In a quaint New England town with a history of witches and pilgrims, misunderstood eleven-year-old Norman Babcock can see and talk to ghosts. No one believes him, of course-everyone just thinks he's weird (including his parents). But when a folktale of a witch who cursed her accusers turns out to be true, it's up to Norman to save the town from pilgrim zombies! In addition to the zombies, he'll have to take on a very angry witch, an annoying sidekick, his boy-crazy teenage sister, and dozens of moronic grown-ups who get in his way. This young ghoul whisperer finds his paranormal talents pushed to their otherworldly limits in this hilarious and spooky adventure!
Featuring gorgeous black-and-white interior illustrations and a story beyond what you'll see in the film, this novel is sure to delight!
I LIKE THIS BOOK BECAUSE I LIKE PARANORMAL ACTIVITY SHOWS, MOVIES, AND BOOKS!!!!!!! I WOULD RATE IT 1-100 AND IT WOULD BE 99 BECAUSE I HATE WHEN I READ ABOUT HOW PEOPLE GET HURT BY BULLIES BECAUSE I GOT BULLIED FOR A WHOLE YEAR IN 4TH GRADE AND IT WAS TERRIBLE! I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO KIDS (LIKE ME) (11), BECAUSE IT IS A GREAT BOOK TO BE INDEPENDENT AND IF YOU ARE BULLIED STAND UP TO THE BULLY AND DON'T BE AFRAID! I LOVED THIS BOOK AND I'M ALMOST DONE. WELL, KIND OF...........
There are no ghosts, orbs, nor are there witches, and zombies
I rated the book 1 bc I don't believe children nor adults should believe the dead are in purgatory, nor do they come back. I truly do not know why I read this book other than to tell the world that this is truly witchcraft, and we have been warned by the Bible to stay away from it.
I loved the book but I want to know what happens next fortunately I saw the movie and saw what happened but I would prefer reading books more than watching movies. Really nice once again and I show empathy for Norman very well expressed
I didn't notice that this was a preview not the full book, so I'm only giving it 4 stars, half what I would probably give it if I read the whole book, other than that, it's not too bad of a preview.
An excellent creepy story just right for kids! Norman is plagued with the "gift" of being a "seer". The funny cast in this story along with the creepy zombies and the witch ghost make the story full of adventure and creeps! Poor Norman, like many other kids who are "different" struggles through and remains true to himself and to his gift to continue to try to "do the right thing". Kids will love this book!
I'm sad that this was just a preview as it is a wonderful story. I've had it for some time and should have read it earlier. I have always enjoyed the movie and watch it every year around this season. I will get the full story to read as I want to see how the ending is written. A worthwhile read for anyone who likes the season.
Paranorman was a fun movie and also a fun book. If you love animation and hen you’ll love these. They’re not only well done and super colorful which is a recipe for a good mood, but it’s a vet good story too. Thus, five stars!
I loved this book so much. Its about a boy who never fit in with other children. since he was small he could see ghosts but nobody believes him. His best friend is his grandma who is dead and a kid who just annoys him but he can never get rid of him. His uncle who he isn't allowed to see passes downs book and a tradition to him one day. Its to read a book to this dead girl by a tree on her anniversary every year. He doesn't make it in time and the girl rises zombies and terrorizes the town with ghosts. Norman is the only one who can save them but will he be able to? Read to find out.
This book which I am reviewing is only the first 7 chapters of the book. It ends right after the bathroom scene in the movie. Overall I thought it was pretty good and thought it was fairly close to the movie. I absolutely love the movie, it’s one of my favorites so I’m glad they did a decent job on the book (I think the book came after the movie).
Anyway, I would love to pick up the full version of the book and finish reading it, but at it’s normal price and having DRM I won’t be buying it. Because it has DRM it drops to 4/5.

Norman can see and talk to dead people. Everyone thinks he's strange (not odd, mind you; that would have to be Thomas!). He gets pestered with all kinds of requests from the dead people. Oh, and the witch is coming on the 300th anniversary of her execution just a few days away.
When I got this book, I didn't ever see the word "excerpt". It's well written, engaging, all the right things one would want in a book. Except it stops. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars. It's not the author's fault I'm an imbecile, but I'm blaming her anyway, like any good American.
I look forward to reading the rest of the story one day.
This book is about Norman and the ghost and the Norman tries to tell his mom dad and sister and this bully at school and he was in this play and he started seeing thing and he there coming and no body believed him but until the which awkaed and now they believe that the which was coming and now the zombie fill bad about what they did what they did was they killed her and you have read story to her and she will go back to sleep forever.
I love this book I watch the movie it has a lot of difference between the movie and the book. I like it because you can compare it to the movie. I don't like it because it didn't tell me what happened to the which.
The book was good but what happened to Norman with the witch. Did he fight her or whatever. Needs to have a better ending. Other than that good book. More detailed than the movie.
stupid also stupid and I don't know how are the only reason your own project management system where the union and the United nations in a few months and the world to see if I
I love your book but it wasn't as good as the movie. What I liked about the story was when the ghost appeared in the story.I didn't like the part when they in the room and the the dead class pet was a ghost.I consider the book because I like the movie.
My God daughter and I listened to the book on a short trip. We both enjoyed visualizing the details of the book and recalling scenes from the movie. We also giggled at new areas not in the movie. Just plan good Halloween fun!
I disliked the ending cause now I don't know if he is going to get the book or he isn't and I would recommend this book to my best friend Dana. (PS,I already know what happens cause I watched the movie!)
it is a good book for me and you make really good books and the story is just like the movie so you did really good at this book and just keep moving forward
This book isn't finished like the movie but it did have the exact words I thought would be in the book because I saw the movie before I read the 1st half of the book.
