

Oh and the sexy-times?? They were scorching!!! Hot, steamy, emotional and left me fanning myself!

The last 20% of the book really just took the story to the next level!! Heartbreaking, emotional, wonderful!! It gave me shivers, I totally squeed right out loud (several times) and even shed a tear or two. I absolutely loved how the ending took it's time and was not at all rushed giving us the time to bask in the happy and soak in every moment of hard earned joy.

"Doesn't matter where you are, baby. I'll come for you… I'll come for you."

Willing Captive had it all -- swoon, laughs, deep emotion, and a beautiful romance!! It was a perfectly paced story that gave me everything I look for in a book. You know when you finish a book and you just know that it was a 5 star read?? That happened here. Total book high! I loved it :)

“His arms cinch around my waist and he buries his face into my neck. He says a muffled, “Don’t wanna let you go.”
My heart swells, I whisper back, “Then don’t.”

If you're looking for a fun, exciting, romantic read that'll bring a smile to your face, having you fanning yourself and even likely make you shed a tear or two, then pick this one up!!

5 stars!

Here's my casting for Nox and Lily:

*** well deserved stars !***

KUDOS to you Belle Aurora because

YOU GOT ME!!!

That's right folks this cover whore was DUPED. I AM one of those readers that judge a book by its cover . I should probably be pissed that I was tricked into reading a romantic comedy but I'm NOT...... no, its not because I'm a nice person, but rather, I was too busy laughing to feel anything other than side pain....... Oh’ and there are moments of danger and sadness as well......yup, I cried.

Now, on to the characters….. Lily is a 22 year old parentally induced homebody . To say her father is overprotective is an understatement. Due to some mysterious circumstance she is kidnapped by 3 of the most likeable kidnappers on the planet ---> it’s all good though as it was to her benefit. Lily is one of the VERY few heroines I actually liked **insert gasp here**. She was bold, honest, loyal and best of all a TOTAL SMART ASS……. She's one bad mamma jama!!

Nox, is the main man in charge. He's good at what he does and loves the pay. He's definitely an ALPHA male but never overly aggressive. As the story progresses his personality changes as does Lily and their relationship builds before your very eyes. There’s a shit load more I could say about these two but that would defeat the purpose of reading the story.----->sorry, mums the word.

The supporting cast in this story are fucking amazing. Boo and Rock better should get their own book . "DID YOU HEAR THAT MISS AURORA"?....... PRETTY PLLLEEEAAAASSSEEEEE!!!!!!

Friends, I give this story Jahy's golf clap seal of approval !!

4.5 Funny Stars!

 photo 1fc4585e-7448-4ea6-8c50-ab5673f38dcd_zps5149af14.jpg

Belle Aurora is one of those authors that knows how to make me laugh. Every book I’ve read of hers has me cracking up! I love a funny book every now and then, but there is something to be said about an author that can make you laugh, make you cry, and make you feel, all in the same book! And thats exactly what this book did for me. Her characters are splendid and her writing is fantastic. This was a really enjoyable read for me!

Lily is a twenty two year old woman who still lives with her parents. Not only that, she works for her dad’s company, isn’t allowed out of the house much and her best friend is her sister. She is extremely sheltered. Her father is overprotective to the extreme, but he has his reasons, as Lily soon finds out. Most of the time, Lily is okay with that. She will just stay up in her room, read and relax. She is used to her life.
Reading is my escape. It makes my brain work, which gives me a short reprieve from my isolated life.

Sound familiar friends? Lily’s father sits her and her sister down one night to explain some recent problems his company has been having. There have been accusations, threats. Things are about to change for her. That very night, she is ‘kidnapped’. Lily tries her best to escape, but nothing seems to work. Her kidnappers quickly explain to her that they are her protecters. Nox is running the operation, along with Rock and Boo. They were hired by her father to keep her safe while all the company drama is going on.

Lily is a quirky and hilarious main character. I just loved her attitude. Then there is Nox. Nox is all kinds of mysterious, sexy and hot. And he can be an asshole at first... Lily’s description of him is pretty spot on.
Standing face to face with a still pissed off Nox, I find myself getting pissed, too. Nox just has that effect on me. I swear this guy must’ve been conceived through back door action. There’s no way being that much of an asshole is natural.

Lily becomes close to Rock and Boo. For the first time ever, she feels she has real friends. Things with Nox are still tense. She is understanding why she is there and why it’s needed, but they constantly but heads. Lily hasn’t been around all that many guys, but there is something about Nox. Although he infuriates her, she can’t help how attracted she is to him.
You know how when a guy and girl really like each other in a book, they talk about a spark between them? With Nox there is no spark. No. He bypassed the spark. When Nox touches me, there’s nothing less than the whistling, shrieking explosions of fireworks. Big ones. The ones they save till the end of the show.

The last thing Nox should be doing is developing feelings for someone he is protecting. He tries to keep his distance from Lily, but he just can’t stay away. As much as she aggravates him and gives him trouble, his feelings continue to grow. She is not his type at all. She’s sweet, innocent, sheltered. But he can’t help the way he feels about her. The feelings are mutual. They are both falling for one another.

 photo 515c260b-7c52-4db8-8eb6-f30b5db0695f_zps86aa4fe6.jpg
“You remember what you said this morning? About it being totally stupid to fall in love with me?"
At that, my eyes open. He adds quietly, "Then you should start calling me a fuckin' moron.”

I loved both Lily and Nox, and I loved them even more together. It made my heart smile. They had the best back and forth banter.
He’s all like ‘C’mon pack your shit’
and I’m all like ‘No, I like it here’
and he’s all ‘Not safe here, Princess’
and I’m all like ‘Sigh. Okay.’

Nox’s job is to keep Lily safe. What happens when the threat is gone? Nox’s job is secret, he is invisible, as are Boo and Rock. A relationship seems impossible. Nox will protect Lily while she needs it, but what happens next for them?

I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful.

Don’t let the cover or the title fool you, this is not a dark read. It’s light hearted, sweet, sarcastic, comical and beautiful. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something like that, you won’t be disappointed! I laughed so much, but I also cried towards the end. The last 30% or so has some seriousness to it. I also would recommend Belle Aurora’s Friend-Zoned series- that series is just as great as this book. Overall, a fantastically funny 4.5 star read!

“That one person everyone looks for. They search and search, and some die trying to find ‘em. And when you finally meet them, something inside of you says “Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for you. And I didn’t even know it.”

