I loved it!

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is Book Two of the Rise of the Red Claws series. This series had me on the edge of my seat. The author creates a world with fully-formed, vivid characters that you take to heart very easily. Love is found in the most unexpected of places. The twists and turns are unexpected and at times astonishing. Prepare to fall in love with reading again.

A thrilling, unpredictable and emotional saga that weaves vampires, shifters, deception, magic and an ancient prophecy that will determine the fate of humanity. If you love books featuring a strong female protagonist, supernatural thrills, small towns, intrigue and a spellbinding plot, then this will definitely become a new favourite. Experience the magic that has captivated so many readers

Series review

Overall a good series with a few unexpected twists and pretty awesome characters.

I would be remiss if I didn’t say how much I enjoyed the following series when I first read it. Twilight (The Twilight Saga, #1) by Stephenie Meyer New Moon (The Twilight Saga, #2) by Stephenie Meyer Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, #3) by Stephenie Meyer Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, #4) by Stephenie Meyer Midnight Sun (The Twilight Saga, #5) by Stephenie Meyer
While this “Rise of the Red Claws” wasn’t exactly the same as “Twilight” it was very, very similar.

3 Star Series ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this. The story had a great ending, not at all what I thought it would be. The plot was almost wound up, but the last line was the lead in to book three. I’ve downloaded it and will read it, but I need a break from this world for a short while so it can wait a few days while I read other things.

I do rather love Klaus. I pictured him as looking like Klaus from TVD, even though he is described quite differently. His personality seems similar to the other Klaus, though. I’m intrigued to know what’s going on with Nell: clearly she isn’t the one laying waste to entire cities, it doesn’t fit her personality at all. It must be to do with the Red Claws, but how? They were almost wiped out in the battle at the end of book two. It will be fun to find out. I loved that Loris discovered he too could love! It made me question whether it was a plot hole that Christopher could also love… the prophecy definitely said only one vampire would be able to love. What’s happening there? If Christopher betrays Nell, I’ll definitely have an issue with the series altogether.

loving it so far!!

I really love Amara and this is still a great book but I have a small rant - when it comes to research she is the number one person I would want in my corner - but when it comes to battle was she really the best choice out of vampires who have lived centuries and fought in countless wars. Just not that believable-
When I used to be a manager at work I would have people who were hired before me have a real problem with heeding my authority, so I just don't see centuries old vampires listening to a 20-something-year-old librarian. Food for thought is all! Rant over !!

Disappointing and Uninspired

I had high hopes for "Hunt (Rise of the Red Claws)" by Anya Kelner, but unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. The plot felt uninspired and predictable, lacking the depth and originality that one might expect from a story with such a promising premise. The characters were one-dimensional and difficult to connect with, making it hard to become invested in their journeys or struggles.

The pacing was also a major issue, with long stretches of the book dragging on without any significant development or excitement. When the action did pick up, it felt rushed and poorly executed, leaving little room for the tension and suspense that should have been central to the story.

Kelner's writing style, while technically competent, lacked the vivid descriptions and emotional resonance needed to bring the world and its characters to life. The dialogue often felt stilted and unnatural, which further detracted from the overall reading experience.

In the end, "Hunt (Rise of the Red Claws)" felt like a missed opportunity. What could have been a gripping and memorable adventure turned out to be a forgettable read. I can't recommend this book, especially when there are so many other well-crafted novels in the same genre.

Great continuation of this series!

As the romance between Nell and Christopher grows stronger so does the obsession of Zachariah Redclaw. Nell’s sacrifice leaves you reeling but Christopher’s love for her and her friends takes them on an endless search to save her. This is a hard one to put down!

Wow!

This second novel in the series had many twists and turns. I can't say too much because I don't want to accidentally give away any spoilers. The author does a great job of making you care about the characters and I found myself quite attached to various ones. Now I'm off to get book 3.

Plot is good, very YA. But it just feels like a rushed plot. There's so many sub stories of the side characters (which is cool), but it detracts from the flow of the story. Still was a good read and I'll be reading the next.

Decent book. There is an issue with timeline in one section. A finger missing before it was bitten off…other than that it’s pretty good.
