Fourteen year old Parrish wanted to become a woman so bad that she followed in her bestfriends footsteps. Who would have thought becoming a grown woman could put your life, safety, health and morals on the line? Parrish fell in love with Terrance a man twice her age, and would do anything to make it work, even giving him her virginity. In the process of becoming the woman her bestfriend trained her to be, she slowly began losing herself. Not only was she struggling with her own life, but she was dealing with both of her friends sudden health problems, her father's rejection and Terrance's lies and infidelity. Stress had become such a big factor that she turned to drugs to cope. Even though she had the support of her mother, it wasn’t enough to keep her happy and her mind off the man she loved. When you fall in love with a grown man, be ready to risk everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.
Stolen Innocence was a very good read. It hit on subjects that happen in everyday America and rarely spoke on. This story hit me hard because I have a 13yr old and sometimes I wonder what be going on in her head. Parish was an average 14yr old who wanted to be grown. She suffered at the hands of a misguided best friend and an older man. Everything that she went through was devastating. She was so young and naïve. The ending had me begging for more. I recommend this book to anyone with teenagers. Good job Diane Metts!!!
This book was an ok read. Everything that happen was so predictable. But also felt like even tho Parrish was only 14 she was just way to clueless. How couldnt she put two and two together. Also I felt confused at times. One minute she didnt have a belly, then two days later her stomach was big. Also what drugs were they addicted to. " they pulled the crack out the bag and made four lines" crack and coke are two different things.
This was a great debut for a first time book. It held little to no errors. The story line flowed well through out the book. Parrish was just a 14 year old trying to be grown. She wanted to listen to her friend, and everything went down hill. by the middle of the book I had everything planned. I knew what was gonna happen before it happen, but nevertheless it was good. Keep up the good work.
This book made me mad. It starred off really good. I enjoyed the storyline. The next thing you know she drops a few things in the book that made it predictable!!!! I knew how it was going to go down. I really don't see a need for part two; I can write that for you also. This book had so much more potential.
Diane takes you on the ride with a young girl wanting to be grown. She soon learns that sometimes trying to grow up before your time, isn't the best thing to do. This read will have you on an emotional roller coaster and have you wanting more.
