This fourth and final omnibus volume of the original Gunsmith Cats series is probably the single best GSC-related item available. Not only does it comprise the super-exciting "Mr. V" storyline, with the usual gun-an-auto action and and special plot twist, but for extra punch, creator Kenichi Sonoda added a bunch of exclusive gag strips and a few issues of his left-to-right reading Riding Bean stories from way back in 1989. Also included are some "making of Riding Bean" comics and sketches and notes from the early days. See the beginnings of Sonoda's awesome Gunsmith Cats series!
Malo razocaravajuci kraj serijala.
I narvano povremene golotinje :P
A disappointing end to the series that got in me into reading manga last summer. It had issues since the beginning but I think you could skip this one completely. Maybe read the 'Happy Birthday' chapter if you want an ending but it isn't important. It's like Kenichi Sonoda ran out of ideas or just stopped caring. Yes, it's a '90s action cartoon, but only just barely in this final volume, add to that him dragging Rally and a few supporting characters through the mud in cheap and lazy ways. Left me with a bad taste.
It's like eating a bucket of wings. You can't stop until you're done, even if you know it'll be bad for you and you'll end up feeling dirty.
It's got very good art, very poor characterization (I don't know if it's the translation or the original material's fault) and some pretty disturbing ideas about sex.
This fourth volume of the Revised Editions delivers only average enjoyment, as the main storyline featuring Goldie and Rally’s father isn’t the best this series has to offer, and there’s plentiful nudity included that really doesn’t fit the plot. Regardless, the artwork continues to be excellent, with the various guns and vehicles nicely rendered as always, plus the bonus Riding Bean mini-series is a cool addition for fans to read.
Rally Vincent is back in full Bounty Hunter form. A figure from Rally’s past makes their explosive Stallone-esque debut. Would you believe it? Once again a member of Gunsmith Cats crew is taken hostage. Whole lot of Bean Bandit in this. Which is always a plus. Including the unfinished Bean Bandit manga at the end of this volume which features a Proto-Rally.
I really really really want to read this so bad I can't find it though but I did find riding Bean DVD and got it for $3.00 plus I didn't have to pay tax and I loved it it was so good it was English dubbed was really good I remembered how good it was and I don't like that I had lesbians in it but it's still good movie to watch and it's a good book series I think it's a book series sincerely lady
It was good, but it is my least favorite of the four volumes. This is due to the best relationship (Rally-May) being almost entirely absent. The Goldie arc stayed long past its expiration date and Bean’s superhero status wore thin. The big reveal had little impact and no lasting consequences.
Solid series all the way thru. I started it as a child and got back into it many moons later. Definitely very adult....why was I reading this at 13 🤭🤭 but I'm glad I found it again.
Enjoyable but disappointing to the series that finds Rally & Minnie May dealing with a vengeful Goldie, the drug dealer who brainwashed Rally some time back. Now gearing for payback, she has a surprising ally in tow from Rally's past. Sonoda crafts another fun, action-packed book lots of great gunplay & car chases but reverts to the overly sexualized depiction of the female characters, hurting their impact as badass bounty hunters. Plus, a chance to deeply explore Rally's past and how she became a bounty hunter is missed when a new character shows up. Thankfully, the action is good and some supporting characters get a chance to shine (Bean Bandit, the brilliant getaway driver, get's his own story). Overall, a solid conclusion but anti-climatic in it's ending.