Boy, this was all kinds of different from what I expected. I loved Belle Aurora's Friend Zoned series. When I saw this one pop up on her book list, I immediately added...then noticed the cover and name, started to be sad because I do NOT read these dark "romance" books that seem to be all the rage lately. I like some sweet, some devotion, some trust and a forever kind of love. Let me tell you, that is EXACTLY what this author delivered. Belle, I will never doubt you again!
"Don't push me, little girl. You don't wanna see my bad side."
I blink a second before my eyes widen and I lean back from him as I whisper hiss, "This is your good side?"

This one started out really goofy/funny, as well...this seems to be the style for the author, and I love it. I love how this heroine doesn't take herself too seriously...she's just a girl, living her life, however messed up it is. So when she's kidnapped from her home one night and taken to a secret lair (house), she doesn't play the damsel in distress. Nope, she defies the sexy as hell Nox-the-captor any time she can.
"Let's face it, Nox doesn't seem like a giver of fucks."

Even when she figures out that her capture isn't what it seems, she doesn't go all gooey eyed and Stockholm Syndrome over the muscle bound kinda-hottie. The romance is slow building, which I LOVE. Nox and Lily build a BOND, over time and circumstance. I wouldn't call it a friendship, but it's a bond nonetheless.
"That one person everyone looks for. They search and search, and some die trying to fin 'em. And when you finally meet the, something inside of you says "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you. And I didn't even know it."

There were a couple of things that kept this from being five stars for me. The initial kidnapping was unnecessary. Why did they not simply explain things? It added drama and eventually humor, but it was completely loopy. Another point...Lily is CONSTANTLY crying. Oh, my GOSH! This girl...geez. I have to admit that under her circumstances, I'd likely have cried some as well...especially toward the end. But I started eye rolling about the tears, and when I lose that empathy for a character, it's usually hard for an author to pull me back into the story.

Fortunately, that wasn't the case here, because the last 20-30% of this book was very emotional, albeit still overly dramatic. But I loved how the author didn't stop directly after the reunion scene...she kept going and gave us more romance...since the romance was a bit lacking in the first part of the book, I felt this nicely balanced out my need for hearts and flowers.

Before I start to ramble, I'm going to conclude. Nox and Lily were both such fun characters. Nox gave me the impression of a mental eye roll every time he had to deal with Lily. That eye roll started morphing into an interested gleam, which led to some sexually charged albeit micro-moments, which then led to lust-darkened details that were quite simply swoonalicious.

If you go into this expecting a knock you over, deeply disturbing and evocative romance with hidden meanings and heartbreaking moments, then you may not enjoy it to it's potential. I'd suggest you go into this looking for a fun and lighthearted, somewhat unbelievable but completely engaging romance. Leaving my critic at the door, I enjoyed it very much!!!

A couple of my favorite quotes...each is very different from the other, as an example of how this book had some moments on complete opposite ends of the romance spectrum. (I laughed...a LOT. But I also got teary."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Then he walks over to the bed and drops the towel. And there's Nox in all his naked glory. Too bad his back's to me. I'd kill to see the front of that hard body. Stepping into his cotton boxers, he pulls them up and turns around. And there I am, staring at his fabric-covered pee-pee.
"Like what you see?"
Oh fuck!
He just caught me looking at his junk!
Play it cool, Lil.
Shrugging nonchalantly, I ignore my burning cheeks and reply, "Not really. I though you'd be more - more - I don't know. More impressive."
The ass smiles. A huge-ass smile from a huge ass"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The only way past grief is to grieve. It's the high price you pay for a love so sweet."

(Now THAT is profound)

5 I WANT TO BE CAPTURED BY NOX STARS.

"I never realised how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful."

description

Well, well, well I can honestly say I am joining the hype for this book and not holding back one bit. I loved every single word of this addictive page turner. Belle Aurora has some serious writing skills and if I thought I enjoyed her 'friend zoned' series it has nothing on this hilariously scrumptious loved up novel. From beginning to end I was glued to the pages, it felt effortless and definitely wins out in the enjoyment awards. Forgive me if I endlessly gush, here are my 'Willing Captive' book thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Delilah 'Lily' Flynn lives her life in a protective bubble, her Irish born dad ensures that both his daughters are kept safe and that means that they both spend far to much time holed up in daddy's mansion. But things don't always go to plan so when the girls lives are put in danger and the family gets separated a confusing, dramatic story unfolds for the Flynn's ... Who do you trust? How will this tale end and? and what happens when Lily meets Nox, a moody over protective man who she should definitely not be falling for. 'Willing captive' is an hilarious, dramatic and romantic novel of finding love in the strangest of places

description

What did I love?
This book captures everything that I love about escaping into the written word. Bella Aurora books are confidently hilarious, heart stopping and outrageously sweet. 'Willing Captive' is the most enjoyable and entertaining book I've read all year, the one liners and dialogue are refreshingly funny and there is a honest to goodness realism to the characters dialogues that make you feel like the characters could be your next best friend. There is no unnecessary drama, just a completely refreshing storyline that has my heart squeezing and kept a smile on my face through out. The characters in this story are endlessly brilliant from the hero and heroine right up to the surrounding characters, I'm hoping to see some spin off's created in the future. Nox is the best kind of hero; moody, aloof and deliciously rugged this manly man screams of alpha male but underneath the tough exteria is a sweet and sexy man who is desperate to love and be loved, I swooned and fell in love with this protective alpha and was happy to see the author develop his character nicely throughout the story. This author hands down creates the best female heroines, I kid you not her female characters are out of the world adorable and Lily without a doubt is a smashing character. She is a bit of a ball breaker with a cute vulnerable side I never stopped laughing at her ridiculous antics and quick wit. Bella Aurora tends to have a similar formula throughout her books, comedy romance spiced up with drama and added heartfelt emotions, I loved 'Willing captive' it was a great read and I know it will certainly not be the last book I grab by this talented author.

Final thoughts ...
For those that appreciate a romantic comedy of sorts you do not want to miss this authors books, not only are they fantastically written but they are sweet, sexy and utterly addictive. Bella aurora is up there with my favourite authors and if you are a fan of contemporary romance I suggest that you do not miss out. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

5 Captive Throwdown Stars ⭐

Willing Captive was top notch! Where I was expecting a dark kidnapping story, it was so not. I was pleasantly surprised with the twists, the slow build romance and a sassy heroine that had me grinning foolishly.

