The shadow of war continues to darken Silverland, as one of the major cities falls victim to an evil cult. And a mighty foe arises to challenge Lannon Sunshield and bring about Dremlock Kingdom's doom.
All the while, the threat of Bellis and its mad king grows, leaving the army of Divine Knights weary, uncertain, and stretched thin.
The deception of the Deep Shadow is lurking everywhere, waiting to snare the Divine Shield and the White Flamestone. Not even the High Council of Dremlock is safe from the cunning and evil forces seeking to open the gateway to war.
Robert E. Keller is a fantasy writer and the author of the Knights Series. Previously a short fiction writer with many published stories to his credit, he turned his attention to novels in 2011 and has never looked back.
Robert was born in Northern Michigan and still lives there with his wife Tracy. He had a very active imagination from the time he was old enough to become self aware, and he would invent elaborate fantasy and science fiction stories in his mind. It was only natural for him to begin spending much of his time crafting short stories and novels on the computer screen. Many of the ideas in those tales were discovered on long walks through the woods.
A good ending and fun wrap up with a simplistic style. I enjoyed the adventure more so with these characters in this book on the same level as did I for the Eye of Divinity. It was encouraging to see the growth of the main character throughout the series and hope for further adventures. Perhaps a second edit could be done to this one and the last book.
Otherwise I believe Mr. Keller has given a great story and list of characters. I enjoyed my time with the Knights of Dremlock.
It was good. Lannon came into his own, I thought, through this book. He was a little pathetic in the middle two of the quartet. The writing itself is simple and makes it really easy to get through, which I appreciated, and the characters were realistic. Not everybody was saved, and nobody escaped unscathed. Good book.
I read this one quicker than even the last one. It was veryyyy good. A little different from the rest, but in a good way. I like how it ended, but now I'm certain that the unfair thing that happened in the last book is for real, and that really makes me sad. I can't wait to continue with this series. I hope Lannon is able to advance the eye more.
I love the series that morphed from a coming of age story to one about fighting corruption of the soul. I do wish that Lannon, whilst critical and inquisitive about his enemies would this to his own organization. In some ways, he is still an incredibly naive boy from the woods.
I think there was a lot of character growth and I hope it'll be even applied in the next series.
A great, thrilling plot and dynamic characters make this book a great read. I would have given it a rating of five stars, yet the flawed grammar and lack of development for some of the characters made me feel that it did not deserve such a rating.
