The quality of the writing makes this book less helpful than I had hoped. Where was the sequence of actions that were to make me a faster runner, effortlessly? It comes across as a collection of activities collected from a few runner's notes over some years time.
Exercises and having pictures of them is excellent! Nice short read for new and experienced runners alike who have never opened up a running book and just keep slogging it out on their own. We get into a rut.
The book is practical, clearly written and offers great advice with a range of practical routines and exercises to help individuals to improve their running
Great read. Very simple, not easy. Doing the stretches is hard, but it’s so straightforward and that’s amazing. I will keep this for sure as my reference.
I was 15 when I starting distance running in 1969. Unfortunately my high school coach was not a runner, and had no understanding of the finer, more subtle technical points necessary to excel @distance running. Therefore -> it was up to me to discover the simple, workable aspects that fostered my success and love for the sport. What I discovered is remarkable similar to that which the author articulates. The book is concise (a fast read), yet expresses a depth of understanding. Adam D’ Alessandro describes the basics in simple and easily understandable terminology. I highly endorse this work. I wish I had written it!
