JUST GET THE BOOK AND READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT IT YET !
I am gonna speak about the short stories... so if you dont wanna know alot watch out ;)
This is the first time to read anything in Arabic. I really liked it, every short story has its own meaning. some of the stories affected me because I lived them in person or had someone close who was living them. The first story"سبق صحفى" says that sometimes we have to do stupid things to live in this society. it also shows that we people ALWAYS misjudge others !. The second story " طابور عيش" is nice, but was covered before in many films and talk shows after the revolution (That the old generation had no courage to address their basic rights). The third story "غرباء" is very very touching, it ripped my heart into pieces... I saw in it love, pain, and sacrifice.. it shows the true meaning of the word "Home" and how is it that a person can travel the world and yet not find peace of mind and heart unless he is at his home. The fourth story "ليس النيل عظيما" highlights the typical Egyptian mentality. I have met alot of people who wanted to go away to purse their dreams, forgetting about their life in here and this story just says that yes you can travel and yes you can make all your dreams come to real but in return you will lose a part of your life that you can't replace or even return back to the past to be in it again. you will lose your family bonds. The fifth story "سعيد" is about a guy who thinks that money makes you happy and throughout the story he tries to convince people that money makes them happy... maybe I didnt get it but I wasnt with saeed, cause money doesnt make you happy, money is a tool that lead to happiness The sixth story "حلم مؤجل" aims at telling the readers to not wait for their mean dreams so long to come true because sometimes life gets so busy that you forget about your main dream and focus on the little ones that mean so little to you and then remember you had a bigger one. The seventh story "رحلة" is a perfect ending because we are all in a journey and no one knows where is his/her final destination simply because we cant answer the question of who we are even though we spend an incredible amount of time thinking about it. There are two sentences in the book that I loved "يبدو ان هناك بعض الناس لا يعترفون بحق غيرهم فى الحياة" " حياتك هنا يا بنى, اما هناك فهو مكان مؤقت فقط" Abdelrhman well done bgd!!I was surprised by your writing.. you are a very good writer and please correct me if I got the meaning of any story wrong Good luck ;)
