Legal investigator Maggie is in Scotland, attending her first-ever music festival at the age of forty-four - and it's not raining! But this is work, not pleasure, as she tries to negotiate a divorce settlement for her client, the wife of Scotland's biggest rock star. Meanwhile DCI Frank Stewart has landed another cold case, as startling new evidence sheds light on a historic allegation of sexual assault. All roads lead to the beautiful Highlands, where the majestic but dangerous River Spey is in full spate, a willing but unknowing accomplice to murder. If you love LJ Ross, Joy Ellis and Anne Cleeves, you'll love this twisty murder-mystery
Another fun story with Maggie Bainbridge, Frank Stewart, his brother Jimmy, Eleanor and Lori. I was glad Lori had a larger role in this story.
Rob Wyllie is very creative, but he switches identifying some characters by their first or last names, which I found a bit distracting. There are few typos and a few sentences that need commas. Also, I get that Jimmy is good looking, but it gets old that every woman who sees him is instantly attracted.
I hope the Bainbridge series continues as the stories are both suspenseful and entertaining.
Characters you feel as if you know and want to be part of their group and share in the excellent storyline! Does a wonderful job of sharing the beauty of Scotland - from the history and character of Glasgow to the peaceful beauty of the Highlands. Well done Rob - hope this goes to the top of the charts!
