The soldiers are coming for Adrian... and everyone else like him. Safe Haven has grown too powerful to be ignored any longer and the surviving government wants these dangerous Descendants secured for their own use or eliminated. And they couldn't have chosen a better time to reemerge. Safe Haven has a new leader and XO, and a thick wall of fresh challenges to overcome. Adrian's condition is critical, the camp isn't ready to accept the existence of magic, mother nature still has them in her crosshairs, and they are low on food, water, and fuel. The next eight weeks might be the hardest they've worked, and still not be enough to ensure survival. Can they bring the pieces together in time or will this be the end of Safe Haven Refugee Camp?
I really LOVE the premise and story line of this series but she REALLY needs a proof reader and editor. I'm not bothered by a random mistake here and there, but they are so prevalent in this book that it was hard to read. It shouldn't have been available until it was ready. :(
The "Life After War" series is epic. Angela White weaves an interesting, character driven story. I admire her generosity and imagination. However, in this installment the innumerable errors overshadow the story so much so I actually felt embarrassed for the author. With some issues being so blatantly obvious, I wonder if an Editor even read it prior to release. Entire passages are missing or jumbled. Many, many punctuation, grammatical, tense, and spelling errors. This book is definitely not ready for publication, and yet, here we have it. The stories within are well worth the telling, but faithful readers of this series should prepare themselves for moments of complete confusion . . .
After book 5, I was thinking of not reading this series further, but the storyline was too powerful and I had to know if there was a conclusion, if any of these dramas ever ended. Ms. White did not disappoint. She pulled it all together cleverly and evenly. There are still a lot of questions and uncertainty and I'm looking forward to book 7, just to see where the survivors go from here. I recommend this series highly. It's not a light read and often the dialogue is confusing and there are many typos, but the story and characters pull you in...dare I say...with their power!
I really love this story. however, it's very distracting the amount of errors in the story. especially towards the end. having to read and re-read the paragraph over and over and still not make sense really sucks. I kept sayin to my self. is that a complete thought??? where's the rest of it?.. I almost want to read it again just to highlight the errors.
Have enjoyed the series very much, but now am waiting for the next book.... saw online that the author is taking a long break.... AAAahhhh! I can't wait....
It was ok. To much secretiveness I know what Mark feels like always being the last to find out and having to wait and wait for the answer the book could have been much shorter if the author would just spit it all out. There's such a thing as waiting to long for a reveal and even those are unclear as to what is going on. And not sure what is the deal with the errors in grammer. Would think proof readers would get that stuff right off. Bought them on amazon so they should be good. Only reason i am finishing the series is because i bought them all ahead of time since the first book was so good.
Many many typos that often distracted from the story. Angela, Marc, Adrian and the Safe Haven people are continuing their lives. Two huge battles are looming; for leadership of Safe Haven and against The Government. We all know these are there. Who will succeed and who will fall?
I'm loving this series, and I was still thoroughly immersed in the world of the book and loving the characters. My only beef was that the endless inconsolable love triangle just seemed to override the story on this one. Either I was getting a bit jaded, or it seemed a bit same old same old to me in this story. Nevertheless, I can thoroughly recommend it as a great read and part of the continuing saga.
Others have complained about typos and there are a lot. But I honestly didn't let them bother me as I found the whole thing so immersing and involving. I've finished Book 7 already and am having withdrawal symptoms. I couldn't stop reading, so though my enjoyment was a little less than with the previous books, I still think it's a worthwhile investment of time.
A car trip allowed me to finish this next to last book (I think) of this series. Brady is finally giving Adrian a good dose of needed correction. The characters throughout this series have managed to grow or ended up reaping what they have sown. It will be interesting to see what a corrupt remnant of the government will do to the survivors of Safe Haven. It is interesting to see how the moral fiber of some characters take leaps and bounds in the right direction. I look forward to the remaining hook.
I purchased this pre-release from Angela White's web site and so happy I did. This was the absolute best in the series so far. I can not state how much this series means to me. Every book is a great joy to read as every character has become important to the complete story and I love seeing how they change. Looking forward to the next book. Keep up the great writing Angela!
Love the story and cannot wait for the next book. I know this was an unedited book so I can overlook the errors. The writing, like the other books, was still a bit rough with many odd sentences and incomplete thoughts which made it hard to follow at times. I feel like there is so much that happened ,but I don't know why.....things weren't explained or finished. Overall, great story though.
I would love to give Angela a 5 stars but the book needs a better editor. It would then be perfect. The characters are so alive to me and I can picture the things she writes in my mind. I can't wait for book 7.
A good story ruined by the poor editing again. I fought continuing to read this series because it makes me sad that so little care is given to such an important aspect of writing taking the joy from a good story to pure annoyance!
It's great to see the characters developing so much. Everyone has come so far from Book 1. I don't like these soldiers coming after Adrian. Angie makes a great leader and I'm glad so many Eagle's see that. I love that the magic is more accepted now. I can't wait to ready Book #7!!!
As Safe Haven grows so do the possibilities for humanity. Once again Angela White has come up with a story that captivates and mesmerizes the reader. Relationships are definitely becoming redefined as needs change. And the Big Battle still looms.
Books 6 the battle has begun. Marc has has been sent to Little Rock Air Force Base to stop the government from moving on Safeharbor. Adrian is now moving on to Angela Will she be faithful to Marc or will she lose her heart to Adrian. Great read
I love the writing style and the way she draws you into every story line. As usual some parts are a little grim, but the end of society isn't going to be candy canes and lollipops
Other authors could take lessons from her. She is high on list of the greatest authors I have read. I believe what she has wrote will come true. Most people have their head in the sand and will not even consider that can happen to us. Wake up people.
Continuing development of future survival remains interesting. Evolving changes in community structure are occurring in preparation for the war ahead. Partnerships bring strength of purpose and desire to fight for a future of freedom.
Loved this series. I for one am of the same mind as angela white. Crazier things are known to happen. The signs are here people, time to take notice and action.
This would have had at least two more stars if it had better editing. I can understand a typo here and there but the constant incomplete sentences were annoying.
I cannot believe how many mistakes were in this book. Incomplete word, bad syntax, bad grammar etc etc. It was an insult to the reader and was so bad it got in the way of the story being told.
