Stonebrook Shifters: Hidden Mate

This is not a normal shifter it also has witches, which I loved. The fmc runs a lot, but the mmc keeps going after her everytime .

JESSY BECKETT DOES IT AGAIN!!
When I read book one in the series I was convinced that there wouldn’t be anything better, and then came book 2.
Hidden Mate - WOW WOW WOW!!!
This book was filled with anticipation (that almost killed me), love, action, suspense and one hell of a surprise!!
I absolutely adored the MMC and MFC, Trey and Rory. It was so heartwarming to know true love still wins in the end and their private moments made for some very steamy and pleasurable scenes.
The plot was masterfully executed. I was on the edge of my seat more than once. There was never a dull moment.
These wolves and witches really provided some seriously nerve wracking moments!
I didn’t want this book to end but the ending brought promises for so much more and I can not wait!!!
LOVED every second with these amazing characters.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This book had me hooked. The first book was good, but this one was something else! I found myself really attached to these characters and advocating for them at every turn. They had depth, development, and chemistry together.
The spice in this book was so good and there was more of it in this one. Trey is, obviously, extremely sexy, and he's sweet as hell. I love how he knew what he wanted from the start, even though he didn't understand it. Rory was lovable and did everything she could to figure out how they could be together or, if all else failed, how to keep him safe. Her backstory was interesting and I hope we see more about the witches. I'm sure we will because of her cousin.
I love the author's way of portraying shifters. I'm invested in all the characters. I need a book about Conner and I need it now. I definitely recommend this series, whether you're a fan of shifter romances or not. The way this one is done is really great and the writing flows well. You get strong female leads and men that support them without feeling "emasculated" by the powerful women in their lives.

This is one of my favorite shifters series. I love everything about this pack and their dynamic. It has a strong female alpha that leads the pack with strength and love. All the pack members contribute their own unique characters and stories that bring the community together as a whole. The main FMC and MMC in this story were so good and had me unable to put the book down until I saw how their story unfolded. The combination of magic and shifter dynamic is woven together beautifully, and I can not wait to see how the series continues to develop.

i loooooved this story!! it was fun, it was sweet, it was action-packed, it was swoon-worthy, there was less spice than im used to but where it was laid out in the book was adequate. jus perfect for the (not so) new couple trey & rory. let me explain:
🐺FUN: coz the plot was thick, there were twists & turns & reverse & surprises all thru out!! including the ending!!
🐺ACTION-PACKED: the battle scenes were elaborately detailed that u feel urself IN battle with them. there were several times i wanted to battle cry along...i was that pumped!!
🐺SWOON-WORTHY: lots of "aaaww" moments. trey was large & strong, but can hold rory in the gentlest ways. rory is fierce & confident, but can be vulnerable with her mate. & even if ive not read the 1st book, the author clearly conveyed the strength of bonds in each of the other pairs; even the girl squad that had formed around the characters...so sweet
🐺SPICE: a combination of sweet & spicy actually. its full of consent. but the way trey delivered those parts were xtra delicious!! (pls see my fave shmexy lines👇🏽)

This is the second book in the Stonebrook Shifters series by Jessy Beckett. When Trey meets Rory, he is immediately drawn to her. Trey doesn’t understand why he, a wolf shifter, has these feelings for Rory, a witch. Rory cannot believe her eyes when she sees him. He is supposed to be dead. How is he alive? Rory cannot allow herself to get close to Trey, even though every cell in her being wants to. If he found out about their intertwined past and how she was responsible for the tragedy surrounding his family, he would never look at her again. Rory needs to protect Trey, Lu, her friend/Alpha and the pack of Stonebrook shifters from the evil that still seeks to destroy them.
Trey is probably the sweetest, most caring MMC ever. He loves to cook and take care of Rory, even if she is able to do it herself, he shows his love through his actions.
Rory is such a strong FMC. She has endured so much over her life and was let down by those who were supposed to care for her. She gives so much of herself for those she cares for and loves. Rory and Trey are perfect for each other. I loved reading their story 💕.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

While I loved Hidden Alpha, Hidden Mate was so amazing. Trey and Rory are definitely in a will they/won't they situation when the past comes back to haunt Rory.
Since Hidden Alpha ended, Rory has been accepted into Lu's pack. Lu and Rory are best friends and have fallen into a new normal for both of them. Yet, Trey is always around watching Rory. He is drawn to the witch but doesn't know why. Rory always finds ways to avoid him or give him the cold shoulder but he isn't about to let this go.
I honestly will give too much away if I continue but Jessy Beckett has outdone herself with this book! I literally laughed, cried, sighed in relief and was left wanting the next book immediately. Trey and Rory's story has become my favorite that I have read so far this year. The plot is medium paced and the spice is slow to come but once it does 🥵

Witchy woman...I am honestly a part of this pack. I need more. I need to know about everyone. This book gave me severe anxiety just because I became so involved with the characters. I know I was all about Conner from the first one...but now...Please tell me more about Hershal and Seb.....And finally all I have to say is, if she (Jessy) writes it...I will have it.