Living a rich but sheltered life, Delilah (Lily) Flynn spends her days with her nose in a book. That would pretty much sum up her existence. But things get a whole lot more riveting when she is kidnapped right from her bedroom. Expecting danger, she receives protection of the most life changing kind…

"I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful."

Nox Taylor is one of the best in his field. So you could imagine how frustrated he is at being tasked with a babysitting gig. Initially rejecting any part of this, he only agrees once the peril on Lily’s life becomes real. And once he realises how painful and beautiful this girl is, he’s pissed.

Holding up my hands in surrender, I concede, "Okay, okay. Sheesh. I’ll wear the freakin’ blindfold. Don’t get your panties in a twist, oh captain, my captain. And don’t call me Delilah."

With little information Lily finds it difficult to comprehend why her life has been threatened and that her family has been split and being held separately. You watch Lily go from wallflower to spitfire while embracing and adjusting to a new life of independence and training. She also finds her interactions between herself and Nox slowly developing into more.

Biting my lip to stop myself from laughing, his eyes darken as he strides over to me, trapping me between the door and his chest.

He mutters, "Maybe you want that. Maybe you like the idea of being a captive. Being helpless." Leaning forward, the tip of his nose brushes my earlobe and he whispers, "Does that turn you on, princess?"

Perceived as the bad guy, Nox is anything but. He isn’t happy with the situation and keeping Lily safe is his priority regardless of how ruthless he needs to be. And with time, Lily is understanding that he is not the enemy and is amazing at spooning even if it is platonic.

Never had something so beautiful so close before. As soon as I walked into the bed room, I saw the changes I was dreading.

Lily.

She finally saw the connection. She finally felt the chemistry. And, clearly braver than I am, she finally decided to risk humiliation to find out if what we have is something worth pursuing.

Gah, this book was everything I love about romance. Honestly, I can’t recommend this book enough. This book kept you guessing with an unpredictable ending you don’t see coming. We got a badass hero with a heart of gold, a genuinely likeable heroine and a side cast of characters that provided much needed light. Oh, and let me not forget the laugh out loud moments and passion that ignites. This was fabulous!

I've read this book together with the pretty Allie. :)

I hate to say this but this book now belongs to my DNF shelf. It's hard to go on reading when you're not enjoying it at all. So I stopped. I couldn't connect with the characters and although Belle Aurora's writing has improved here, and there's also humor, it just doesn't work out for me. While I love the male lead Nox, the female mc Lily otherwise annoys the heck out of me. I just kind of don't like her attitude. She's so whiny and all. :( To those who loved this book, I am so sorry. :(

4,5 Captive Stars!

description

Lily is under a threat.
And being the daughter of a father that is as financially healthy as he is protective, her father decides that the best for Lily is to go away, disappear until the threat goes away.
So he simulates her kidnapping, except that her kidnapers are not forcefully taking her, they are transferring her to a safe house where she will stay under their protection until the danger no longer exists.
And then she meets the man that is responsible for her security: Nox.

description

And when you’re closed in a safe house with a sexy-alpha male whose mission is to protect you… well, things heat pretty fast.

description

First things first: Main characters were both pretty damn good. And the heroine didn’t even annoyed me. (How weird is that?!)
Seconds things second: Supportive characters were AWESOME. I wish Rock and Boo had their own book. : (
And finally, what really convinced me with his book was the surprise factor. It was not predictable. Even when the plot twist happened and things got rough (It happens in all the books, don’t pretend this is a spoiler!) it still surprised me.
Nonetheless, it was a pretty good story, with romance and enough steam (and not dark, you may breath in relieve).
Go read it, now ;)

“He never rushed me.
He wouldn't drop me.
He was my shield.
He would protect me.
Against almost anything.”

There are two types of romances. The hot-funny-lighthearted ones and the sucking-the-life-out-of-you ones yes Colleen Hoover I'm looking at you.Willing Captive is both.I signed up for a fun,nothing-particularly-consuming read and instead I got an action-packed,unique,strong love story that clawed its way into my heart and won a place there.
And I loved it.

The story
“Can't help who you fall in love with, princess.”

Lily comes from a rich but overprotective family. As in you-dont-leave-the-house-without-an-escort overprotective. Her monotonous routine gets interrupted when she is kidnapped by people who don't fit the kidnapper profile, because they are nice and gentle to her (well except Nox). She soon finds out that they are hired by her father to protect her against anonymous death threats, and until the person responsible is discovered she has to stay under the same roof with Nox and his team. What started as the worst thing that's ever happened to her turned out to be the best, because she finally makes friends and she finds the love of her life in the handsome face of extremely annoying and gruffy Nox.
“I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful.”

The characters
Lily was far from perfect.Self-centered,full of bullshit, she acted before thinking and never thought of the concequences. But throughout the story she became a grown-up,she fought for what she wanted and she stood by Nox,no matter what.
“There are girls out there you want to fuck, and there are girls out there that you want to love. Not ashamed of you,Lily. You're not for the backround. You deserve center stage.”

I can assure you that alpha-male,bossy Nox is every girl's dream.Yes yes he could be a huge asshole but he was also caring and protective over Lily. And man oh man his chemistry with her was off the charts.

There were also great secondary characters!I loved Boo and Rock, they were so funny and adorable! So many lol and aww scenes, they were good friends and good people despite their jobs and lifestyles.Awesome book gang alert!

The feelings
The first half of Willing Captive was the oh-so-smexy,panties-melting,my-brain-doesn't-function,wipe-your-mouth-you're-drooling kind.

Tension, anger, fights that became seduction attempts, animal attraction and kiss-me-I'm-dying moments. Two lost souls that found a safe haven, someone to stitch their wounds, someone to turn existing into living.
“You know how when a guy and girl really like each other in a book, they talk about a spark between them? With Nox there is no spark. No. He bypassed the spark. When Nox touches me, there’s nothing less than the whistling, shrieking explosions of fireworks. Big ones. The ones they save till the end of the show.”

The second half was the rip-your-heart-from-your-chest,cry-a-riverocean,drown-in-despair,why-was-I-given-a-heart kind.

But it was worth it.

Thank you Alexis and your perfect review that made me read this incredible story! <3

OMG I LOVED THIS!!!!!!!!

