I really thought this one was cute and the stroller strap put it over the edge for me to buy it. (Natalie really loves chewing on the same strap on her toy phone and likes her Cuddle Cuffs books). I really liked how this book showed a picture of an animated animal and then a photo of a baby for each body part. For the most part, the baby and animal pictures emphasized the body part. I felt the baby for checks was a poor choice; Natalie has way cuter chubbier checks. My favorite was the toes page, but the last page with the turtle was also very good. The toucan I recognized immediately from one of our other Fisher Price toys that came with our high chair, and other animals from the book are on her high chair and the toy that came with it. One bad thing about this book, is that after only a few days, the edge is already starting to wear where Natalie has gummed it.
12/2010: We didn't use this book much for a while because of it starting to disintegrate on the edges if chewed. But, when it came back into the home library, it was a very big deal. This book showed me that Natalie knows her noes, arms, and toes. She started to work on eyes and ears with this book, too. When we read this book, she will touch the body parts mentioned without prompting and lift her arms up like the baby in the picture.
Summary: This book is a very simple book. On each page there is an animal and a baby. It goes through the body parts. So it starts saying two eyes, one nose, two cheeks, two arms, little toes and big smile. Each page is simple but colorful. Personal reaction: I think this is a good book to start teaching the child about each body part and they can start pointing them out and recognizing the body part. I think it’s good because they also show animals for them to recognize we have similar body parts as animals.
I thought this was a great book! It is very simple, but also very educational. This would be a book you would read a baby. It is talking about your nose, toes, two arms etc. This is a great way for babies and small children to learn body parts and to locate them on themself.