This was such a great story. Second in the series but was able to be dive into the story without reading book 1. I will be reading the first and the next as I am devoted to getting all of this story. Rory the witch living with the wolf shifter pack. There are some unexpected twist that I won’t tell but I can say it’s worth the read!

I’ve been given a copy of this book as an ARC reader and this is my honest review.
From previous book we know that Rory is a witch and a particular wolf has an interest in her.
In this book we find out terrible truths about why Rory and Trey feel so close to each other and they fight the pull at first. With time and Trey’s persistence, Rory finally lets him in and after an unexpected visit from warlocks and witches, she finally tells everyone what happened in the past and what has to happen.
This book gives you plot twists and has a lot of spice in it.
Trey and Rory’s relationship is sweet, but also full of passion as they can’t keep their hands off each other.
Rory is a badass curvy FMC and she has a sexy and wild MMC Trey fall in love with her! What else could you want?
I’ve really enjoyed this second book and I wish I could read the third book already!

Highly recommend this book and author! I thought the first book (hidden alpha) was good, but it only got better in the second book. The plot twists were top level and kept me guessing the whole time. I have so many questions still but I'm (im)patiently waiting for the third book! I'm so invested in these characters and the world that the author has built.

Hidden Mate is book two of the Stonebrook Shifters series. Jessy was on-point with the world building in book one and it is well-reflected in book two. She did a great job of accomplishing this, delivering an amazing story, and not making the incredibly long. Applause! Tropes include: wolf shifters, witches, fated mates, virgin FMC, touch her and die vibes, and forbidden love. If you’re interested in reading more about my rating scale and why I’m giving this book FIVE STARS and FOUR SPICE, please read on!
When I read, I am interested in the point of view (POV), the plot, and the spice. I prefer dual POV, I don’t want a predictable or bland plot, and I like my books HOT!
This story is told from third person, dual point of view, by the female main character (Rory) and male main character (Trey). Rory is a strong witch with a great no-bs personality, and I love her! Trey is just the man to bring her out of her stubborn shell 😉
The story is fast-paced. Again, Jessy did a great job of setting the scene for Rory and Trey’s story in book one. I was incredibly thankful for the glimpse of each character’s past; it lent a great deal to understanding both of their stories. There was plenty of love and action in this book. It did end on a cliffhanger, but more so to set the scene for the next book! I can’t wait for book three!!!!
I’m giving this a 4/5 on the spice scale. I was leaning towards a three, however, the FMC is a virgin, and the writing and pacing were spot on! Those things mean a lot to me. Keep it real!!

We read about Trey and Rory--two people who have a powerful connection but can't quite figure out why they have a tug towards one another. Trey is a wolf who lost his family and started over with a new pack with a female alpha who brought a witch to keep her safe. Enter Rory; she knows that Trey is her mate but can't understand why, as she is not supposed to mingle with anyone who is not a witch. To confuse matters, Trey feels that Rory is his mate, however, the mating bond is not connecting fully. Only Rory knows the full scope of these matters for her since her cousin shared secrets that she was not supposed to know--now she has to keep them and make sure the pack she works with does not find out. These secrets start to surface, which leads them to the past and into feelings that will change everything. The spice was well matched with two people who share a chemistry that sparked with just a look. Not only did we get a strong female lead who showed a soft side--three women were strong and capable of handling any trouble that landed their way. It is rare to find more than one female who is kicking butt and not needing the male counterpart to take over. The males in this not only protect the loved ones, but they also protect anyone who needs assistance.
This book was a rare gem to find--I could not finish this book fast enough with how many twists and turns come your way. It keeps you wanting to know what happens.

This book was amazing, I loved the first story but the author knocked it out of the park with this one!
Trey & Rory, trey is a shifter with an incredibly tragic past. He’s so sweet, and unbelievably hot!
Rory is a witch with a complicated back story.
The author builds the backstories for each really well, there’s quite a bit in the first book so for me reading the first is almost a must, as it gives a lot of story you’re going to need going into the second.
Trey knows Rory is the one for him and she fights it, she’s got a lot going on with the pack and her past .. Trey is persistent but there’s so much fighting against these two, a crazed warlock from Rory’s past, treys tragic past with his family. It’s a wild ride!
The spice is ALL there! I’d give it 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
It takes a bit to get to the first spicy scene but it’s worth the wait!
It’s incredibly well written, no parts of the story dragged and all the loose ends were tied up by the end.
We get a little more of Lu, their alpha, and see her really growing into her role, and a new couple that I think will be getting their own story in the next book (I hope).
I loved this book, the characters and I’m looking else forward to reading whatever this author feels like writing!