“I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful.”

 photo willingcaptivecollage.png

Literally couldn't put this one down. I cannot believe I waited so darn long to read this book! If it hadn't been for all of the awesome reviews my Goodreads friends had posted I probably never would have. That's the power of Goodreads.

Every once in a while you unexpectedly discover a great book, and this is one of those books. Despite the disclaimer saying this is NOT a dark read, I was very hesitant about reading this book based on the title and cover. Captive books usually aren't my thing. This book is in fact a story of finding oneself, and pretty darn funny as well.

 photo Untitled.png

Lily is a sheltered rich girl but her life didn't start out that way. When Lily and her sister were preteens her dad's company experienced a boom in business leaving his filthy rich. With the rise in business, so were the rise in threats to the family. More and more Lily found herself with a good book in her room than out with her friends.

One night intruders break into her family mansion and abduct Lily and her sister. I won't say much more except that not everything is as it seems.

The mystery in this book was very well done. I always felt the undertone of suspense, even when the main characters were more relaxed in their surroundings. The author did a good job of maintaining the "what's going on?" issue because she left the reader in the dark for the most part.

I loved both Lily and Nox so much! Normally I like one main character more than the other, but Belle Aurora did such a wonderful job developing her MC's.

Lily was a great blend of cute and tough. It took her getting kidnapped to realize she wasn't living her life, that she had been spending it locked away. It became her dream to break out of her situation and live free.

"“Books... I can’t live without books. To me, a book is better than any movie. All I need is a good book, my imagination, and I am set free. I’m in literature heaven.”

Nox, he was a badass. He had his sweet moments but for the most part he didn't take anyone's shit. He was a bit of a jerk at the beginning of the book, but his devotion to Lily and her safety were what made him swoon worthy. I also think Nox's issues .

“You remember what you said this morning? About it being totally stupid to fall in love with me?"
At that, my eyes open. He adds quietly, "Then you should start calling me a fuckin' moron.”

This book is humorous, suspenseful and delightful and I encourage anyone and everyone to read it.

“Doesn’t matter where you are, baby. I’ll come for you. I’ll come for you.”

5 Stars (Originally Read 1/20/2014)

4.5 Stars (Re-Read 1/10/2017)

Overall Opinion: I had this on my favorites shelf, and I am definitely going to keep it there! I took it for what it was, a funny romance with a little bit of suspense. Don't go into this expecting a suspense book first with the romance being secondary, because I don't think that's what it is - and I think that's what I enjoy so much about it! The h is awesome. She's a little quirky or even dorky, but I really enjoyed her. The only issue I had with the book (and the reason for my dropping it a half star) is that she cried too much. It was a really emotional time, so I get it! But I just thought it became a little too much for my liking. Other than that -- I fully enjoyed this re-read 🤗

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Lily and Nox's story. Lily has been taken captive by Nox and his team, and she is being held in a safe house. She soon discovers that she is being held captive for her own safety and that there's is someone that wants her dead. Lily and Nox butt heads at first, but eventually they form a friendship that turns into more and they fall in love. There are some suspenseful moments, some sexy times, and some sad moments...and there is a HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between Lily and Nox's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well. There are some time jumps, but I think the author handles them well and addresses the important things that happen during those times (I didn't feel like I was missing anything).

Instalove: No. In the grand scheme of things...yes, things move fast. BUT I wouldn't consider this the typical "instalove" that I struggle with.

H rating: 4 stars. Nox. I liked him. I appreciated how he didn't hide how he felt about the h.

h rating: 4.5 stars. Lily. I loved this h! Her inner dialogue cracks me up! It felt a little dated in that I am a 35 year old woman and I understood all her humor, but I'm not sure all you youngins out there will get all the references (maybe you will 🤷🏻‍♀️). I loved that!! I just wanted her to stop crying all the time...

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed this time -- but I remember really crying the first time I read it.

Push/Pull:Not really -- they both know they want each other and give in.

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: I will keep this vague in hopes of not ruining it, but there is definitely a HEA ending.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

Not as good as I expected.

To be honest, I don’t want to do this book review because I'm not sure what to write. Let's just say there wasn't much going on in this book and there was no earth-shattering plot here. A girl thought she was kidnapped but turned out she was protected by the professionals after her father found out that someone made multiple death threats against her, which she never knew any of these facts. Then she fell in love with her protector. Later something bad happened (but it was way too predictable), and… as you know, yeah, then… happy ending.

The story started off well but dragged a bit in the middle. Most of interesting things happened during the last quarter of the book, but I felt like the story still kept dragging on toward the end.

What worked for me :

1. The supporting characters. They were likeable and sometimes they absolutely stole the show. Perhaps they should get their own spin-off (especially Rock and Boo).

2. The book wasn’t too long and it was easy to read.

3. Some parts were very funny and they had me laughing out loud.

What didn't work for me :

1. The plot. It was one of the most unrealistic plots I’ve ever read.

2. Two main characters. Oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't hate them. I just couldn't connect with Nox’s character, I don't know why but I can tell it really bothered me. Lily got on my nerves at times and I found it somewhat annoying that she often acted so childish and immature though she’s 23 years old already. Honestly, I’m confused by her character. According to the story, she grew up with overprotective father, never once went out without a chaperone, had no friends, stayed home and did nothing but read her books in her bedroom most of the time, BUT she's such a badass and has a smart ass mouth. Wait! What!?? I don't get that. It was unbelievable!

Anyway, what upset me the most about her was that she yelled and ordered her parents to get out of her room. How could she treat her own parents like this? They loved her and were there for her when she was injured and felt so miserable. I should know she’s a total spoiled brat! Gah!

Nevertheless, I didn’t hate this book but didn’t love it either. It was just way too juvenile to my taste. 3 stars is me being generous!

5 Blindfold Me Anytime Stars!

"You haven't been kidnapped, Delilah." Eyes wide, I lift my face to look into his and ask, "Who are you?" Hottie's lip twitches. "The person who just saved your life, baby."

Willing Captive was a perfect blend of hilarious, romantic, heart-breaking, and swoon-worthy all in one! My emotions went through the ringer with this one, for I found myself swooning one minute, then bawling the next. The characters were fantastically written and you fall in love with them all! *cough* Rock *cough* Belle Aurora has just earned herself a spot on my list for now I'm hunting down everything she's ever written.

Willing Captive was the story of a woman named Lily

"I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful." ~Lily

Delilah Flynn aka Lily is my kind of heroine. She's 22 years old, and has a lived a life of extreme loneliness due to her father's protectiveness.

