The Lost Art of Spiritual Disciplines

Rate this book
The true test of consecration is found in the private life of prayer, fasting and Bible study. God can use consecrated people, because consecrated people are those who pray, fast and know His Word. In today's fast paced world we are in desperate need for the church to find her spiritual power, and that power can be found in the spiritual disciplines.

In this manifesto, author N.S. Whitley passionately writes to inspire the modern day church to seek God like never before, and to hunger and thirst for His righteousness.

Clear Path to Spiritual Discipline

Nate Whitley has given his generation, and generations to come a gift. Through what I believe to be the unction of the Holy Spirit, Nate has provided a clear and concise method of Christian Spiritual Discipline. A subject that can tend to be intimidating and honestly a bit scholarly, spiritual discipline is not popular with the NOW Generation. But, Nate has detailed proven and practical methods in the areas of prayer, fasting, and Bible study, and made them easy to implement. This is not all theology and doctrine, it is also a practical guide to help the reader grow in these disciplines. Thank you Nate Whitley for sharing your gift and passion for spiritual growth with us.

Amazing book on a much needed topic!

I believe this book to be the best I've read thusfar this year. It is simultaneously a much needed shot in the arm and a swift kick in the pants to do what Christ has called us to do.

As a Christian, whether you occupy a pulpit or the pew, you owe it to yourself to read this book!

The Christian Life is a disciplined Life

Excellent book all the way through! Spiritual disciplines are VITALLY IMPORTANT to growth in God. Jesus, though He was God in the flesh, didn't operate in His Godhead abilities, but as the son of man under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Even He, as fully anointed as He was; was strongly compelled by the Holy Spirit to discpline His flesh In order to overcome the satanic attack of temptation. He strategically defeated and humiliated satan by the Word of God and presenting His body to God through fasting and prayer. If we as His people do not discipline ourselves, we are in danger of being defeated in this world. God help us to see this truth!