I loved loved loved Hidden Alpha,so i was super excited for Hidden Mate! Trey and Rory are a magnetic couple,they have so much to love about them individually but when they come together it blends perfectly.Trey isn’t letting the fact that he’s a wolf and she’s a witch stop them,it was a moment finding out she was a wolf witch the whole time!
Favorite moment:
“This isn’t fair Rory. My wolf has chosen and there isn’t shit I can do to change it, the least you could do is tell me what the hell this is. Why am I so attached to a witch Rory? We both know that isn’t natural. If you’re doing something to me, you need to fucking stop before I’m too far gone. F***, I might already be,” he said quietly. He could hear the crack of pain in his voice.
As someone who didn’t have para-romance fantasy in their library,I truly loved this book and would recommend it over and over!!

After Hidden Alpha gave that ridiculous cliffhanger, I didn't know where Hidden Mate was going to take me. I'll admit I was taken back by the emotional beginning, but that's also where it hooked me. By chapter 1, I was thrown into a whirlwind of things happening between Rory, FMC/ curvy and strong pack witch, and Trey, MMC/ pack member/ Mr. Right. Rory has a lot of secrets that come to light, but the real question is, will Trey be able to look passed it all for love? Jessy delivered such an amazing story, but that ending once again... Where is book 3?!
I am in love with this series. If you like shifters, witches, love, spice, and twists with of all the emotions, this series is for you. This series is just getting started.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~ put the Milky Way in here, it has less stars than this book deserves!

🐺 An amazing follow up to Hidden Alpha where we get to follow along with our favorite rag tag wolf pack.
🐺 Rory and Trey were just meant to be. No matter who or what was thrown in their way, they found each other again in a beautifully crafted love story full of intriguing characters. And of course we got some spicy spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ that is peppered in throughout the storyline. Trey is adorable and dirty. 🫠🫠 Rory is fierce yet vulnerable 🧙🏼♀️ They make an amazing team.
🐺 There are still so many questions unanswered, in a good way of course. 😜

What a book two! This one follows Trey and Rory’s story as they both remember pieces of their past and grow together as mates and fight the people from their past that want to keep them apart.
There was so much action in this book and I feel like we learned more about side characters in this one too! I loved how hard Trey was willing to fight to be with Rory and when she finally decided to accept their fate how determined she was to make sure no one got in their way. Trey is a dangerous golden retriever and he is caring and loyal to a fault. Not only does he take care of his mate but the rest of his pack too!
I’m excited to read book three to see if we learn more about what’s going on with Lu and Connor. I can’t wait to read Remy and Cora’s story!

I loved book 1 but book 2 - FREAKING AMAZING!! First off... the prologue 😭😭😭 OMG all the feels.
When it starts off that good - YOU KNOW it's just gonna be incredible and Hidden Mate does NOT disappoint. The world building, the connections, the questions I have about what is happening in the Stonebrook Shifters has me begging for more!!
I loved the dynamic between Trey's golden retriever energy and Rory's closed off grumpiness. The history and the connections between Rory and Trey were so good. Their story was an emotional rollercoaster. The sweetness and the patience of Trey but that naughty mouth 😯 I loved Rory's quiet confidence and her incredible strength.
There are not enough stars for me! I cannot wait to see where this series goes!

We head back to the Stonebrook pack but this second book in the series focuses on Luana's little witch Rory and the connection Trey feels to her, his wolf and man in agreement that the blonde belongs in their life. Long buried secrets come to the surface, including just how Rory knows Trey and they begin to see just what fate has in store for them when possibilities no one ever thought possible begin to unravel in front of them. With beautifully written spice,strong female characters fighting against insurmountable odds, the men in their life fighting for them and family being so much more than blood this book definitely goes on my book recommendations list.

If you like a wolf/ human shifters, fated mates, magic, witchy, touch her and ☠️ type of books, this is for you. Loved the chemistry between the characters and the romance, the 🌶️ had a bit of a slow burn but it did not disappoint 🥵. I loved the storyline and the banter between the characters.The story does leave on a cliffhanger but hopefully the next book will follow soon. The only reason I didn’t give it 5⭐️s was because though it’s encouraged to read the first book, it’s not needed, though in my opinion I felt like it should be. So read the first book of series then this one and it will fill in what was missed. Can’t wait for the next book!

Wow, what a fab journey into a new-to-me shifter series this has been. And if shifters aren’t enough fun, witches and magic too? Heck yes. Twists, turns, spice, secrets? This book has them all.
Trey and Rory are captivating and I just loved their story. Rory is a real badass! I love how wonderfully written this was, and it was such a perfectly engaging book from start to finish. I love that the author writes brilliantly strong and capable FMCs being supported by the MMCs without being emasculated.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

I wish we could do half ratings, this is definitely 4.5 stars for me. Hidden Alpha was a 4 star read for me but Hidden Mate was definitely the better of the two. The story was at just the right pace it needed to be, the spice was 🔥, the chemistry between Trey and Rory was 🔥 and boy did Jessy throw a curve ball in near the end when we find out Remy marked TWO females! I must say I am looking forward to future reads now. I need more. I need answers for Lu and Rory, I need to see how Remy and Cora’s story plays out and I’d like to see Conner have his own story as well.