Her only escape is through the hundreds of books the she occupies her time with, escaping into stories and living vicariously through them.

She works for her fathers company but other than that spends the rest of her time at home. She's pretty much a voluntary hermit.

Lily's life is forever changed however, when she is blindfolded and kidnapped to live a life in captivity away from her family. Only problem is, she finds herself falling in love with one of her captors, Nox.

"I hated the life I was living. And you changed me. All for the better. And I thank God for the day I met you." ~Lily

Enter Lily's Captor Nox

"Never had something so beautiful so close before."~Nox

While Lily is in "captivity" she has a love-hate relationship with one of her captors, Nox. Nox is the guy in charge of the operation and he is broody, cold, stoic and looks like a falling angel, not to mention he has ice blue eyes that often show no emotion. He has a job to do and Lily and her feisty attitude are not making it easy for him or his "employees".

"Been hurting a long time. You can't see this type of hurt, though. Broken hearts don't mend easily. And you're not hurting me right now, baby. But even if you were, it would hurt so sweet." ~Nox

As Lily and Nox are forced to spend increasing amounts of time together, an attraction begins to form which soon has both of them unable to deny their deep feelings. I'm not going to go into details about this, for it would be very easy to reveal spoilers.

"This is not a sexy moment, it's a beautiful moment."

"I read somewhere that if you're going through hell, keep going. It's the only way past it. You have to face your pain, your guilt, and your sorrow. But when the strong hands of grief capture you, it is overwhelming, and completely devastating. I fear I'll never get past the stage of hell that I'm in.."

"Can't help who you fall in love with, Princess." ~Nox

When picking this one up, don't let the cover fool you. THIS IS NOT A DARK ROMANCE. It has sadness, grief, and anger but it's mostly a light-hearted romance. I would recommend this novel to everyone for it has a little something in it for everyone. Overall, this was a fantastic read!

"That one person everyone looks for. They search and search, and some die trying to find 'em. And when you finally meet them, something inside of you says, "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you. And I didn't even know it."

Standing face to face with a still pissed off Nox, I find myself getting pissed, too. Nox just has that effect on me. I swear this guy must've been conceived through back door action. There's no way that much of an asshole is natural.

The title and cover of this book scream "dark captive story" but the book itself is all kinds of sweet, funny and Belle Aurora. I love the quirky reads and this book delivered big time! Watching Lily come into her own was wonderful, and watching Nox fall in love with a coming into her own Lily was even better.

I never realized how much I hate my life. Not until he showed me beautiful.

I just dont know why, but this book had me eye rolling at everything. So this is how I arrived at my 2 Stars rating...

#1 eye roll

description

The characters! Well it is understandable why I didn't really like Nox that much, because he had hardly any chapters. Most of the book was in Lilly ' s point of view and may I just to say, boy is she sooo super annoying! She got on my effing nerves. She was always so needy, it just pissed the crap out of me! Her sarcasm WASN'T SARCASM! But yeah I have got to give it to her, she tried right? I didn't get her humor at all, I didnt even twitch my lips, but all the other characters seemed to get her POOR PATHETIC JOKES.. (do they even classify as jokes?). So I just went reading on and on, and when everyone was laughing, I had to go back to read the line again to look for the pun, or humor in it! And lemme just tell u how it was like... LOOKING FOR DIAMONDS IN MY BATHROOM yeah, it was that pointless .

description

Either she was crying or she was trying to be funny.
So when she got EFFING ABDUCTED, she does get scared and stuff, but her main thoughts were dominated by how her abductors looked! I MEAN JUST GIVE THIS WOMAN A NOBEL PRIZE FOR HER SMARTNESS already! Who could be this smart! I mean who cares about escape strategies when ur abductor is well built and hot right?!

#2 eye roll

The plot, was so monotonous. So either they were safe or they acted like they weren't safe! I mean the story moved so slowly, I thought the scientists would even discover a new planet or a civilization before this story ended!
So yes, I am sorry , I know I cheated on eye roll #2, this wasn't and eye roll, cuz I fell asleep right?!

description

I also didn't really get how they just fell in love!
So here I present to you Insta-love 101: One day they are all scowling and avoiding each other and the neXT they were just like "I, I love u like a love song baby, I , I love u like a love song baby..." (what? it's a Selena Gomez song, look it up!) There was absolutely zero chemistry. And that kids is how I met one of your great great granddads. Yup I am dead too.

#3 eye roll

The dialogues, they had no feeling! Well at least I couldn't feel a thing. To me the conversations were like they were speaking to rocks!

description
Even these rocks have conversation skills
What I LOVE about Belle Aurora's writing is the beautiful lines that make me levitate! But this book had nothing. NOTHING! I didn't blush, didn't grin like an idiot and I didnt do my happy dance. I love belle aurora and this was a huge disappointment after beautiful books of hers like Friend-Zoned
I thought the most interesting part of the book was finding out weather Lilly has STOCKHOLM SYNDROME OR IF SHE WAS JUST PLAIN DUMB!
description

So for each eye roll I deducted a star!

Well on the brighter side, this book got much much better in the end! It did have those beautiful elements that make me love belle auroras books! But they weren't enough to change my whole opinion for this books. Poor baby, me!

Another great story from Belle Aurora... I really enjoyed this book. :)

Note: This is not a dark romance story. Maybe book cover looks like that but it's light and fun read. You should give a chance. :)

What a beautiful ride!!!

I still have tears in my eyes...

In the begging was tears of laugh, near to the end become tears of desperation but at the end was pure tears of joy!!!
I didn't expect that this book could be so fabulous!!!

The first part of the book was funny and interesting but in the second part Aurora took it off in another level...
It left me with my heart racing fast and my mouth hanging open and i couldn't breath from anxiety and the pain of loss!!!

Oh, good Lord!!! This story was adorable and breathtaking at the same time...
But let me take the things from the beginning!!!!

Lily was a 22 years old girl who was living an overprotective life... She was so used to this, that didn't bother her very much. Her only friend was her sister... until one day everything changed!!!

She've been kidnapping from some mens and her life just like that was upside down... Lily wasn't the usual girl who will be crying and fear to the death... She was having a different sense of humor and she was absolutely determined to make her captor's life miserable...

And she was making a great effort with that!!!!

