Andre Harris was only trying to get ahead, but desperation, lack of resources and plain ole stupidity landed him in a spot he did not want to be in. Get a firsthand account of how this young kid from the projects—bred in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina—went from a straight A student and top notch basketball player, to a drug overlord. The decline isn't as simple as you think. This steep fall is filled with heartbreak, drama and love.

A tale of triumph and despair told directly from the source. But remember, whether it was the ball court or the streets, HE PUT IN WORK!

I really feel in love with the characters in this book. This book was the ultimate teenage love story and the trail and tribulations of one Andre Harris a.k.a Dre as he goes through teenage father hood it's not easy having two kids by the age of sixteen especially when all you want to focus on is basketball.Dre, Scoop and Trae three best-friends who are always there for each other even when Dre moms passes away they are there for him. After running the streets, partying and trying to get in every girls pants Dre finally decides to get serious be a man finish high school and take care of his kids. He has a bright future a head of him with college coaches on his head but when tragedy strikes and one of his befriends is killed Dre wants revenge but will getting revenge cost him his kids and his bright future in basketball? The story was set in Charleston, SC and the author made sure to give us the southern slang when his characters spoke. The character the I really enjoyed was Monique baby mama number one to Dre's son even at 15 she portrayed to be strong woman which she had to be to deal with all the lies and cheating the Dre put her through but was it worth it will she finally get her man all to herself in the end? To find out that answer you really have to read the book. Good read to cuddle up with on these snowy days....

Puttin In Work was a good read. Andre Harris, a smart kid, great basketball skills headed toward a bright future despite living in the hood, he had a some rough patches growing up and when he tried to help someone in need, ended up getting caught up, which sent him on a rollercoaster ride that he could not get off of. Once he got a taste "that life" there was no going back.
I usually find a character in my reads that have no redeeming qualities but something draws me to them, with Andre I kept going back and forth, I loved him, then I hated him, basically because it was the way he was treating his ride or die Monique. As I was also reading this I thought that this would also make for a good YA novel (sans the graphic sex scenes), It let you see that all that glitters is not gold. I enjoyed Keonna's writing and will definitely be reading her again.

Puttin' In Work is a classic tale of what transpires when you choose to go left instead of taking the right path. Andre's life is thrown into a whirlwind because of the constant bad decisions he chose to make. I love the way Keonna brought us into the world of Andre Harris. I've never been to SC but I got a good dose of the language, setting and the livelihood of what takes place there. Puttin' In Work is a very detailed and informative story. If your looking for a book with a great story line and well developed characters, look no further... Puttin' In Work is that peice! 5 Stars!!

This book tells a story of a young man that wants so much out of life but can't seem to make the best decisions to get them. When you think that life has given him the perfect hand, talent, support and wisdom, the curve balls that he receives knocks him back down. From basketball to the streets, this kid had skillz!!! Only thing that matters is will loyalty be given when it's never received??!! Great read!!!

Puttin' in Work by Keonna F showed that life isn't always the fairy tale u dream about. That in real life there are real struggles. I enjoyed reading about Andre and his story of jus trying to make it in life. He set out to be the man in everything he did. Looking forward to hearing more of his story.

This was an amazing read Dee went through a lot in his life. I really was rooting for him and No because she was the only one besides his mother that had his back. I never liked Natalee tho she was a gold digger and I would never imagine Scoop doing him so dirty.

Great Job!!!

This was a great book from beginning to end. I really enjoy how my hometown was in there and the Carolinas was showing out just like they showed up. The message I got from this book is to NEVER put trust in your some called homeboys or homegirls not even ya ex girl or boy. I would really like to see an Part 2 and 3.