Nox felt sorry about accepting this job... That girl droves him crazy!!! She is bubbling all around and she is determined to make his life difficult. He doesn't know what to do with her... She make fun of him, she is defying everything that ask her to do and most of all she doesn't believe him when he is saying her that he is not her captor but her protector...

After lot of effort and some nasty events, Lily started to trust Nox more than anyone else and she also began to develop some different feelings for him...
The thing that i liked very mush in this book was that they started to sleep together every single night without saying a single word about that fact...
And i also liked when they aloud to themselves to live the feelings that was builting inside them from the very first moment...

Their love was pure and big enough to change everything inside them...
And i can't forget that they were having so much fun together...
And the promise Nox made to her was the most wonderfull thing ever....

But near to the end, everything exploded and i couldn't stop the tears from running down my cheeks... And i was in pain for Lily's pain...

Everything changed for once again...
But in the end came the salvation with a strange way...
My heart was breaking for Nox's shake... I didn't like to see him in that way, but i Loved the way that Lily stood beside him!!!!

I also have to say that i really liked Boo and Rock... They were amazing and very lovely people... And her sister! She stood by Lily's side and tried to help her in every possible way!!!
But the most amazing for me was the bond between Lily and Nox...

If you guys, haven't read this story yet, you should read it!!! I totally recommend it to you!!!!

I will miss those people....

Why why why does this author make the majority of her female leads whiny arse immature snivelling little brat bitches. Why?! This one was the twin of the one in friend zoned.
She was a dickhead for the majority of this book. I wanted to throw cement eggs at her through some of this. She pretty much ruined the whole thing. What exactly is sexy about constant whining and woe is me dramatics. Can the person behind the threat come and shoot her already. Jeez.

At points I thought it would have been good is she just got killed and a new heroine came along that was old enough not to need a diaper and dummy anymore. I would have rated it 10 stars then!

Wait, okay so I didn't think the whole thing was shit. I enjoyed parts of it. But it would always come back to Lilly saying something just plain stupid and I'd want to throw this bloody book into a pile of shit were it belonged.

Argh it was just so frustrating. The writing, the story, Nox - none of that was awful, but when you hate the main female lead it makes it hard to enjoy.

Here are some examples -

"The dickhead smirks and I want to knee him in the jingle bells."

"And there I am, staring at his fabric-covered pee-pee."

We're suddenly all 6 years old and giggling because boys have willies
"I freeze because Nox is showering naked. And I can see his pee-pee."

Okay for -
1. Why wouldn't he be showering naked and
2. Again with the fucking pee-pee. Try using that in dirty talk - "Oh yeah baby let me suck that pee-pee. Errr no not your pee, ewww what are you doing. No. Stop. Oh god. Eww. Not the actual pee-pee." Sexy.

Pee-pee doesn't inspire me to think about a big hard dick, it makes me think of tiny willies weeing.

Jeez, I don't know why I bothered carrying on.

Ekkk!!! I'm so in love with Belle Aurora. This is the third book of hers that I love.

Lily is barely existing and stays in the comfort of her own home. That is until she meets her kidnapper, Nox. However, he isn't what she thinks (or even I thought) he is.

I swear this guy must've been conceived through backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural.

Lily was sarcastic and funny. One problem I had with her was she did act much younger than her 22 years.

Man did I swoon over Nox. He was a bit mysterious to begin with but those are the type I love. The relationship that developed between the two of them was nicely done.

You're not for the background...you deserve centre stage

I adore this book so freaking much!! I giggled, I swooned, my heart actually stopped. and it is a COMPLETE standalone.

If your looking for a dark, disturbing and twisted book, I'm afraid this isn't the one. This was funny, entertaining and heart fluttering x

Well this book is.... interesting. Its rom com mix with sweet and cheesy. The characters are wonderful especially Knox. Lily is such dorky and sassy heroine. Even Rock and Boo are just perfect.

Now thats the problem. Everything is just too perfect. And the whole kidnapping thing does not make any sense. The last minute twist about knox disapperance not necessary.

Until the end of the book, i do not underatstand why Lily must be kidnapped.

However i give it 3 stars due to Lily inner dialog. Thats pretty funny.

**3.8 Willing to be Nox's Captive Stars**
Mates, not sure I'm willing to hide my *SPOILERS*
I never realized how much I hate my life.
Not until he showed me beautiful.
description

There was laughter...hysterical laughter, with some giggling on the side. And then, I experienced the tears, heartache and anxiety...all from one book. Willing Captive had a lot going on, for a book that started out so simple.
My name is Delilah Flynn. Everyone, except my dad, calls me Lily. I spend most of my days right here, in my bedroom.
Delilah aka Lily, lives a sheltered and overprotected life. Her days are spent reading, staying in her room, or working at her fathers company. Her father takes 'protective parent' to another level. He only wishes to keep her safe...at all times. But things changes drastically...when Lily is taken captive.
description

An unwilling captive, Lily fights, cries, rants and even attempts to escape...but still has no hope of returning home. She's been taken for her own protection, and must accept the circumstances she's been put in.
Goodbye cruel world. Be sure to fuck thyself on the way out, you mean-assed son of a whore.
But Lily is not so easily fooled or trusting. She challenges her 'captor' at every opportunity. And tests his patience's to no end.
description

Nox Taylor isn't eager to babysit the 'Flynn princess'. A job beneath his skills, but a job that must be done. Even if he gets the urge to be rid of the sarcastic, loud mouth Lily, every step of the way.
You're so fucking annoying that there is nothing more I want to do than to let you go right now...but I can't.
Nox must finish the job and protect Lily at all costs. Even when pushed to the limit of his control, Nox must find the strength and patience to continue.
description

Time goes by, and weeks are spent in a safe house. Lily begins to form friendships with those responsible for her safety....and an un-avoidable attachment and attraction towards Nox...the hard-ass and extremely stubborn hottie.
I swear this guy must've been conceived though backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural.
But...yes, you've guessed it, Nox fights the pull he feels towards Lily, by doing the only thing he can do...avoid her at all costs. But Lily has always held back and hidden away, so she decides to start fighting for what she wants...and that's, Nox.
description

I'll hold back from giving more away, and just say...that's only the beginning of all the shit that happens and what they experiences.
description

Don't open the spoiler, if you haven't read this book.

But...there's always a but, even with expressing my opinion in the spoiler, I would still recommend this read. If I enjoyed it, finished it with a smile on my face...then I'll definatly recommend it to my mates xx

"I trust you, Nox. You won't hurt me. I know it." I whisper, "I trust you."

I am probably going to get rotten food thrown at me, as I see that most people loved this book; but for me there were a lot of things that rubbed me the wrong way! I will say that the last 70% of the story was a lot more action packed and enjoyable, and for that reason I was glad that I stuck with the book and finished. I also enjoyed Nox as a hero, and some of the secondary characters as well.
My biggest issue with this story was the constant inconsistancies with Lily's character. One minute she acted like a young teenager; and then the next she was acting like her proper age of 23. I get that she had lived a sheltered life, however; when she sees Nox for the first time showering and calls his penis a "pee-pee.." I really cringed!
There were a few sex scenes in this book; but it was hard to get in to some of them mainly because Lily for the most part came across as so much younger. Some of the story was a little bit unbelievable to me as well.

I don't like to be all negative though, and there were some definite positive areas in the book. The humor was hands down the highlight for me! There were some great one-liners, and even some LOL moments. I was very glad that I read to the end, and I really enjoyed the epilogue as well. One thing I can't stress hard enough, is the fact that this book is not at all a dark kidnap story. I think part of the reason for my lack of enthusiasum could have to do with the fact that I expected a totally different kind of read. I absolutely thought this would be somewhat darker than it was, even though there is a warning from the author that it isn't a dark read!
I did feel this was more along the lines of a YA book for the majority of the time. That is how the whole vibe felt to me..
So, I will sign off with these thoughts about Willing Captive. They are my opinion only, and I do know that I am the minority when it comes to this story! I didn't hate it; but it most certainly didn't "wow" me! Would I read another Belle Aurora book? Absolutely! In fact, I want to read "Raw" and am hoping that it will be a little darker than this one!!! All in all, I wouldn't steer a person away from giving this one a try; but just more warn the reader of what to expect once they crack this one open.

Thank you to my buddies for reading this with me! Steph, BK, and Kelly♥

9/3/15 - Seems like I have a book obsession. Been thinking about this all yesterday and today! Anyone else have one of these?

3/03/2015-Re-read this last night from 11:00-2:30. A gorgeous novel! You start out laughing so damn hard and then crying your heart out! A beautiful and damn gorgeous read!

I have read so many books that I have just started to review, rate and put them on my read list. This book has never left my mind.

I remember reading this book because my family was asleep and I had stayed up in the dark and would not put it down until I finished this. The chemistry between the two characters is so believable I felt like I was watching a movie.

What I truly loved from this novel was the scene halfway to the ending. When he comes back. Ms Aurora employed the element of realism you don't see much in books these days. I truly loved this book!

It's dark, it's contemporary, it's romance and it's got some action.

If you are a reader in love with these features then this is for you!

5 Keep Me Captive Stars!!

When I first see the cover of this book, I immediately thought it would be a darker book, but in the blurb it says this wasn't a dark romance. Well, okay, I will give a try and see what it's like.

I AM SO GLAD I DID! I LOVED IT!

This book had me

And more

Lily is 22 years old and leads a very sheltered life because of an overprotective father. She lives her life through the books she reads. What she didn't know was that her dad had a very good reason to be overprotective. Her life, what little she had of it, was about to change drastically when she is kidnapped.

Well, that's that. Goodbye cruel world. Be sure to fuck thyself on the way out, you mean-assed son of whore. ~Lily

Did I forget to mention that she has a potty mouth?! Lily was hilarious and I loved her throughout the whole book. After she was taken, she finds herself in a "safe house" with Nox and others who are there to protect her, not harm her. There is a huge library in the house where she is.

"How many books do you think there are?"
"At least ten thousand."
And my ovaries explode.

She doesn't trust Nox.

I swear this guy must've been conceived through backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural.

But, the more time they spend together, the more Nox is intrigued by this sexy, sassy young woman. It is his job to protect her from the threat. He can't afford to let his defenses down because if anything ever happened to her, he didn't think he could go on.

"It would be totally stupid for me to fall in love with you."
"It would be totally stupid. Can't help who you fall in love with, princess."

Now was an ass at first, but I fell in love with him. He and Lily were hilarious together. Though, towards the end, the story takes a more serious turn when Lily realizes that the threat is real and is coming for her.

Can they make it out alive and stay together once all the smoke clears?

Thank you to my Secret Santa who gifted me this book. MUAH!!

***3 Stars***

Looks like I'm in the minority with this one. I liked it, but nothing really wowed me.

Since there are already so many reviews out there, I'll keep this short and just list the things I did and didn't like.

Let's start with the positives:

♥ Lily's relationship with her sister, Terah
♥ Lily's relationship with Boo
♥ Boo and Rock - they get an extra ♥
♥ Boo anytime, anywhere. I absolutely loved her.
♥ The humor - there's no denying that this book has some funny moments and definitely has some great lines (some I will be stealing and incorporating into my real life - Thanks Belle!)

I swear this guy must've been conceived through backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural.

♥ Nox's sweet and swoony side.

"There are girls out there you want to fuck, and there are girls out there that you want to love. You're not for the background." Burying his nose into my hair, he mutters, "You deserve center stage."

What I didn't like:

- Lily most of the time. Unfortunately, during most of this book she was either crying, wailing/screaming, being funny, speaking without thinking, horny, frustrating, or annoying. As you can see, the scale tips more towards the negative.

- The plot. It didn't make much sense. A head scratcher for me. Nothing feels fully explained and hashed out. You were given a half assed reason and expected to just believe it.....TA DA, here's why. That didn't work for me. Too many glossed over or omitted details that are needed to give some meat to the story.

- Nox's history and background. We don't really get much of it. What IS his job? What DOES his team do? Who IS he? How did he get into this line of work? Why bring up his nasty scar if you're not going to say how he got it? No real character development. I didn't feel like I knew him at all.

- The connection between Nox and Lily. I just didn't feel it. Too much was "told" to me, without letting me "feel" anything. I had no vested interest in the two of them as a couple. It all felt forced.

- The writing style. It just didn't gel with me.

This is my first Belle Aurora book and I'm not sure if we're a good fit. Though I'm told I really need to read Friend Zoned, so maybe it's just a matter of the book and not the author.

Disclaimer...
Okay so I read the statement "This is NOT a dark romance about a million times. But then my brain decided to go on vacation and I seriously started thinking, okay... she must mean, this is not a HEA dark romance... then I started the book and it hit me. This is NOT a dark romance, as in not a freaking dark romance. I finally got it! Yay me!

Delilah 'Lily' Flynn hasn't been handed much freedom in her young life. With an overprotective father who doesn't let her wander too far, she hasn't experienced much of life. She's never been kissed, never dated, never fell in love. But all of that is about to change, because as well all know, being kidnapped makes one hell of a first impression.

Nox Taylor is good at what he does. Just what is that job? Protect and eliminate the threat. But Lily is unlike any job he's ever had before. He knows he has to gain her trust but he also knows he can't get to close to her. It's a difficult balance to keep, until he just has no choice in the matter - there's just something about her that has gotten under his skin.

Lily's been separated from her family and she wants answers. Unsure if she can trust what Nox and her other captors, Boo & Rock, tell her is the truth. Nox knows his job isn't an easy one, just one he happens to be good at. But if there is no trust, protecting her will be that much harder. He's got to give a little to prove that he is being honest with her. Her life is in danger, it's just that the threat isn't from the group to took her.

Nox was a complete Alpha, but not that type that is a bit over the top. He is confident and just the right amount of cocky. Spending too much time with Lily has him questioning his ability to do his job, but staying away is just no longer an option.

I don't remember the last time I read a book that had me laughing to the point of tears and then crying like a baby. Lily was such a breath of fresh air, her character was all sorts of snarky and smart ass. Any small trait that normally could cause some involuntary eye rolling just did not exist.

"I swear this guy must've been conceived through some backdoor action. There's no way being that much of an asshole is natural."

This story had so much of a little bit of everything that just made one perfect story. There were moments where Nox was frustrating and sweet, and you craved every second of it. This was my first Belle Aurora read and it was a winner.

There was such a light feel to this story because of the comical banter, but this story wasn't just all laugh out loud moments. We still had a story were Lily was in danger and that all had to be sorted out, that is when the emotional trip to hell begins. I held on, until I couldn't hold on any longer. Once I gave into the emotions and felt all the hurt, finally trading in the laughter for embarrassing sobs, I was pulled slightly back from the ledge. That part of the story for me turned what was happily sitting around a 4 to a 5 star read. I am not sure how she got the timing perfect, but it was perfection.

This story was a great introduction to Belle Aurora's writing and I have a feeling that this will not be the last book of hers that I will be reading or rating 5 stars.

4.5 Stars!

Love Belle Aurora and this one definitely didn't disappoint! She brought her trademark humor, a sexy alpha male, some suspense and intrigue....a few tears and some hot sexy times!

So....this was a lot different then what I was expecting. You look at the cover and you read the blurb, you see kidnapping and you think possibly dark and twisted! Yeah....nope!

This was more of a romantic comedy with a splash of suspense. And it was perfect. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Nox....oh my! Nox was all kinds of yummy!

Lily is a 20-something still living at home with her over-protective parents. She wasn't allowed to go to college, she doesn't date, she works for her dad, she reads. But she's spunky, and fun, and quirky and strong and I loved her.

I don't want to say too much without giving too much of the story away. Bottomline, Lily is "kidnapped"...but it's more for protection then anything else. While being protected she starts to discover what it's like to have friends and relationships with other people, something she's never experienced before. Lily grows close with Nox, who is in charge of protecting her.

I thought Nox and Lily's relationship developed at the perfect pace. It wasn't insta-love or anything like that. There was great sexual tension and chemistry between them. And I liked seeing Lily kind of come out of her shell and explore and experience things.

The banter between all of the characters had me laughing out loud. The threat still lingers, and through all of the humor there were some really intense and exciting moments. The last 20% of the book was really intense. I was scared, I cried, I screamed.....I was all over the place emotionally. And I loved the way everything came together at the end.

I LOVE Belle Aurora....and if you haven't read her other series Friend-Zoned and Love Thy Neighbour...what are you waiting for??? Who doesn't love books with hot alpha men that make you laugh?!?!?!

****4 Romantic Comedy Stars****

I picked this book because of a status update from one of my BBF's on Goodreads - I just saw the word "pee-pee" and couldn't believe how an author could fit that word into a book about kidnapping.

Well, I wasn't disappointed - I was cracking up throughout the book with how naïve and cute Lily was.  She was a feisty little thang!

Lily comes from a very rich family and her life is in danger.  Someone is sending threatening letters to her father's company.  This is where Nox and his crew come in to kidnap Lily from her home and keep her safe.

Nox is ALPHA!! Way, way Alpha and they continue to butt heads which brings in the comedy....but not only is it funny....Belle Aurora incorporates so many other emotions throughout the book.  Even to the point where I teared up.

Author Interview + More - > HERE

4 Captivating Stars

I didn’t read the disclaimer to this book, so just to let everyone know, this isn’t a dark book. Now, that’s out of the way, I want to say Willing Captive is a light-hearted read and my first Belle Aurora book.

Lily is taken from her home. She’s confused and scared. Nox is the one in charge of her and baby-sits Lily. Lily is a stubborn, head-strong girl and makes it hard for Nox to keep her in check. All of this goes on, while Lily’s life is threaten.

First off, there’s not a lot of pre-BS in this book. What do you mean? Lily is taken in chapter one. I like this. Sometimes when I read kidnapping books and there’s a lot of pre-character development I get a little side-track and bored. It’s a pretty fast pace book that keeps you on your toes.

Lily is a strong girl and I’m starting to like these girls. She doesn’t go down without a fight. And Nox, oh man, I like him. He’s a big burly guy and it’s kind of adorable how he interacts with Lily. Oh they have major banter and there’s plenty of push back on both parts.

That one person everyone looks for. They search and search, and some die trying to find ‘em. And when you finally meet them, something inside of you says 'Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for you. And I didn’t even know it.'

I even like the side characters, the people who also guard Lily. I laughed at many of the parts and overall the story was interesting. The read isn’t overly steamy, but there are steamy parts. Lily did frustrate me at times. I think it was her “innocence” I kind of had a problem with. Shocking I know. I usually am all for the sweet girl, but maybe I couldn’t mix a strong and sweet girl at the same time.

Not the entire story is about Lily being held as a captive and I liked that. The book shifts towards the end and it adds so much bam to the story. I was kind of shocked by the change of direction, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t gobble it up.

It’s a light-hearted book with a kind of kidnapping theme and if that is your thing, then Willing Captive is for you. I’m a fan of Belle Aurora and I can’t wait for my next book by her.
